hi, for the photograph online citizenship application can it be done with mobile phone? or does it have to be official at auspost or similar? thanks
For the Identity declaration you will need a passport size photo. Scan it and use it to upload on the section asking for it.
We used our kindy teacher to vouch and sign the form 1195

Hi all
I have applied for citizenship and my surname is not printed on my birth certificate but it is printed on my passport. Anyone have any idea ,if it would be a problem?
There is a section of the form when doing the paper application (don't know if online is the same bc I havent applied as yet..still waiting 7 days to be able to) that reads "have you ever been known or are known by a different name"? And you should answer yes to it. With and without surname. Also for the Australian police check, it asks the same. I too have the same issue, on my US passport I have one surname and on my chilean passport I have two surnames, so I report both known names Nora, X Y and Nora X.
So today I received my National Police Certificate and it reads something like: "No criminal records under the name of Nora X who has advised that is also known as Nora X Y"
Hope it helps!
Do what you think is right. Remember that for most of our "official paper work" while in Au (centrelink, visas, etc) we use foreign passport as an ID, So it does make sense to report the two names.

Nora, my advice to apply your citizenship smoothly is to make sure you have all the documents ready and scanned beforehand. Another important part is to get your identification documents ready beforehand as well. As it took me 5 days delay due to not having done it on time. You can print them out and take it to your regular GP doctor and get it signed in. I believe you already know it. recommending you Just in case if you don’t know yet. Cheers !
Yes great tip. I got all my paperwork scanned and translated (same docs I used for the 186visa) . All I need is to take the Identity form to my GP so he can sign. I will do that next week. Just started filling the applications..but got stuck on page 3/36 because we still do not meet the time in Au to apply.
Thanks again @KazBaker

Not sure how that goes but we’ve been told from numerous of different people from Centrelink that once we have PR we get the benefits. Not sure if it’s different as we’ve been over here for 8 years already..
Just check the centrelink website...have a browse. Depending on your income, you may be eligible for tax family benefit part B (once you've become Permanent Resident; meaning it doesn't matter how long you've been living in Au, your inmigration status must be "Permanent Resident") For Tax Fam Benefit part A you must wait a year from the date your visa got approved to be elegible. This has come to effect from 1 Jan 2019. All those who got their permanent visa after this date shall comply with waiting times.
If you have doubts just go to a Centrelink Centre and ask.

Hi, see my signature. Our anxiety is horrible and we don’t get anything from Centrelink regarding childcare so really struggling with money! It makes me extremely frustrated and depressed to see people’s applications being approved in short period of time..
And you won't. Once you become PR there are certain waiting periods to have access to certain centrelink programs. Check the Department of Human Services for more info. So just hang in there.

Hi Hex thanks for the advice my point was that the application which have already been applied there waiting time is 12 months to 16 months . I have already waited 8 months I don’t know whether this waiting gets add on top of that you already waited time . My profile says 12 months to 16 months I don’t know whether this is excluding or including my 8 months . If it’s excluding than my waiting time will be 20 months to 28 Months . So this whole scam which is running by immigration to take people money before even processing the application is bad .
No scam at all. The price you pay is just for them to check if you are elegible for the PR. It is not like if you are paying the grant of the visa. You are paying for the service of them checking your elegibility. As you know, you are still within the estimated time frame. You've been waiting 8months now, and the waiting time can either go up or down without further notice. Yes, It is hard..but at the end of the day, nobody is forcing us to stay here. I bet one income in Australia is way better than two in our home countries..and more for thus of us coming from HR countries. It's the price we have to pay to be in this beautiful country.

PR granted today! This forum really helped me a lot and thanks for all updates from everyone and you will get there soon just be patient. Details below and I do have a few questions to follow.
- Onshore, low risk, 1 applicant, 457->186 grandfather rules, TRT
- lodged mid May
- nomination granted a few days later and s56 requested 3 days later
- NSW PESE team
So total duration is just less than 3 months
Questions
- I have a basic health insurance since I got my 457 just to meet the visa requirement. Can I cancel my health insurance now once I get my 186 PR?
- I have been using my overseas drivers license because 457 was classified as a temporary visa, and I think 186 PR requires a legit Australian Drivers license. Do I have to transfer my overseas license to Australian one immediately now?
- I have got myself an interim medicare card once I lodged my 186 application, how do I get my permanent medicare card?
Thanks again for all the help.
Once you become PR, you have 6 months from the issued date to get an Australian driving license. First step is to get your overseas license verified, and then do the sittings tests (computer and hazard) and last the practical test. Check with your state authority (VicRoads, Qld department of transport, etc).
To get the green medicare card..just walk in to yoir local Centrelink with your photo ID, and visa grant notice.
In regards to private health insurance..its up to you. whether you'd like to be treated at a public or private hospital. Check the pros and cons woth your health provider.
Good luck and congrats.

Immi website states otherwise. I would go safe and try to score 4.5 at least on each band.
Honestly, some people are just too lazy to look for info on immi home affairs website. Many of the answers are there.
Here is the reference, do what suits.

Thanks for replying, but what if Immi refused my PR while I am outside the country, does the bridging B get cancelled or it will be still valid till I come back !!
If your visa application is refused while you are on a bridging visa type B, that means you cannot enter Australia again. Just keep in mind that a Bridging visa whether A or B comes in effect when your previous visa (457,etc) has expired. Therefore, they give you a bridging visa so you can stay lawfully while you await for an outcome on your 186 visa application.
Look at the T&C's of the visa type.

Ask a migration agent.

Is there a seperate transaction number for the nomination application?
I only have one TRN so unsure how people know whether the nomination has been approved.
Im very far of approval having only recently submitted but keen to track it, instead of relying of MA.
Peoplw know because they get told by the employer and/or migration agent. The only application you can track is your visa app; by opening an account on Immi using your TRN number and your personal details.
Good luck!

Hi Everyone,
I am new on the forum, finding everyone very helpful.
I have a very quick question if anyone having the same experience.
186 nomination approved 2/4/2019
Medical and AFP requested 3/5/2019
But when above requirement asked my Immi account application got Status Finalized. And got notification via email and message immi accout.
So, I couldn't uploaded my AFP via immi account coz options are not active but I emailed NSW.PSE as reply and attached scan copies on 23/5/2019 , medical done on 14/05/2019
and tomorrow it will be 3 weeks.
Well, is it normal to get status finalized without if immi ask documents? Or Do we need to provide requested documents and status change to granted or etc...
And whats an average waiting time after providing documents?
Very confused about this.
Please share your experience. Thanks in advance .
Check mesaages. What does it read next to your name and date of birth? Does it say Granted?

Now I am confused. As per my knowledge if we have lodge 457 before 19 april 2019 we can apply visa in 2 years. Can someone explain is this correct or not.
If you held or were granted a 457 visa before the changes made in April of 2017, you shall complete the 2 years working for same employer to apply for 186 TRT visa. If you were granted or applied for 457 after the announced changes; the requirement is 3 years. Check the immi website for more info.
