Any idea what price Emirates/Etihad etc would charge for golf clubs? I'm moving to Sydney and was initially planning on putting my clubs in the container but it means I would be 3 months without them....and I am likely to be invited for a round or two before then. I've been to Perth twice in the last 18 months and absolutely loved it. I'm currently in the process of moving to Sydney, if I have the chance I'll spend some time in NSW Then look at getting to WA to settle down. True, it is pretty expensive but in comparison To my earnings- I can afford a 1-2 bed apartment in Sydney or a 4 bed house with pool and garden in Perth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best of luck on the move- I am looking down the very same route as you, similar circumstances- 457 visa, I'm from Cumbernauld and looking at all suburbs. My office will be based in McMahons point although I will be flying across Australia often. Suburb near CBD or Bondi would be ideal if you are based in mascot. I know Sydney property is crazy expensive, much more so than central Scotland but the lifestyle will make it all the more worth it.im sure the howgate centre, behind the wall and the Falkirk wheel will be distant memories in no time. good luck with your move

Thanks Rob as I am sure you will know- the stress factor can have a massive impact on trying to control IBD. i am sure my symptoms will come back under control- I've had this for 10 years without it ever getting worse and without any discussion about operations etc could you you advise on what the medical process involves? again- thanks for your reply

Hi all, First time poster but long term visitor to the forum. i have been offered a dream job in Sydney and I am beginning the employer sponsored 457 visa process. I have crohns colitis(never determined if it was CD or UC) and most of the time I am in remission. I have occasionally gone on a short term treatment with steroids for flare ups- usually less than once every 12-18 months and not usually for more than 5 or 6 weeks. I take Pentasa but this is something that's more preventative for other potential illnesses than one helping symptoms of IBD. over the last 6 or 7 weeks I have gone into a flare up, I am due to get a medical over the next month as I move in January. Can you guys advise me on a few things.... if if I go to my GP or nurse specialist and ask to go onto steroids- is this likely to have a negative effect on my medical? am I better to stay off medication just now (I can manage)? Also- what does the medical involve and based on the above, should I be worried about passing the medical? thanks in advance gary
