We are going to Brisbane. We should be hearing soon as we applied end June 2015. They’re processing end Feb 2015. It’s been interminable but hopefully it’ll come soon. Going for two months end Nov.

We are off then too! That’s gone up well. We are back end Jan. £ has had a good night last night in Asia. Sitting on $1.75. Might have some more legs in it yet. Difficult to tell. It’s totally Brexit and politics dominated now.

Does anyone else just feel like packing it all in occasionally? Susie’s post has made me want to jump in the harbour! It’s a bit cold though.

It’s a typo. I got the answer. Different case workers working at their own rates.

He knows that it he offered to email. If they don’t bet picked up “on time” what would be the reason? Does it happen?

It’ll be interesting to see when it gets picked up. We are not using an agent but if ours doesn’t get picked up I’ve got one lined up! End June for us. Keep us posted!

Re staffing numbers in Perth, if they bump up the cost significantly that is bound to reduce numbers. The 143 is expensive as it is and hammering future potential applicants is going to make more than a few think again. Watch out for a landslide of epic proportions once it gets out.

Minimal interest if paid off same day. No fees. It is a credit card. Full information on it from Halifax or Martin Lewis (MSE) on line. He says it’s one of the best ways of getting cash abroad. I have used it since he first suggested it

When we are visiting we use a Halifax Clarity Card in an ATM. The rate is good and there is no fee for the transaction. If you pay it off the same day interest is avoided. It is charged on a daily basis. Works well. Dreading the day we have to shift it all. £ needs to perk up so we need an interim deal on Brexit to lift it. Also most banks operate Sterling accounts where funds can be lodged till/if exchange rates improve.

Am I correct in thinking that the cost you eventually pay is the price quoted when original application is made? That being the case, it will trigger a landslide when news of appreciable increase breaks. They really need to augment the staff in Perth to deal with applications accepted.

I quite fancy a Jeep Renegade. They’re cheaper in Oz than here. Great for transporting kids.

I would have thought as long as they adhere to the terms of the ETA they’ll be fine. As far as I understand you can stay 3 months at a time. You then have to leave for a set period and can return. It’s all explained at Immi. We are going for a couple of months soon.

We have ours all filled in ready to send. They are in Brisbane with our daughter. Any updating can be done on the pdf form and emailed out when they ask for it. I hope that works!

Sounds like they’re organised! Great news. Checked the processing times yesterday. They are half way through February. Seems there has been some sort of initiative to get cracking in Perth. Let’s hope they keep it going.

I totally agree. I would suggest the people on What’s App stay on there if they’ve been happy with that. Those of us using this forum can proceed as before. It’s a superb forum so please let’s keep it that way. What’s App is for chatting. This forum is a specialised area for like minded people getting reassurance and comfort that they are not the only ones whose lives are on hold until Immi gets a grip. Please can we keep it that way!! Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
