Hi all I applied for citizenship from Melbourne in June 2020 and this morning received my invitation to interview! I have an emailed scan of my birth certificate but not the real hard copy. Will this suffice or do I need to get my parents to send it from the UK? Thanks

Hi everyone! Has anyone had any luck / any insights into timelines for Vic? For reference, I submitted my application in June 2020 in Melbourne. Keen to hear other people’s experiences so far in Melbourne. Thanks a lot

Hi all I applied for citizenship from Melbourne on June 15th. Based on everyone’s experiences/knowledge, does anyone have any indication or guess as to when my application might get looked at? Currently sitting on ‘Received’ and not sure of current timelines Any advice or insights would be awesome Thanks!

If it helps anyone, I never had private healthcare only Medicare and my 186 got approved last month. Appreciated it's different for everyone but thought maybe my experience might put someone at ease ?

Good luck! It took 7 months and 10 days for mine, so hopefully you're only a few months off if my timeline is a guideline!

Haha!! She's** ? Amazing feeling, stared at my screen for ages in shock and then was really shaky before I told anyone!! Haha yes, I was wondering what I'd spend my days checking/researching now, but now I can start finding out stuff about that haha! Draaaanks in Melbourne tonight! No doubt I'll be feeling tomorrow like you were once yours was granted!!

Thank you! Yes I used a MA. You can't check your nomination only your visa application. I think mine were approved at the same time with no further documentation asked. You need to import it. I checked it any my status turned to finalised, so I checked messages and the grant was there, then my MA emailed me within half an hour - I must've seen it just as it updated on my account!

Haha - thank you! I think I just got lucky to be honest, 7 months is pretty quick but I'd actually stopped checking my account so much and was just checking this forum!

I feel really lucky. I totally felt the pain of it regardless though so can't even imagine how others feel who have been waiting even longer than me. I'll definitely be having a few glasses (bottles) of bubbles tonight!! Best of luck for yours ?

THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME!!!! VISA GRANTED!!!! Lodged: 21/12/2017 Visa: 186 Direct Entry Occupation: Recruiter Grant Date: 31/07/2018 No info asked for, assuming nomination and visa granted at the same time - logged onto my Immi account and saw status changed to Finalised, clicked Messages and saw the grant!! Could not be happier!! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else, I totally understand how frustrating it is waiting but I trust you'll all get your good news soon!!

I'm in Melbourne. Yes please do and vice versa! At least we're in the same boat - I know we haven't been waiting overly long but Recruiters seem to get approved pretty quickly so thought mine was taking some time in comparison - good to know we're in the same position!

I wouldn't. To be honest I think anyone that applied in 2018 that has received grants are extremely lucky. I'm in the same boat as you - mine was lodged in December 2017, there are people in this forum though that lodged as far back as 2016 that haven't heard back yet. As a guess though from what I've seen and heard in this forum and others, is that people receiving grants now tend to have lodged June-August 2017.
