Any ideas how the last paragraph will affect those in the 143 queue?

Hi All, Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to process an 870 visa.. i am planning to go over in Sept 2023 and wait for my 143, which is currently estimated at 2029 (11 years after application) so looking at when i will need to start the ball rolling? TIA, Dan -
i see, i thought for an awful minute that i had wasted my time going for the 143, if i could have been onshore on a 103. Thankyou for the clarification.

I am a little confused, re the third paragraph. does this mean that if you lodged your visa in May 18 you are now at the back of the queue?

Hi. We applied and were accepted for our subclass 600 for my wife. Can you possibly let me know if normal full year travel insurance with "Staysure Travel insurance" will be sufficient medical cover or does she require full medical insurance. Also i ticked the box for the additional year on the visa application and supplied the required evidence but her acceptance document does not seem to refer to it. is this normal? Dan

Hi All, quick question for those on a Subclass 600 eg 2 x 12 month stay over a 3 year period. Looking at what insurance to use. do you go for single trip or backpackers insurance and what seems to be the best company to use? Dan

That's probably what it is as my wife is a young 49 year old. flights booked for 1st November for 12 months.

Hi, has the subclass 600 changed at all, there now seems to be some variants and i can't tell which is the best option for us. We are still in the very long queue for our 143 visa! Can anyone point me in the right direction it suggests tourist stream or sponsored family stream?

Many thanks.. not good news as I was quoted 2.5 - 3 years when I submitted my application.. if I had known it would take that long I could have gone for a different visa as I will have my pension before I get there. So no need to work!

God knows how long I will have to wait. I was quoted 2.5 - 3 years earlier this year. 143 lodged in May 18 .. never know, I may still be alive when it's accepted!

Hi All, Very interesting reading. Looks like I'm in for a bit of a wait. our 143 application was only lodged on 21st May 2018. I was originally told 2.5 - 3 years. hopefully it will not take much longer than that. I see a lot of you are already living is Oz whilst waiting for it to be processed. Question is are you allowed to work in Oz whilst waiting as only being 54 I have a few years to wait for my pension and my wife is a few years younger? Any advice would be much appreciated as I could move a soon as March 19 when my current pension freezes. Many thanks
