  1. If you get pregnant before the medical you can put your visa on hold and add them to the same visa, if you get pregnant after visa grant and decide to have the baby in the UK you would have to apply for a separate child visa. You have to activate the 189 visa within a year of it being granted (I think) and before your PCC and medicals expire so our first PCC was 30th Nov so we're aiming to at least visit Oz before then Hope that makes sense! It's all so complicated!!
  2. Hi, I don't have any helpful information but we have been wondering the same thing. You might also have to factor in maternity pay as it's only for 18 weeks in Australia... We've decided to try for baby no. 2 while still in the UK and if it happens we'll decide whether to have it in Oz or do a quick trip over, come back and apply for the child visa. It took us a while to catch with no. 1 so we have no idea what is going to happen but we just had our medicals so aiming to head over summer next year.. Good luck with what you decide x
  3. I hope so..! Made me wonder if I'd forgotten something lol
  4. Hi all Has anyone had acro contact them to query their identity? I'm really concerned, I have no criminal history but I received an email asking me to confirm this? They asked this because they want to ensure they have the correct persons details? My husband just received his certificate as well which makes me worry even more! Thanks Vicky

    Dog friendly?

That is a big difference in climate! Glad he was OK and settled in his new life, its good to know mine isn't the only one who is with company most of the time and its good to hear yours was fine when he arrived i bet the welcome you received was lovely...!

    Dog friendly?

Poor thing, that would definitely be like Toby. I go dog training every Sat morning and he cries when I walk 20 feet away and ask him to stay

    Dog friendly?

You're making me nervous again lol. We've just had his passport and rabies done to give us options on time frame, we're hoping to head out in June so he could come shortly after us or later. Give everyone chance go adapt to the climate.. I think I'll need some calming tablets throughout his journey as well as my own! X

    Dog friendly?

Thanks all, sorry I've been having problems trying to reply! I think we'll see if we can leave him with someone temporarily while we get settled and suss it out, I'm not sure how I'd feel permanently leaving him but if we're there I should get an idea what might be best for him. If he will have more walks and a better life in the UK with someone I trust I may have to consider this

    Dog friendly?

He's 3.5 and only needs about an hour of exercise a day. Definitely doable with the routine we have, it's more about what work we find and the commute time, and activities with children on the weekend That's Probably it - maybe ask my mum initially so we can get settled and figure out whether he would be ok and decide then.. Thanks all

    Dog friendly?

That's a good idea getting pheromones while still here, might make him less anxious when we do go out . We do leave him but try to limit to around 3 hours at most a day. I'm probably worrying more than necessary and he would be fine whatever we decide, but this is by far the hardest decision! I didn't realise you had to go to a specific park to let them off lead - I figured it would be like the UK and you can go anywhere. I don't find it that friendly around here (South Wales) so concerning it is potentially worse there.. Thanks for all the information, we've got some time to think before starting the process so have to discuss how everything would work for both options and go from there

    Dog friendly?

Thanks Amber - I forgot about roads and pavements being hot. It was pretty bad during the heatwave here and I guess it would be similar for longer there. On the plus he was knackered more so didn't as much exercise lol I have asked the vet and in contact with pet Air, they said they will put relaxing smelly things in the crate but he'll be nervous and 'aggressive' around other dogs at quarantine due to fear so worried about that too My mum said she would have him but also said she would visit 3 months of the year?! I don't know how I feel about leaving him, but want what's best for him.!

    Dog friendly?

Hi all Just wondering, how dog friendly is it in Australia? Perth in particular.. I read on here it's not really? We take our dog whenever we can as he suffers from separation anxiety. Will we struggle taking him places or if everything is outdoors is it OK to take him with? I'm starting to worry about him on the whole journey too so if anyone can advise on nervous dogs and how they seemed I'd appreciate it loads!
  13. Thanks Judy, now the dilemma about whether to get them done now or wait!!
  14. Hi guys, sorry just wondered.. Do they do a lung test where you blow into the tube thing? My husband is worrying a bit as he had an op as a baby and will prob fail!
  15. That's the main one I used it was fab! Seemed to be a lot about structure and timing, I guess because a computer is marking it they look for certain phrases..
  16. I used YouTube, there's loads of videos that explain the structure the answer needs to follow for each question. Seems to be critical to passing.. There's a lot of practice questions too.. Good luck!
  17. Yeah sure. Although you will probably beat us to the move judging by visa processing times - I was so naive thinking it would be a lot quicker! Still, at least we've started the ball rolling.. Hopefully you will love Sydney as much as you loved Perth. Otherwise you can always head back to WA? X
  18. Hi Hannah, We didn't bother pursuing it in the end, we've decided to apply for a 189 visa and head to Perth when the time comes. I loved Sydney we just decided it might be too busy and expensive for us. I have heard construction/ infrastructure is booming on the east coast - hoping it'll pick up on the west coast before we plan the move! Are you heading to Sydney from Perth or the UK? Hope it works out for you, shame we're not going as my daughter is 16 months now! X
  19. I don't think you do, I sent an email to my migration agent confirming my new employment details, they just asked for my p45 ?
  20. when i discussed it with my agent he said to let them know as soon as we know so they can tell the case officer. I am not sure whether you should communicate this now or keep quiet, complete the paperwork and invite as normal and let them know in a month or so. I would definitely continue with the invite though, is there an option to email/add a note? from my understanding they continue processing everything as per usual but your visa will go on hold from when they request the medical.. X
  21. congratulations! i asked my agent this is we are trying for a baby while waiting for an invite etc.. He said exactly what Sarah has said, if before medical this will be put on hold until baby has been born. If after medical you can either plan to have the baby in Oz or apply for a child visa good luck with you pregnancy X
  22. i passed!! Can't quite believe it.. I ended up revising sat next to my husband while he watched TV.. I work in an office which probably helps too.. definitely couldn't have done it without the e2 structure advice.. Onto getting an invite now! good luck everyone looking to take the test soon, its not easy. i would say don't rush, even if you finish the question early take the time to get ready for the next question..
  23. Thank you so much for posting about the E2language lectures on youtube.. I have my PTE on Thursday and really nervous - currently going through them - they are brilliant! If I don't get 79's I'll definitely consider doing the extra training they offer :-)
  24. wow that is expensive! I knew it would be but that's shocked me!! i think you guys put me off it completely on one of my other posts lol i haven't forgotten Newcastle though - that will still be an option!
  25. Yeah, we decided to hold fire on Sydney and wait to get a PR visa and head to Perth. Various reasons behind our decision - I think my husband would struggle for work if I was sponsored We were worried about house prices in Sydney We really liked Perth and know a few people there already which will hopefully make settling a little easier.. Have you been to either?
