  1. Really, really feel for you!! Does MP have a 'surgery' like they do in the UK? Also phone centrelink again - make a nuisance of herself. Somerimes I think that If I had known about all the waiting, frustrations, living in limbo, etc. - would I have embarked on this journey in the first place? Good luck ?
  2. That doesn't sound right. I agree with Zaki - she must contact local M.P. Look at our AoS lodgement date - about the same as yours. Where is your daughter based?
  3. We were told there was an 18 week wait between lodgement of initial AoS application and eventual AoS acceptance letter. I am assuming your sponsors have paid the bond and you have sent bank guarantee letter to Centrelink? Your sponsors need to try to phone Centrelink. They might have to be on hold for up to an hour(!!) and probably won't be able to speak to AoS team BUT whoever answers their call can check your application on their system. Might be worth it just to check it hasn't gone astray
  4. Apart from the cost - there is also the w-a-I-t-I-n-g time!! Getting longer and longer. Are your parents already in Oz?
  5. Well, I've taken Alan Collett's advice and emailed Peter Dutton - and his colleague Alan Tudge!!!! Also copied in Senator McKim
  6. Sorry - this was meant to accompany quote! Zaki - I also think it depends upon individual applications and any complications, etc. Basically - none of us has any idea what the criteria are? M
  7. Hi Tidang, Did you/ your parent receive an email from PVC AFTER submitting your AoS acceptance letter? (See my post) As Cat Lady says, she submitted her acceptance letter last May (2017) but had to wait until September for visa! However, if you look at her dates it was still processed within 36 months of lodgement - not sure what the processing times were forecast back then. It will happen - but we just have to keep waiting! M
  8. We lodged 11/03/15. After we submitted AoS letter of acceptance on 03/05/18 we received an email saying that we would be allocated a case officer soon and that they would 'appreciate our patience at this time'! Not heard anything since. . . . July?????? Will let you all know if hear before then
  9. Hi Tiding! I don't think anyone knows the answer to this question. If you look at my dates you will see that I - and others- are in a similar position. We just have to wait (as patiently as we can !). If you look at Cat Lady's dates you will see that she had her AoS acceptance letter last May (2017) but had to wait until September for 2nd VAC request and visa! At least we are at the final stage -others are still waiting for case officers. Regards
  10. Morning All! Thanks CAT LADY and SEAMUS for your comments and replies. Four months, Cat Lady! How frustrating! Hope the wait was worth it? SEAMUS - good luck with your application. One question: How do you know they are 'finalising' apps up to end of April?? In the test email it only tells you the lodgement date of apps they are 'assessing' not 'finalising'. Cheers
  11. Hello! This is a question for CAT LADY. I notice that there was a four month gap between your AoS acceptance letter and the request for 2nd VAC. Do you know the reason why there was such a long delay? Were you applying for 143 visa? Were you already resident in Australia? Cheers
  12. Hello Everyone! I am new to this thread - as a contributor - but have been viewing the thread since the 'Orphan' days. I loved Orphan's blog, as it was so informative and well-written and I was sorry to see him go. However, that was in 2014 (if memory serves) and things have changed - somewhat. My story (briefly): Back at the end of 2014, both daughters were in Australia, one with citizenship and the other awaiting permanent residency (now received) but they were both single and at the back of my mind I had convinced myself that, eventually, they would come home. My partner suggested that I ask (with no emotional baggage) to tell me honestly what their plans were. So they told me . . . honestly. At the beginning of 2015 we started to get the paperwork ready to apply for 143 visa and we lodged it in March 2015. A year later we sold the house to release money for the visa. Back then we thought we would have to wait 24 months - hahaha! The waiting and sending off 'Test' emails and being in turn heartened and dejected began. As you ALL know - once you have made this decision - your life changes totally. My partner is still working, but I stopped when we sold the house, to move into rented near to where he works. But - no matter what you do - work, hobbies, voluntary work, socialising - it is always at the back of your mind and often at the very front - dancing around, evilly!! Then on 5/01/18 we were contacted to supply the usual extra paperwork.(How anyone passes the medicals without their blood pressure going through the roof is beyond me!) Extra blood tests were required - more stress and expense. Then the AoS experience. My daughter duly went to Centrelink with all the paperwork on 9/01/18. True to their word a telephone interview was carried out seven weeks later. Two weeks after that she was asked to pay the bond, etc. The bank guarantee was then submitted to Centrelink on 12/03/18. Then we waited for the Acceptance Letter . . . . and waited . . . . and waited. Five weeks later my daughter, after being put on hold for an hour, managed to talk to someone at Centrelink who read a message to her from the AoS team. They said that there was an eighteen week wait from lodgement. When she asked which lodgement date - the person at the other end of the phone said 18 weeks from lodgement of bank guarantee in March!! I had to stay in bed all morning. BUT - she was given the wrong info! It was 18 weeks since original lodgement in January! Last Thursday we received the AL and promptly sent it off. I had an email today acknowledging it and saying a case officer would be assigned soon. No idea how long it will be now. Reading all your interesting info makes me think it might be July and the new financial year. This whole process requires immense patience and fortitude (even though you could almost chew your own hand off in frustration at time). I feel so lucky to be in the position to be able to apply in the first place - and I have to keep reminding myself of this fact. Now we are on the last leg I feel much more relaxed and resigned to waiting. My appreciation to the overworked people at Centrelink and PVC. Thank you for your efforts and for keeping us informed when you can!!
