This is not the case we paid second VAC on 23rd March and are still waiting .

@palaceboy1 @Samvaz99 Just to clarify , I trying to help answer the question related to the receipt from DIPB. Not so much the timeline.

The case and example that I shared regarding my friend was prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

He got his visa at the end of Jan 2020.

Hi Guys, could someone advise if immigration send a receipt when 2nd VAC is paid.

I am waiting for 2nd VAC to be asked. Applied in Jan 2016

Hi @Samvaz99 I don't think they are asking anyone to pay the second VAC as they aren't finalising applications to issue visas. I belive this is mainly because the borders are still closed. No international travel is happening at the moment.

Guys The automated mail now does not show the message which it was showing earlier that processing of parent visa application is continuing however finalisation of visashave been put on hold?does that mean it is a good news?

If they removed the message might well be they start granting visas

    No idea what this means.

I hope it means that the processing will be as nornmal. Although, I doubt it. Mainly because people can't really fly in and out of most countries freeely as yet.

What does this mean processing visa 143 april 16 lol, i still do not have visa my file was lodged feb 21,2016

@nitz That is the crazy part of the whole processing timeline. I belive it all depends on the case officer's and how they work on their cases. The one that they share in the email is a generic timeline. There are so many May'16 applicants whose applications have been processeed . At the same time some April and older ones still open .

I don't know how the whole thing works. Perhaps some registered MARA agent can shed some light here. @Alan Collett Would you be able to share some insight please. Thanks !

Hi, I just sent the email to ask about processing visa 143 and I don't quite understand the explanation about visa 143 onshore and offshore. Is it right that the time line atm is April 2016 is applied for onshore only and they are trying to correct offshore application? Thanks for any contribution.

They are currently assessing 143 April'16 applications. I also seen in another forum that some March'16 applicants just got requested for further docs.

Hopefully your case will be pulled up soon for processing.

Great. Let's see what happens with Trans-Tasman Travel bubble.
Or even better they may just give PR to people who are here in OZ (waiting for 143......for ....... very very long) and not make them leave the country to get the PR.
FYI - My Mom is here and Dad is in NZ.

It would be fantastic if they were to consider parents who were already here and process the applications quicker without asking them to leave the country 🙂

@MELBNGSM we got the form 815 request to fill up few weeks ago too. We filled it up and sent it back. Do you think that might cause a problem and also is there a possibility of visa getting rejected/cancelled after making the 2nd vac payment and initially getting the grant and then later after travelling to Aus and doing the test with HUS where they decide the medicals requirement cannot be satisfied, will that lead to cancelling of the visa 143 and loss of approx $43k??

Any inputs or feedback on that will be much appreciated

@sub7er Just sharing my personal experience when I had my mum get her PR. The PR was already granted before she left the country to travel to AUS. At this stage you are already a permanent resident. The 815 form needs to be filled and you will have to conduct some additional tests (In my moms case it was a chest xray to make sure that some spots she had weren't tuberculosis related). Once we did the test it was all good. I don't think they will cancell anyones visa after paying the amount.

This is just an extra precautionary test as a follow-up on someting they may suspect as being a potential health condition.

You will also see this in the form 815.

  8. Here is what the new auto response says. They do say that processing is continuing. Finalisation is on hold for the moment.

    Hoping for the best !

    IMPORTANT NOTE

Processing of visa applications is continuing, however finalisation of many Parent Visa applications will be put on temporary hold. The situation will be reviewed in late May 2020, and further extension/s will be provided if necessary.

As soon as we have advice that restrictions at our Border have been returned to more normal arrangements, the Department will update information on the web site.

FYI - and to help manage expectations of those who are in the closing stages of visa processing - it appears that offshore subclass 143 parent visa applications (along with other offshore visa applications generally) - are not being finalised at the moment due to the COVID-19 restrictions on incoming arrivals to Australia.

We have a case where the 2nd VAC has been paid but visas are apparently not going to be being granted until the PVC returns to its usual modus operandi - albeit that we are lobbying hard for the visas to be granted given the Department has the applicants money.

    Stay hopeful one and all!

Thanks for this and the insight really helps. But do you know if they are even asking for further docs to keep the queue moving. Then keeping everything ready to a stage where the 2nd VAC is asked for only once the borders open?

I think they are still processing applications, requesting further docs, it just means no more 2nd vac will be issued. Once resumed, 2nd vac requested will be issued in application date order. I would imagine, there will be quite a lot "ready to go" applications by the end of this crisis, hopefully, we'll see a higher planning level for family stream next FY.

Yup. I am trying to find out if anyone else has had any correspondence from the department as well. As long as we all keep sharing and communicating on this forum it will help understand how DIPB is progressing.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this. It was in the text of the auto response email received from WAParents today. 😥

    IMPORTANT NOTE

Finalisation of many Parent Visa applications will be put on hold for a period of approximately two months. The situation will be reviewed in late May 2020, and further extension/s will be provided if necessary.

I hope this is only for those who have already done the payment of the second vac or perhaps the AOS has been finalised. Which would mean they are ready for visa grant.

Praying that they still continue to process applications and take them to a stage where just the last part ie. 2nd VAC needs to be paid. It will save us all the anxiety and stress of seeing nothing at all happen in the next few months. This way it will at least keep  things moving. Even if it's slow it doesn't matter.

I’m not so sure about this.

The biggest problem Australia is facing now (excluding the virus) is unemployment. The economy is very reliant on consumer spending and confidence, especially to keep the housing market from crashing.

The only way to prevent the economy slipping from recession into a long depression is by getting as many Australians back into work as soon as possible, post virus.

There’s going to be growing pressure to halt all immigration for the next few years. I fear many of us here may have to reconsider our plans.

Well let's hope and pray that that's not the case for every parent's sake who have been waiting so long.

Haha check my timeline, the waiting is killing me. Lots of applications who applied after me got their visa already. Not sure what’s going on here.

Just as an example , I knew of a guy who had one parent and his brother as a dependant. I believe his brother was over 20 years of age but definitely a student and dependant on his father.

His application took longer than the others who had applied with him. It was longer by a good 2 months or so.

Perhaps the assessment is more in depth or something on those lines.

Not sure what the matter is in your case.
