Just a thought. If only one parent applied for a 143 visa and they moved to Australia after visa was granted. Could the second parent then immediately apply for a partner visa (with bridging entitlement)? Significantly cheaper and no need for a second AoS, what could go wrong?

until PR holder doesn't become settled PR holder he/she could not sponsor anyone and it takes around a year to be

I think they're just slow updating the processing date on the email. The info in this forum and other immigration forums shows they're processing applications beyond the 20-april-2015 date listed in the email.

The fact that people like me are getting invitations to complete AoS/medical/police clearance shows there's definitely been progress in the past 2 months, even though the email date has been static.

    Hi thomas,

Did you get mail from PVC team 1?

I really cannot understand the disparity in the AoS processing times.  There is Thomas 1965 who has his interview within 1 day of submitting the docs and then approval after 4 days and here we are still waiting for a call after over 14 weeks.  Some people seem to get action if they call Centrelink, but we have called and sent e-mails all to no avail.  Anyone got any suggestions?  We are getting desperate here!

@zelda It's awful. But u gotta wait even we  had phone call this Monday after 15 weeks. And as our AOS has been going according old nomes they have to do everything manually.

    Good luck ?

    Hi Folks

Although I have been visiting this thread frequently and learning a great deal from every one's experience, this is the first time I am writing. My wife and I applied for 143 visa in January 2017. At that time our son had been in Australia for 3 years and was settled. He is now thinking of returning to the UK. My question is: by the time our application is considered if our son is not in Australia and has returned to the UK, could we get another friend for the AOS and still get our 143? It is an unusual question but  I am sure there may be someone else who has had a similar experience.

As far as I know AoS sponsor could be anyone *not sure PR holder or must be Citizen.

@Wishfull Your figure is certainly closer to my calculations.  I can't understand where we went wrong.  The big thing that I am feeling desperate about is the lack of communication.  If our daughter doesn't fulfil the requirements (as it is now obvious that she doesn't) why on earth can't they tell us so that we can get moving with additional assurers.  Will they just sit on the application and say nothing, other than you have to wait!!

I am week ago than you still nothing. All the best Peter.

I can't quite see what difference there is after checking this out. Could you explain? The income requirement goes up slightly every year I think and the increase from two to three years for family visas won't affect parent visa which already has a 10 year wait period for benefits surely?

@Zaki perhaps you will not hear about visa till immi are processing dates nearer  to your lodgement  date in May 2015. They are still only processing dates in April but quite a lot of people were asked to prepare things early so maybe as soon as your date nears it will go through quickly?

Until and unless my AoS wouldn't sinked out, immi wouldn't ask me for 2nd VAC. Those who are in April que have got everything done so it won't take too long.

@Zaki ~ lolz the visa is for my parents not me. What make you so sure that I’ll be contacted in a week time? If it is as what you said, I assume I couldn’t sleep for a week becoz of happiness.

You can see there are a lot of people lodged in March submitted all requested docs and now they are still waiting for their turn to be assessed. So it’s very hard to predict when your turn will be.

Now all we can do is sitting still and enjoy the ride. We all know that we’ll reach the destination, it’s just a matter of time - 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or even 4 years.

This weekend is Easter holiday then daylight saving. We all can have a break and not thinking about visa for these 4 days. Phew!!!

Miracles happen everyday ?. There are ppl who are not in the assesing queue got 2nd VAC Request. So Have faith

DIBP is unpredictable. Auto generated requests have stopped notifying ppl. Before end of this migration year they would sink in mid '15 applications I guess ?

I’ve got AOS acceptance letter in MyGov account after the phone interview and bond payment. Centerlink didnt post it out. So please make sure you ask your son to check his MyGov account regularly.

@TinaH for you it’s just matter of a week I am damn sure I cross your signature before 36 months u will be granted Permanent residency. ?. I don’t know what’s wrong with my AoS. @MikenC applied  AoS after me but Here No Ring No Call No show ?

The one lodged on 9/5/15 being requested 2nd VAC was purely luck. As far as I am aware, there was another application lodged at 1/4/2015 has been granted a few weeks ago! (Not in the forum) however most of applications lodged in April are waiting for CO and 2nd. I think it is purely the current management of visa 143 in term of the proceeding period at PVC Team1 .  It has been notified on DIBP website that current processing time for 143 is 38-39 months therefore ours will not be released to be finalised too soon I reckon. You are not the only one in this situation. I bet there are heaps of applications including mine are waiting for the next step (even thought all docs including AOS completed )

After weeks, there must be a huge patch to be released. Towards the financial year, DIBP also wants to speed up. We are just those who are stuck btw

I would say u both will be requested for 2nd VAC straight after Easter. Eventually it would be 36 months time frame to tuck applications up. At least u guys have your AoS so No need to worry much. Enjoy Easter then delete cookies from browser and  scroll down for tickets ?
