  1. I know the pain and frustration of the wait combined with the no news then some progress followed by scary news followed by nothing then amazing news! Basically it's a hard but well trodden road and all you can do is follow others and hope that your journey gets you to the same destination; the ability to have a future with the one you found love with despite the distance.
  2. If it's any help; my timeline for the pmv300 was...application lodged August 2017...didn't hear anything until December 2017....then request from immi for more information (police and medical) medical failed and deferred sent in more test results by end of December .....didn't hear anything else..24th January visa granted! ? activated April 2018....married June 2018....starting application for onshore partner visa 800 now I am UK my husband (?) is Aus . I applied from UK using an agent in Australia. Have to get the second part lodged by October!
  3. Awww well done! ? and goes without saying good luck! Hopefully it won't be too long now xx
  4. Wow definitely close but the wedding in Bali is surely worth waiting for ? gradually getting used to this new life here myself I'm sure it's different for everyone but the same in that basically we all want the same thing...to be able to be with the one we love and that makes everything worthwhile x
  5. Hi Nikisha, haven't heard anything this end re more sponsorship changes. Due to start the part 2 application soon so I guess I'll know more then ? also about the bridging visa too as I know I will probably need one given next stage processing times but also unsure how that works. Hope things are going well with you, when do you move here yourself?
  6. I can only imagine! My situation was slightly different..I'd had to sell before I could apply (the two things were only loosely connected) but the worry of maintaining a living of sorts while waiting was difficult..please do let us know how you get on ?
  7. Great news and good luck! It's really hard not knowing and just waiting, I remember searching the forums all of the time for anything or anyone with a similar situation to see if I could get an idea of what to expect. ?
  8. Thanks hun ? it actually feels quite surreal. We had a lovely day and just how I hoped but like most on here after so long it's taking a while to sink in, as you say now it's back to reality and the next lot of paperwork ?
  9. So pleased everything is going well so far, the money is always a worry until you have it ready. I can't help with the Facebook stuff and I'm not very technical but I did submit some Skype transcripts through the agent and I think I did them the same way as Nikisha says and that worked for me too ? quick update here...We finally tied the knot last weekend (16/6) ? still can't believe it!
  10. Feeling slightly jealous as I'm all for dotting I's and crossing T's myself..only consolation is that for the next part I'll be on site to double check his ??
  11. Hi CEP, Sorry for the delay only just seen your post..I applied for the 300 visa from the UK via an agent in oz our timeline was 5 months 14 days! We lodged the application in August, medical and police checks requested December, visa granted January ? got married in Australia last weekend.
  12. If it's any consolation Angelpie, my oh didn't have a clue half of the time what he was doing either ? I'm sure it was more by luck than judgement he got some of it right lol xx
  13. Hi there, If it's any help we received my oh police check request when I got my request for medical and police checks and I believe it's an afp which is federal?! Best wishes
  14. Yes, so right a great place for tips and info. and to hear from others in the same situation. it's easy to feel isolated when you're going through this process I find that friends and family ? although sympathetic don't always understand why even the smallest details can be important ? xx ? cheers!
  15. Best of luck for your wedding ? too ? exciting times. You're welcome to ask any questions - we're all more or less in the same situation here ? I came over with just the one case (the biggest that met the size reg. it weighed in at 28kg - the allowance was 30 lol ?) and a cabin case with my wedding dress in it. I've left the rest of my possessions in long term storage for the time being as my oh already has a home here and there wasn't anything we really needed atm x
  16. ? yes indeed did you get your wedding date sorted in the end?? It's really confusing (the dates for everything and run out times) isn't it? ? I'm already collecting evidence for the next part which I know we have to have done by October, which sounds like ages but with the wedding and everything else I think could seem to come around quite quickly! ☺xx
  17. Thanks Hibiscus Dreams ? good to hear your medical went well and fingers crossed ? your application progresses too xx
  18. Hi Nikisha, I got my visa granted in January and our wedding is booked for June ☺ x
  19. Awww thanks hunni ☺ and will do..you too let us know how it goes it's always good to see peoples updates ☺ had a busy couple of days here getting formal stuff done; bank, driving licence etc while oh has been off work to ferry me around ☺ but having a break now xx
  20. So, heads up to everyone and hoping ?everything is going well for you all. I really understand from experience how scary the process can be (not all of mine was straightforward my medical that was referred being one ?) but finally I can say it has been worth it all so far! I arrived here in Australia on Saturday no problem at the border and am settling in with my oh ? looking forward to our wedding. I'm viewing this as a bit of a break from all the form filling but am also mindful and already collecting evidence for the next stage. best wishes Spangle xx
  21. Sorry can't be much help with this we used an agent and I got a request for my medical and our police checks 4 months after the application was lodged xx
  22. yep I was the same having got the stuff certified for the registration (and realising the minimal cost ?) it wasn't difficult to do the same for the visa docs too and at least it proves that the document you're presenting is the real thing (as seen by a third party, the solicitor) ? xx
  23. No question is silly when you're trying to find your way through this process ? I'm not actually sure what the right answer to this is (if there is one) all I can offer is personal experience and basically anything that required certified copies I got done before scanning and sending to our agent ? xx I now obviously have a file of originals with their certified copy but figure at least if I'm asked for either I'll be able to produce them x
  24. Well done getting the registration forms ? hope it goes well. As for the medical and police check all I would add is remember that they are only valid for 12 months and check what that means to your eventual visa timeline (I'm still not sure how that works myself) It's really only the Australian Stat Dec's that count (hence the form 888) but we put in 3 from people in the UK who had spent time with us together anyway and 2 of those were certified along with the persons I.D by solicitors. Hope that helps ? (only costs a couple of £)
