  1. Congratulations!! . I have to pay the AOS bond next week. Things are slow but moving. !!
  2. @kittyMB This is so sad that they are almost there and you have paid up everything and yet can't get the visa in hand. It's true that it is the law that they have to be offshore. But if DIBP could only consider and manage some cases as exceptional circumstances would have really helped. Having said that they may have their own challenges to deal with whilst issuing these visas. Even if NZ was open to us it would have helped. Hope it all falls in place soon. The anxiety levels for all families waiting has probably hit the roof.
  3. @Alan Collett Thanks for pointing that out. My oversight. @Millynguyen My bad. I didn't read that they were offshore now. Either ways good to reach out to the case officer.
  4. @Millynguyen There are a few people who have paid and are waiting since March'2020. Yours is an interesting one though because your parents are still in AUS and haven't departed. One of the conditions to grant the visa is that the applicants have to be offshore at the time of grant. Not sure if you have reached out to them and followed up to ask what will be the outcome in the given situation. Most importantly if any exception will be made and the visa will still be granted since they are onshore. It's going to be a while for the borders to open up again. Give it a go and reach out to your case officer. Do share the outcome with us on the forum.
  5. @dady dady I have filled out these forms for my in-laws. Hence, sharing with you purely based on my experience. We filled all the 3 forms. It was one form of each type with details of both applicants and the sponsors. You don't need one for each applicant. A total of 3 forms is all you need. 40 - Sponsorship for migration to Australia ( This is essentially detailing the 2 people you are sponsoring & details regarding youself as a sponsor) 47A - Details of childor other dependent family member aged 18 years or over (We had my father in law as the main applicant and hence, we provided details of my sister in law as his other child. Even though she is not migrating to AUS we still had to provide her details) 47PA - Application for a parent to migrate to Australia (This has all the details of the parent applicants) None of this is complicated. It may seem overwhelming though. I suggest that you read the details carefully and complete the forms as required. You won't need any agent if you follow the instructions. Unless, the application isn't a straight forward one, where there may be child dependants nearing the age of an adult, adoptions etc. Folks on this forum are here to share experiences. But noboby will be able to really assist you beyond that. If you have chosen to work without an agent , it's all good. But ensure that you are able in a position to do the paper work through detailed reading and research if required. All the very best !
  6. @jellybean Thank you for sharing your experience. I will convey this to my in-laws. It will surely make them feel at ease. Much appreciate all the details and the time taken to respond! All the very best!!
  7. @ramot Thanks for that insight. I will share this with my in-laws as they too are in their 70's. We will take along the prescription for my mother in law and her BP mediactions. Hopefully it's all well and good on the day and we can return home happy and relaxed that it's all done with
  8. @kimboslice Thank you for that. It's crazy the amount you have had to spend. My mother in law has a slight blood pressure issue and she is stressing out about that. We too are concerned but looks like they ask a GP to look at your case and eventually clear it - Unless ofcourse something is really wrong.
  9. Hi All, Does anyone know what tests are conducted at the medicals besides the ones below?: 1) HIV- blood test 2) Chest x-ray 3) Blood pressure test
  10. @Kathss56 That's what I heard as well. But they atlease need to send in the acceptance for the AOS in our my gov account and ask to pay the Bank Guarantee. That hasn't happened so far.
  11. @Gadgetfreak28 I hope they pick up these files soon for atlease the Acceptance to start with.
  12. @Gadgetfreak28 Did you hear anything on the AOS acceptance for your application so far?
  13. @MELBNGSM Makes complete sense. I will send in one in the month of Sep'2020. A month prior to the 12 months getting over.
  14. @Alan Collett This is what a mate of mine got when he sent in a request for the 8558 waiver. If you hold a visa with condition 8558 you should depart Australia before the date on which you will have stayed in Australia for more than 12 months in any 18 month period. If you are unable to depart Australia before this time for reasons beyond your control however, we do not expect you to apply for a further visa unless you are unable to depart before your visa expiry date. Your ‘No Further Stay’ waiver request will therefore be prioritised according to the visa expiry date, and not the date on which you will have stayed in Australia for more than 12 months in any 18 month period. Condition 8558 is not able to be waived, however a breach of this condition under these circumstances will not result in visa cancellation or have any negative consequences for a future visa application.
  15. @MELBNGSM I belive they are allowed to stay even past the 12 month period upto the visa expiry date with no adverse impact or breach of visa conditions. This I think will be most relevant in the current scenario where they are waiting on the 143 visa outcome and the can't for unforseen reasons travel back home. @Alan Collett would apprecuate anything that you comment if I am on the right track. Thanks!
  16. @Alan CollettWe do plan to apply to apply for a new visa closer to March 2021 if required. At the moment we are hoping that the borders will open until then and they don't have to do another round of temp visas. They can simply exit prior to March 2021 and return as Permanent Residents.
  17. @MELBNGSM My in-laws are here in AUS at the moment. However, we are still at the AOS & medicals stage. In their case the visa has an 8558 condition. They don't have an 8503 condition where a waiver needs to be requested. Although their one year expires in October, their visa as per VEVO is valid until March'2021. They will stay here until then. We don't need to do anything at this stage as no waiver is required for the 8558 condition. Once the borders open up, they will perhaps start asking for the second VAC. Then they can perhaps leave AUS and come back. Hopefully it will be safer then.
  18. @Alan Collett Much appreciate the speedy response. That's what I thought as well.
  19. @Alan Collett For offshore 143 visa applicant's I understand that they have to be offshore at the time of visa application. Have you in th recent past come across any cases where the parents were onshore and may be stuck onshore due to the covid-19 situation and can't go back or leave AUS. However, the department has still considered this and granted the 143 visa to allow them to continue their stay?
  20. @Gadgetfreak28 Apoligies but one more question. Did they call the assuree to conduct a telephonic interview regarding the AOS or did they just send the approval without any call?
  21. @Gadgetfreak28 Doesn't look like the AOS acceptance time has picked up in your timeline. I have put in an applicaiton only last week on 7/7/2020 but still have to hear from them. I belive first they approve your application as an assuree, which in other words is the AOS acceptance. Next they ask you to pay the bank deposit within 14 days. I belive you would have reach the first stage of acceptance and the bond would need to be paid next. Is that correct?
  22. Sorry, yes it is 2/6/2016. My signature has it correct. Can't seem to edit my original post.
  23. Hi All, Yesterday I got asked for further docs for my inlaws. Theirs was a 2/6/2017 application. Updated my signature as well. Happy days!
