Hi all,
Didn't realise that as a sponsor I need police checks too??!! Is this right!
Thanks
Hey, absolutely needed. Our RFI was for both UK and Aus police checks for my hubby (sponsor). Luckily we'd already ordered them so it didn't take long. You get a limited amount of time to provide information when requested and both checks can take a couple of weeks so well worth getting them done.

Hi GemTrae, thanks for the reply. I have already applied for my check and its through scanned and updated - I am waiting on my husband to get back from working abroad to apply for his but as he has to request two checks (UK and Australian) I just wasn't sure if when he applies on the ARCO site if it gives the options of both or do we have to apply to another police organisation for each one?
No. ACRO only covers UK police clearance. The Aus Federal clearance is applied for separately. Will see if I can find the link that immi sent us to use.

Thank you I wasn't sure I just don't want to get a FIR if I can help it - can ask how I request both for my husband or does the ARCO give you the option to do both at the same time?
Thank you.
Both you and your husband would need to apply for each police check individually. I doubt you can apply on somebody's behalf as it's sensitive data.
You need to provide a digital passport photo and the name of someone they can contact to confirm your identity for an ACRO. Or that's what we both had to do.

Hi - I have just been second guessing myself regarding the police checks - I used the link on the visa application to request an arco police check. I have received it back but is that the only one I have to do? Is it from here or Australia? Also my husband who has been living here 13 years and is Australian has to do two I think, one Australian and one for UK, or does the arco do both? I'm second guessing everything
So I (applicant) only submitted my UK ACRO certificate, I've only ever lived in the UK. My husband (sponsor) received a request for both UK and Aus police clearance certificates. He grew up in Aus but lived here in the UK for nearly 10 years.

Oh my days...i can't breath!!!!
Saw @Paddsy (huge congratulations to both you and @AdStanna btw!) post at the end of my work day and realised that today was the first day in a long time where I haven't reloaded my emails every 5 seconds.
Que opening email whilst preparing for the usual disappointment...both 309 and 100 granted!!!!
I have no more words, I'm just going to sit here and drink the champers that's been in my fridge waiting much more patiently than I have!
@CEP please please tell me you got yours too!!!!

Morning all, have come across this lovely post and will get avidly reading for recommendations and advice along the way. I'm an aussie and my husband is English and we have been married 11 years and have three children. Just applied last week (5/2/19) for hubbies Aussie visa as we have decided (FINALLY) to make the move. Currently uploaded the huge amount of repetitive forms and evidence. Police checks paid for. Medical completed. We are not hopeful of getting it anytime soon but hope to get there sometime in 2020. I would love to join the visa bus with you all
Welcome to the lounge!

I’m hoping they’re now working through October lodgements...looks like there were some RFI’s for those applying at the start of October. We lodged on the 28th October, but no contact as yet. Just keeping everything
Lol kind of hoping they could finish May's first!!

Well, flights are booked for 8th July. Qantas have a flash sale on for anyone looking at travelling!
No sign of a visa yet so still not sure whether I'll need to pay for my medical again.

So quiet this week. It's survivable as long as there's still grants happening in general, at least someone's getting good news!

Lmao @CEP, yep all of the above. Just doing another tourist lap of London with my dad. About to get off the bus at Temple, wondering if I should pop into the embassy and attempt to put in a good word for us!?

Oh no, don't be doing that. I just keep reminding myself that had anything else been needed it would've been asked for at RFI. Its just a case of lots of applicants and not many COs. Our time will come. However, if I here "good things come to those who wait" spoken one more time I think I'll hibernate until the email arrives!

Thanks @CEP. It's got to be our turn next!

Aaahhh as if you were in kings cross. Hubby and I both work in that area. I know I shouldn't be surprised that somebody was at a huge central London station...but still!!! Small world.

Hey @HomewardBound, I think that depends on how you received the request. Although, i dont believe there is any queue jumping for anything. Cases are addressed lodgement date order, some cases are simpler than others and take less time. We received notification a few weeks after lodgement to complete our medical, once complete they upload clearance and it sits with your evidence waiting to be viewed by an agent once it's your turn. All up ours took around 9 months.
Fingers crossed for you, hopefully having been granted before will help your case!
