  1. My day has finally arrived. We have been granted our Permanent Resident Visa’s DE 186 4 people LR Sales & Marketing Manager Nomination lodged 18th October 2016 Visa Lodged 18th October 2016 Nomination granted 1st September 2017 Further information requested for visa on 1st September 2017 Visa granted 4th October 2017 We are so happy and relieved. It’s been a tough 6 Months for us especially since all of the legislation visa changes and I know how everyone is feeling. Good luck all and keep the faith.
  2. Hi, As long as you are on a 457 visa and have had two years continuous employment with your current employer in your current role. If so then no issue. I have listed the criteria below. You might be able to get this visa under the Temporary Residence Transition stream if you: hold a Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) have at least competent English (unless you are exempt from this requirement) worked for at least two out of the previous three years (before the nomination is made) in the same position your employer nominated you for while you held your subclass 457 visa as the primary visa holder, your employer has nominated you for a permanent position under this stream, and the nomination has been approved. Your skills do not need to be assessed because you have already worked for your nominating employer for two years in Australia.
  3. Hi All, Just to give you an update on what my IMMI account now says. It has gone from received to Information requested.
  4. Hi, They expired 15th August. At least they have allocated the file now.
  5. Hi, I had my nomination approved yesterday, but they asked me for new Australian police certificates as they had expired. Get the certificates asap. For me I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. 186 de lodged 18th oct 2016. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  6. Hi all, I have had my nomination approved today. They have requested new Australian police certificates as mine had expired. Finally i see the light at the end of the tunnel. Nomination and Visa Lodged 18th October 2016 DE 186 LR (4 People) Sales & Marketing Manager. I will let you all know when my visa has been approved. Good luck all
  7. Hi Praveen, I asked the exact same question and my MA gave me the following answer: "The case officer has the discretion to accept outdated medicals and overseas police clearances however they will not finalise applications where the Australian Federal Police clearances has expired. As such, if we have not heard back from the Department by the time your Australian police clearances has expired we will advise that you complete the Australian clearances again."
  8. Hi all, Major panic last Friday when the department announced retrospective legislation changes which would of deemed my DE186 visa that was lodged in October 2016 as invalid as it did not meet new legislation passed on 1st July. After much lobbying by various businesses, they have decided now not to apply legislation retrospectively. Anyway i got this email today from my MA "We have good news! We received confirmation late yesterday afternoon that the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will only be applying the new legislative instrument to ENS / RSMS applications lodged from 1 July 2017 onwards. This means that your application which was lodged prior to 1 July, relying on the high salary exemption for skill, will still have access to this exemption and will be processed as normal. This information can be found here: http://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/1-July-2017-changes.aspx The DIBP has also indicated that it intends to look at this cohort and prioritise these applications where appropriate. As such, I have reviewed your file again and all your police clearances and medicals are still in date. We therefore hope to have a decision made on your application shortly" Hopefully i will receive that golden email in the near future.!!
  9. Jess, So i have been told today that i am no longer Skill exempt. My MA has just sent me this "At this stage your application is impacted by a law that was introduced on 1 July 2017 which now applies retrospectively to all applications under the direct entry stream relying on the skills exemption which are still pending approval" Not sure if this impacts you or not. I will now have to go through a skills assessment, which is not an issue but its another delay in the processing of the application. Have you done a skills assessment as a marketing specialist? if you did any watch outs. Thanks
  10. Hi Jess, I am onshore DE Applicant from UK (LR). I am also a high tax payer in Australia and i am now into my 9th Month since my application was lodged. I am skill exempt and English language exempt, i also have Fragoman as my MA. . I would conclude that occupation is the over riding factor in terms of priority. Marketing Specialist / Manager is simply not a occupation that IMMI needs to prioritise and i have come to terms that my application will take at least a minimum of 12 months if not longer.
  11. Hi, You can reapply immediately. You are probably aware that you also don't get a refund and will have to pay all costs associated with lodgement, and yes the processing timelines start again. Also note that the new visa requirements announced in April will also apply. I was exactly in the same position as you and I am 8 months into my new application and still waiting for my approval. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  12. Hi Jess, Yes you are right we just have to be patient. However looking at this site and others it seems there may be a case of IMMI prioritising applications depending on occupation and the sector you are employed in. Unfortunately for me and many others as Marketing Manager / Specialist and other roles are roles which on the surface are probably not a priority.
  13. Hi last week i posted regarding the extended processing timelines. My Nom and Visa were lodged on 18th October 2016. I asked my MA (Fragoman) a couple of questions reference my application and what impact the extended processing times would have on my application. Questions and answers are listed below: Q - When the application was lodged the processing times were considerably shorter. Does mine follow the new processing times or the ones that were published at the time of lodgement? A - The new processing times do apply to your application. These are global processing times that apply to all applications under the same subclass Q - We will soon be approaching 1 year for both police and health checks. Is there a time limit on these and if so do I need to redo both of them again? A - The case officer has the discretion to accept outdated medicals and overseas police clearances however they will not finalise applications where the Australian Federal Police clearances has expired. As such, if we have not heard back from the Department at the start of September we will advise that you complete the Australian clearances again. Thanks
  14. Agree OZ, I am a On shore DE applicant as well, i lodged both nomination and visa on 18th October, 2016. I have emailed my MA (Fragomen) for further clarification on police checks and health examinations if my application is not processed within 12 months. I will post the reply here.
  15. Looks like they have extended Visa processing times. Last updated 14th June by IMMI. The one that's been extended considerably is the 90% of allocations. For DE last month it was 10 months. Now it is 13 months!!! Basically they bought themselves further time as the majority of applications will fall into this extended void!. This will mean for a lot of people like me that i will possibly need to obtain new police checks and possibly health examinations. Processing time Processing time Stream 75 per cent of applications processed 90 per cent of applications processed Temporary Residence Transition stream 8 months 9 months Direct Entry stream 9 months 13 months Agreement stream 9 months 13 months Last updated 14 June 2017 (for month ending 31 May 2017)
  16. I have added my occupation on the spreadsheet Marketing Specialist and i am also onshore. I am expecting a longer wait for this to be approved compared maybe to other occupations. I am however exempt from the language and skills assessment which is good. which may or may not help speed up the process once they get around to allocating my file.
  17. Hi Sue, How did you find out that you had a CO? Did they notify you by email or did you phone them? I lodged 18th October and my status on the IMMi account is still showing as received.
  18. Hi All. New to the site. Will be adding my details to the spreadsheet. Nom and Visa lodged on 18th October 2016. DE, NSW , LR 4 people. Mine is though an MA (fragomen). Application still showing as received. No logic to how they allocate cases. Just have to be patient. But i agree with everyone that this waiting is so painful especially as they give you no updates what so ever.
