  1. Hi @Waitingaround

we submitted the Form80. I checked in with a migration agent on a panic as to whether I needed to do the 1221 and they said no.

I did the 40SP as I had originally not realised I needed to do the sponsorship application part online, so I ended up doing both and made sure all answers added up. I think the 40SP is for paper applications according to the migration agent and the online one is sufficient.

Hope that helps! We were super lucky that we had no RFIs and processed in just over 4 months.

Good luck to you and everyone else. The wait is well worth the satisfaction you get when the golden email comes through!

    Hello all,

I've been lurking on the forum for a while and thought I'd add our details to the mix! This thread has been so helpful in keeping the panic at bay (although frustrating to see so many others in limbo too).

I'm the sponsor, husband is a British citizen. Together 8 years, married for 4, one child.

We applied 9 July 2018, husband did the medical shortly after. We didn't front-load his police check although I did front-load my UK one. I didn't do an Australian police check at this point as I've lived in the UK over 10 years.

Got a RFI on 22/11/18 for husband's police check which we uploaded early December.

Got an email shortly after saying we had a CO and are currently at 'further assessment' stage.

Nothing else to date... until I just logged on this morning to check these dates and on my application it now says 'approved' next to my name. The application status still says 'submitted' but I'm sure the 'approved' bit wasn't there before... I think someone on the forum earlier in the month had this too? So fingers crossed it's a sign of progress as we're planning on moving in April!

Hi @Bananacake - Yes I also log in and have 'approved' next to my name as a sponsor yet application is still saying submitted  - it's been like that for some time now....no RFIs and I submitted 4th Oct.... Can only hope something is coming our way soon!

@LouFerg I think you're looking on the "View Details" page for the sponsor's application?

If so my sponsor still says "Submitted" but this doesn't surprise me given the RFI request.

Yes that’s the one. But has me very puzzled why it’s saying approved there now, even though status is still submitted and we have received no notifications of any sort. The mystery continues!

  4. Great news RFIs are coming through @simonp85 and @mia.oh.my

We submitted on 4th October so fingers crossed someone will email us soon too!

We also completed a Form 80.

When I log in and look at my sponsorship application - I noticed that It says Applicant - my name, DOB and now it’s also saying next to it ‘approved’ even though the status is still submitted? Does anyone else’s say this?

    Thanks @CEP @KitCat @W2O for the response/welcome, much appreciated!

@LouFerg - thanks so much for the detailed info and I thought that's what I must have done but having dug out my application doc it reads as follows.....

Migrating members of the family unit
Are there any migrating members of the family unit included in this application?
    No
Non-migrating members of the family unit
Does the applicant have any members of their family unit not travelling to Australia who are not
Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents?
Yes....and I go on to add details for my parents, sister etc.

Did yours look like this when it was erroneous? Chilled glass/bottle of something nice coming you way! 🙂

    @Urban_Fox

Yes on my husband's application read exactly like yours  - a 'No' to the first question, and then a 'Yes' to the second which I then inserted all his mum, dad, brother and sister details. Then realising that family unit, like what @SydneyBound says - doesn't include them!  The migration agent I called then also confirmed i'd answered that second question incorrectly, and advised me to do a notification of incorrect answer here -

    image.png.cb1b00067c645930c5d60b70b98bbf56.png

We then listed each member of the family as an 'applicant with incorrect information relating to' and said that they have been listed as a non-migrating member of the family unit not travelling to Australia however they are not a dependent of the Applicant or Sponsor. The details for correct information I gave was that the Applicant has no members of their family unit not travelling to Aus who are not Australian citizens or Aus perm residents, therefore the answer to the question should be no. Then details for reason why incorrect information was provided was - misunderstanding of the question asked and did not realise that family unit means dependent.

I've just logged into my immi account to check all of this and just realised that all there names have disappeared now from needing documents uploading!!!!!! Which makes me think SOMEONE MAY BE LOOKING AT MY APPLICATION FINGERS CROSSED and actioned something!!! fingers crossed we hear something soon!!!

Hope the above is helpful @Urban_Fox and @W2O

Hi there, thanks all for a great read whilst passing the time and for the excellent spreadsheet....really useful and feel free to add me on.

I applied myself 18th Nov, medical done 2 weeks later but uploaded all of my evidence, police checks (for both myself and sponsor) around Jan 1st so just playing the waiting game now.  My application has 'received' against it, Sponsor has 'submitted' still - sound normal?

One thing I can't find an answer to is under my application there's sections to upload documents for my immediate (non-migrating) family, so my mum, dd and sister - does that sound normal to you guys?

I'm wondering if I added them into part of the application on the wrong page and they're waiting for docs for them too.  It doesn't ask for specific docs (like character reference etc) like for me and my sponsor, just 'other' docs.

Hoping it's a smooth process, together for 5 years, joint home-owners 3 years and recently married.....i guess we'll see!

    UF.

    Hi @Urban_Fox

I too had this happen and was wondering why I had my husband’s family who were not migrating to Aus with us coming up. I am the sponsor and when we did my husband’s application form, we misunderstood the question and thought ‘family unit’ meant his mum, dad, brother and sister. However after paying for a telephone consultation with a migration agent, they confirmed that ‘family unit’ is referencing dependants only (aka - if they had a child with another partner and there could be a future possibility that they may migrate). The migration agent told me to lodge a notification of change in circumstances in my immi account and just say I misunderstood the question. Nothing has changed since I did so, but I don’t think our application has been looked at yet (we applied 4th october so fingers crossed soon) so hopefully once it is, all will be fine.

    Hope that helps!

Hey guys, just want to update to you all that I received the golden email received today woohoo 🍻

The only slightly weird thing I found on my grant notification was that they granted me 100 straight away, i.e. what about the 2 year temporary 309 visa?

    Here are the dates FYI:

    Partner (subclass 100): Granted
Date of grant                           16 January 2019
For first entry, arrive by          03 July 2019
Must not arrive after              16 January 2024
Length of stay                         Indefinite from the date of each arrival
Travel Unlimited until            16 January 2024. For travel after this date, apply for a Resident Return visa

Congratulations! Must be such a good feeling!

When did you make your application?

Hi @LouFerg. I missed it initially too and only found out about it through this forum, thankfully. No idea if it is definitely required, but we thought it best to do it, just in case.

On your immi account, if you click on NEW APPLICATION, it will bring up a list of possible visas you can apply for. This one is under FAMILY and it is the "Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia" (see screenshot below)

    image.png.2ff6239e6a55d8869d0b8819f0249465.png

You need the reference numbers of the applications original application to ensure it links to that.  It is almost an exact copy of the information you have already provided in the applicants Visa application, so make sure you are consistent with your answers.  I basically copied and pasted, as so many of the questions were the same.  I am not 100% sure without comparing them both, but it might be this is just the online version of the 40SP document?

ah thanks so much @Ausgirl42 ! I see now! It looks very similiar so just going through and copying it all over. This forum is fantastic for picking up these things when you don't have a migration agent! thanks again @Ausgirl42 and @KitCat

  10. Hi there

I too have been reviewing this forum and it's certainly given me some reassurance that the waiting time is totally normal!

I am an Australian and my husband is a Brit. As friends had been through the application at the start of 2018 and had theirs approved within a few months, we were under the impression we would be moving sooner than it is looking like.

Would be great to be added to the timeline too.

    Applied 309/100 - 4 October 2018

No response as yet, still at stage 1, Received. Have done all the criminal checks, and medical for my husband complete.

We are now contemplating doing the tourist visa as we would ideally like to be out there by May. Any advice on the tourist visa would be appreciated!

Fingers crossed for more grant news soon.
