  1. We know exactly what they will say Tina.... the only thing different will be the processing date.....as I said in our earlier post " a fob off " letter Sensitive Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your e-mail. The cases you refer to are likely those who have been given pre-assessment letters advising that the clients may commence the process of obtaining documents before official assessment if they wish to do so. As these letters are sent by numerous case officers, the person with the list of applications including the date 23/04/2015 may not have reached that stage yet. However, I can confirm that we are currently officially processing applications lodged on 09/04/2015. Therefore, as the below application is due to be allocated for assessment within the next couple of weeks, you can expect the official Request for Documents letter to be e-mailed to you soon.
  2. You never know Sadge....got to be worth a few seconds of our time to sign though eh.
  3. Apart from acknowledgement email 1/5/15 nothing..... some people were invited to submit docs early, some like us not so lucky.... Believe me our email is correct ( we had to let them know our Son and his family moved out there in 2016 and we got an email to confirm they had received the update ). We did email them when we saw other people around our lodgement date submitting docs but just got a "fob off" email in return. Obviously we will chase up if we don't hear anything after they start processing after our lodgement date but at the moment it still stands at 20/04/15.
  4. TinaH and Whataday.... at least you have submitted docs etc.... our lodgement date is more or less the same as yours and we have heard nothing in 35 months, despite being told Visas are issued in lodgement date order (which we know is untrue) we have seen others get their visas issued with lodgement dates later than ours. One thing I have learned during this process is not to try and second guess immi...... It's a government department.... it is what it is and it will take as long as they want and we can't do a thing about it. On a lighter note....Does anybody watch " Nothing to Declare "....... Am I the only person to shout at the TV when somebody tries to smuggle a case load of dried food into Oz and they only get a $200 fine. On another track... I'm sure everyone from England is aware that when they move to Australia their UK state pension will be frozen. For those of you who think this is unfair there is a petition at https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/stop-freezing-overseas-state-pensions you can sign..... not too sure if it will do any good but at least you would have done something to let the UK government know how you feel.

  6. Our lodgement date is 23 4.15.... we have not heard anything from immigration.... immigration say visa's are issued in strict date order but you can see from some posts on PIO this is just not true.... Seems government departments are the same the world over and unfortunately we are all at their mercy.
  7. We have a application date of 23/4/15 and we are still waiting for contact with the immigration dept.... their latest automatic email said they are processing applications up to 9/4/15 .. that was on the 1/2/18 and that date still hasn't changed... It does seem some applicants are lucky enough to hear something a lot sooner than others but I suppose that is the luck of the draw.....
  8. Hi Alan, What's your thoughts on some applications being processed months ahead of others submitted on the same date when even on the immi web site they say they are done in strict rotation?
  9. Yea, our daughter filled out Form 40 and sent it of with our application back in 04/2015.... Silly me thought that would be it apart from maybe a phone call or email to her.... looks like she has a bit more form filling to do if she wants a babysitter on call.
  10. Hi Pertenhall, You say your daughter is doing your AoS... what exactly does this involve for her? our daughter is sponsoring us and filled in the form that went off with our application to basically say she could support us etc... what else does she have to do when the time comes?
  11. Thanks Garfuk....Good to get this sort of feed back..... doubt if many of us are in A1 condition...
  12. Today marks the first day of the newly formed Department of Home Affairs. Home Affairs brings together Australia's federal law enforcement, national and transport security, criminal justice, emergency management, multicultural affairs and immigration and border-related functions and agencies, working together to keep Australia safe. This was on the 20th December...... As future Australian Citizens ( eventually ) is everybody aware of this.
  13. Lucky you, our acknowledgement date was 23/4/15 and still not heard anything....
  14. great news for you... best Christmas present you could get eh! lucky lucky you.
  15. Thanks for that.. all makes sense now, good luck in the future hope all goes well.
  16. Rahulshanker.... where are you based mate, you say you got a phone call from Centrelink.... I was under the impression that they spoke to and interviewed the Sponsor, not the applicant.... are you in Oz or UK?
  17. Deep gloom SusieRoo... lets all forget about it and enjoy Christmas..... ( that's not gonna happen eh! )
  18. Still very early, if the AOS was approved yesterday after a 9 week wait... good luck to you though, just a bit of a downer after applying with the idea it would take up to 2 years and now in our ( and lots of other applicants ) 32nd month in the "waiting "room and not a word.
  19. How can this be when Immi are only now processing applications up to 11 March 2015.... Is this because they used a MA? I was told it made no difference.. applications were processed by date received . Anyone any ideas.
  20. I think this info is required due to money laundering regulations... I opened an account and have sent money to Oz, once I got the a/c number wrong but the next day they contacted me, I checked and supplied the correct a/c number and funds arrived safely ... all done on line very easily. I know what you mean though about supplying personnel details.. I suppose you just got to go with what you are happy with, it's still a great site for checking exchange rates though even if you haven't got an account.
  21. I'd agree with this.... once you have chosen a dealer you are happy with go with it and don't look again... 0.05 of a cent on your exchange rate can add up to a great deal of money on life savings or money from a house sale and the exchange rate fluctuates by the second. It does look as if the overall trend is going in the right direction but when I started this journey it was 2 to the GBP..... happy days.
