    Hi Mark,

Could you please explain how can I do that? I am not the main applicant, it is my partner. However we both have BVA not active at the moment.

    Visa applied Oct/2018

    Nomination approved 23/feb/2019

PC and medical exams requested for the main applicant 23/feb/19

Partner (myself) added to the application on 06/03/2019

Medical exams and PC asked for me on 12/03/19.

Further police checks requested and submitted for me on 10/04/19.

Still waiting, no news so far.

First you make your immi account using the primary applicants details, then you click on import a file and here you give the details from your BVA. Even though your bridging visa is not active your status will show that your file is received. Hope this helps.

I have a question for everyone to ask..i Always check my immi account for an update and see this page..i this normal ..i gave all my docs to my MA but its showing 0 of 60 documents ..my file is not yet opened

It is a bit strange definitely.... of courses most of the documents would be submitted for your nomination but atleast some documents should be uploaded here like your passport or licence for identification evidence of employment and work experience. So roughly you should see 3/60 documents atleast. This could be more if you have attached police clearance and other documents too. This is my understanding but your MA could be waiting for immigration to ask for documents before they decided to upload it.

Actually I have an MA. He has not given access to me. He did not bother to check status. He is of the view that he will receive email from Immigration when there is any development. Anyhow thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Tipu your MA doesn't need to give you access...you can get access yourself by details on your bridging visa. You can even upload your own documents without giving them to your MA.

    Re: your reply

Hi Jassie, if the judge has given you a suggestion of going to your local MP then by all means go ahead, I was just be sarcastic regarding the Queensland drug lord that got his visa through political affiliation with his mate Peter. Unfortunately we don't have those political connections and have to wait normal or abnormal course of our duration.

Hello everyone I want ask something that my employer is trying to involve the political parties in my visa application because they are taking time to open my file ,It will work or no, suggestions will be appreciated, thanks

What's your occupation - U can use political influence only if your a drug dealer and you have Peter Dutton to back you up.... otherwise using political influence will only land U up with a refusal....I'm sure ur not waiting since June 2016 coz there are few people here from that period.

The nomination is the employer's application to sponsor the position and applicant.  The nomination process does not include any assessment of whether the applicant is eligible for the visa.  So the nomination does not mean a visa is guaranteed, it's not unheard of for the applicant to still be refused a visa if they don't meet all the criteria.

Yeah I think we all know that already... there is always a possibility of rejection on the visa part but most of the times it's almost a home run...if U know what mean...by the way I was trying to motivate him and others who are in the same boat.... would U rather have me say - "Samir don't get too excited it's only your nomination that's been approved there is still a chance of your visa being rejected" 😁

Yeah mark You are right I’m same guy but my workmate got nomination and visa on same time that’s why I don’t know how long it takes
    Thanks

Anyways since ur nomination has been approved there is almost a certain guarantee that your visa is coming for sure... it's just a matter of waiting. I hope the wait is not too long...all the best mate!!! Surely it can't be that long away😊👍

    Thanks

Gazza I believe you had another guy who applied from the same company after you and got their visa approved before you... I could be wrong and mixing you up with someone else. How long did the other guys visa take to be granted after his nomination was approved??

I think you get good and bad in every profession tbh. I should have said reputable migration agent. There seems to be a few on here. I did all my visas myself but there are things I didn’t know, that immigration doesn’t tell you because that information is not freely available on their website. Even immigration themselves have insurance because of the bad advice they give out to people, and their cover is always ‘you should have used an agent’.

It surprises me how many people take advice from unknown people on a forum that could have massive ramifications for them in the future. If you have the time to do your own research then great, but it’s also knowing what information is trustworthy and what isn’t. I wouldn’t know where to start if I had to look at clauses and sub clauses in immigration law.

This forum is here to share similar experiences and ask questions regarding the same scenarios - now it's an open platform where everyone will have an opinion - it's up to the individual to take the advice and do some research on that to see if it stacks up....if they are just heading in blindly then they are fools. I agree with you on the fact that immigration gives bad advice one of my friend called up to ask on the status of his wife's application, this is the reply he got back. "Tell her to cancel her application and reapply from here" this person who was talking to my friend over the phone is so lucky to be working for immigration because he clearly lacks basic common sense in order to apply from within the country you first need to be here. How some of these people get these jobs I really wonder.

I was actually just about to share this as my next topic on my MA what mark23 has said.

My MA asked my partner's IELTS twice. Once while lodging the application in 2018 and again in 2019 when I provided her more documents to upload . She wants me to inform her if my partner is appearing for IELTS or paying VAC .

I again searched a bit on immi website about English exemptions and found any secondary applicant does not need IELTS if they have 2year onshore Australian degree. When I asked this to my MA through an email. She did not replied me back. When I gave her a call second time. She didn't talked to me. She actually didn't talked to me since she has received my daughter's bridging visa 187 directly from DIBP without knowing anything. Now I had received an email from her assistant about providing evidence of qualifications but they had still not given me an answer in yes or no.

I am at that stage where I cannot afford to change my MA but I really want to or fight myself if in case my file opens. I am working in a regional area where it is very dangerous to live. My house has been broken in twice and robbed. All my valuables/jewellery/laptop/purse/cards/overseas driver's license  was stolen when I moved to regional area in 2018. This area is considered as high drug addicts area. I am scared each day here besides of this fact I would get 187 grant or not ?. I was not aware about the area when I moved and when I discussed this with my MA she did not replied me back. She ignored my email completely. Seems like she don't care.

If I spend 24months waiting here for 187 visa grant and gets a refusal it will be very disheartening for me. I lost everything already. I am just living on a hope of visa grant now.

Sorry to hear about this... losing valuables is bad but what's worse is getting Ur laptop and documents stolen. I really feel sad and angry to hear about this. But getting back to your topic, your MA must be embarrassed that you've done a better job than her that's why she is not replying or answering your calls. If your wife/partner has an Australian qualifications which is done over a 2 year period that qualifies her to meet the minimum requirements for English exemption.

I’m not 100% sure, though a number of websites from Mara registered agents say it’s from the date of visa grant. Furthermore someone did actually quote what their agent had said earlier in this thread and they said it was from the date of the visa grant too.

I personally wouldn’t chance it. It might be unlikely the visa would be cancelled, but given the way immigration is going who knows what will be enforced down the line?

At the end of the day that’s my best guess based on information available to me on the net, but I haven’t read the intricacies of immigration law and neither has anyone else posting on this thread so I’d take all the advice with a pinch of salt. My advice is still to run it by a registered agent, who theoretically should know what they are talking about.

To be honest most registered MA don't know what the rules are and how they apply in different circumstances. I can say this because I have been to several MA for advise but most of them knew less than what I know and when I challenged them on certain points the only response they had was they will get back to me. Most of the stuff that @MilaMocha said it correct including "no point informing immigration coz they would only stand to say that we hold the rights to cancel your visa. See what @Tosh14 said about his MA wanting him to pay extra. I had the same experience 2 years ago when I applied for my daughters visa after she was born here, I not only got her visa without any fee but also got it without a passport and medicals, her visa grant letter had passport number as NIL. So far all my visas have been done by my self without any MA's help the only reason I went to them is to see if there is something different that I don't know. As said everything is not black and white there is a lot of grey areas. My present visa I am the main applicant and one MA told me that my partner needs to give IELTS too when I told them that any secondary applicant does not need to give IELTS if they have an Australian qualifications which is been achieved over a 2year period onshore, they said they will have to check and get back, after one day they told me I'm right my partner does not need to give IELTS. The other point someone else noted that check what your MA is doing and what documents they submitted because many MA are lying and not doing their job properly - this is the same reason why some MA's are getting deregister and migrating themselves to other countries after taking your money though 😂😂😂

hi guys i have one question

i received my 187 in march this year..but the problem is that our head chef is harrasing me and bullying..i am more than happy to work in  any other regional area..can i work for another company or i have to stay with the current one..Thanks

You can leave provided you can show proof that you are being bullied, in order to do this you need to get some written statement by other fellow colleagues supporting your claims and put in a formal complaint to the management regarding the head chef outlining the details of your harrassment. You will need to gather substantial evidence to support your claim because if you just say that you are not happy and can't prove the bullying and harrassment then you could be in problem if your employer informs immigration about you leaving the job. All the best I know there are many people out here who go through work place harrassment and just have to tolerate this just because of their sponsorships conditions.

Can anyone please advise how long they have been stuck on 'Further Assessment' status, upon submitting all requested documentation?

My nomination has been approved, and just waiting for them to make a decision.

    any feedback would be useful.

Jonjo the longest I've seen anyone wait on further assessment is 8 months on this forum but I guess each one's case is different and they might of kept asking for more evidence and documents that's what took so long.... hopefully you get some good news soon.

    Hi mark,

thank you very much for your reply, but I don’t know how to write the complain. Do you guys have any format I can follow? Thank you all nice people here. Thanks again.

I'll write it, if you want; send me the details along with your email address..

  17. 10 minutes ago, Geace said:

    Hi,

did your agent ask you to pay extra for the complain letter? I asked my agent to complain, he said I need to pay 1000+ gst. I think it’s a part of my application and I already paid 7800 dollars when I change to this lawyer and also it’s unreasonable for me to pay that.

Hi Geace, this fee is completely unethical please do not pay it. I can understand if you need to appeal against the decision then there is an application fee and a professional fee but there is no such fee as a complaint fee. I'm sure they will give you a receipt and are covered by their business practices but you should report this agent through mara. If you don't want to do it please send me their details and I will report them. Please don't waste any more money on complaining, they will just write a formal mail/email asking what is the status of the applicant that's all, they will not fight for U. If you want to complain Do it yourself!!!

Yes I think you need to speak to your MA about this, either they have received RCB and they are not telling you or they haven't filed ur RCB coz it shouldn't take more than 6 weeks.
