"OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 143/173)
When your application is allocated to an assessing officer, you or your authorised contact may be asked to provide more documents, including but not limited to, Assurance of Support (subclass 143 only), police certificates and health clearances to finalise your application.
We are currently assessing applications lodged up to and including 20 April 2015."I can only speak from my own experience, but when I was invited to submit AoS, Police, medical etc, I believe that would have been at assessing officer stage, which was long before I was allocated a Case Officer. From memory, I don't think I had a CO until right up to the request for the second visa charge. Maybe the assessing officer stage is DIBP's way of getting everything in place and ready for the Case Officer so that you can then proceed quickly afterwards. At least, that's the theory - but as we know, nothing in the 143 visa proceeds "quickly" anyway.
I echo! If we check properly two types of Streamline DIBP might have applied. 1) if you requested to submit docs in 28 days as per my knowledge your Application has been assigned to Co
2)'Invitation to commence docs' This is I guess Auto generated mail from DIBP No specific info about CO.
me and my sponsors have been waiting for a long time for AoS even though we got invitation earlier ?
Can anyone guide me For AoS we applied on 23rd December 2017 Still out of our hand *sigh

Something is not right here and you can see other applicants around your lodgement date have already been processed.
If I were in your situation I would on the phone to Centrelink every day. Or better still, get your sponsor to call in person and just keep pushing.
It's now painfully clear Centrelink is in a big mess and you can't take anything for granted. Unfortunate you need to take action and keep calling until they do something.
Same things been going though. It's been nearly 11 weeks of my AoS. My sister visited Centrelink Rockdale Branch Twice Last week and Rang up in the noon But they are chanting only ' We have already sent reminder mail u gotta wait'.

Their agent emailed them yesterday, they have requested, amongst a couple of other things, an update to their form 80 as the form was originally included at the time of lodgement. We have already done the AOS and they have completed medicals and police checks as per a request back in October. They were advised at that time they did not have a CO and it was to get everything in order for when they were allocated a CO.
@Mrs Depp Erm.. I guess it's Yes because if you have already got 'Preparation to commence docs' mail and now Department is Corresponding to your agent Clearly Ur application is in the pipeline

Yes, this is very unfair. It feels like they don’t follow any fixed plan and its just potluck when your case is processed.
Back in the day when the queue was only 12 months, none of this mattered, but now there is really a need for a fair and transparent, numbered queuing system.
We started this process when immi was stating 12 to 18 months, now they say 38 months. But now I fear it will take us 4 years and much longer for new applicants.
The Australian budget is coming around again soon and this is the time when the annual cap could be simply increased to reduce the queuing time (but I’m not holding my breath).
4 years and Prolly High amount of VACs

HAVE A GUESS WHEN THE NEXT UPDATE FOR PROCESSING DATE WILL BE?
I guess it'll be end of February (next week). What about everyone?
Hi Tina,
Same thing happened in August 2017?. Approximately for 40-45 days processing time did not roll up. First It was 25th November 2014 then it jumped off to 10th December 2015

Hi guys
I am new here.
Let me briefly share my journey so far.
Applied VISA 143 for my mum in 2015.
Lodgement date was 24/04/2015
Early invitation to commerce docs email received on 06/12/2017 ( AOS, Medical, police check and Health Check)
So far, all of those docs have been completed and acknowledged by PVC team 1 .
No CO assigned yet.
Received an email from PVC team 1 last month mentioning that my mum application will not be assessed ahead of others due to their strict policy even thought all of requested docs have been done. It was also advised in the email that ours will be more likely be assessed and finalised in the next 3-6 weeks
Cheers
All the best to all of us
Hi,
I am just behind ya ! Still waiting for the phone from centralink.
Expecting bliss of 2nd Vac after Easter ?

Hi All
First of all, a big thanks to all of you here for helping people with your experience.
I have applied for 143 for my parents on 30/05/2017. I know I have another 12-18 months before dept will pickup my file.
From other people signatures, I gather first thing is to prepare for Medicals/AOS/Police Checks. Is there anything I can do to prepare myself to send these things back asap.
Can someone please provide more details or refer to a link giving step by step process for Medical/AOS/Police checks? or I just have to wait for request with all details? Thanks
Secondly, once Permanent residency is granted, do parents have to live continuously here to ensure it does not expire. Are there any requirements?
My parents may still prefer to continue to live in India even after the grant of 143 visa. I have applied for this visa to cover for the risk if they want to come here when they are too old. Thanks in advance for your help.
You can't do anything Until u get email from DIBP subjected "Preparation to commence docs" and I really hope they would not increase processing time Fgs! Mah each and every document is ready everything except AoS and I gotta wait till case officer allocated once AoS in hand and Co is allocated then we just have to count days and Haa as per my knowledge parents or parents with dependents 'First entry' should be together I guess ?
Happy Sunday! Cheers

Hi everyone, just did a test email and immi are processing up to and including March 31st 2015.
lets hope it carries on improving.
Aside, people who have applied in February 2015 are not granted visa.so ultimately it would be 36 months clearly. Nevertheless, On 2 months frequency the processing time gets increased.

Those who have applied in February 2015 guys keep updating us!

Hi All
I agree with the PVC having different teams. When we received our request for medicals etc. at the bottom of the e-mail it did state that the e-mail came from PVC Team1.
Anyone else with perhaps any other team number?
Our lodgement date was 25 Feb 2015 and received our request for medicals on 22 November 2017.
I have to mention that a whole lot of people who applied a couple of months after us, received their requests long before we did. There was a big difference though. They were 'invited to start preparing' whilst our letter clearly stated "Request for documents" and gave us 28 days within which to submit.
Perhaps there is a new process allowing folks more time to get all their documents ready and a few of us perhaps are too close to being processed to be afforded that luxury and have to run off to the panel clinics etc.
I hope that we could get clarity about this theory somehow because I have to admit, I honestly thought they must have forgotten about us or we did something wrong when so many people with application dates later than us got their requests and I did feel very jealous and neglected.
Hope this somehow helps a bit.

When my MA sent email d subject was "Preparation to commence docs" also she narrated that it's upto me and mah family to proceed now for docs (Form 80, medicals, Pcc, AoS) or else when Co would be allocated (most probably in April) there is no time bound of 28 days
