  1. I'm very jealous. I want to get mine submitted but I'm still waiting for SA. I'm hoping mine will be a quick grant too but I have a feeling my medical is going to get referred Want to have my notice in at the end of June but that is feeling optimistic now
  2. Beyond Adelaide I'm not entirely sure. I don't know how I work out which area I might want to live. I'm going on my own so I guess its a bit down to where my job ends up being. I am a nurse
  3. Did you get a direct invite from your skill select or did you get a notification from SA that it was approved first? I'm assuming once SA approve it then you have to then wait for the skill select to invite you at the next invite date. Trying to work out when my invite might come... I'm hoping I get an invite soon as I want to be there at the beginning of September.
  4. Just because I'm excited. Today I have submitted my EOI and my application to SA for my 190 nomination! Now to keep everything crossed!
  5. I have to be in Oz by mid October to validate my registration and I have an 8 week notice period on my current job. So need to my visa issues by the end of July ideally. And as Australia post have lost my references then I'm not making much progress currently
  6. I have a positive skills assessment already completed. I also have references for 3 years, statements of service, payslips. I also have 55 points for my visa and the sponsorship would give me the other 5 points without having my references assessed. I have already contacted ANMAC but it appears my references and the original letter of determination have been lost in the post. Hence the idea of applying for a 190 to avoid that step.
  7. A wonderful person on here post on my frustration thread today about applying for a sponsored 190 visa rather than a 189 as I'm having troubling getting my final 5 points needed assessed by ANMAC. In order to apply for a sponsored visa in SA where I'd like to go it says I need 3 years work experience for my skill, which I have. Does anyone know whether I just submit the work experience evidence directly to them or if the experience stills needs assessing by ANMAC? If it doesn't need assessing I can start applying for my visa this weekend as I meet all the other requirements and sponsorship would give me my missing 5 points.
  8. I could also be convinced to go to Melbourne. I have never been to Adelaide but my family who live in Tas and have visited plus people who know me think Adelaide would be a good fit for me. I have been to Melbourne multiple times and like it a lot. But it is very big
  9. I have 2.5 years full time experience and 14 months working 24 hours a week. And it's still increasing while they are faffing about with my letter. I want to go to Adelaide but they also need 3 years work experience, which I assume has to be assessed by ANMAC?
  10. I do have 3 years experience. Three and a half now but because I couldn't track down an old boss I couldn't prove it. Now I have tracked her down and she has written me a reference, hence I had sent them and the original letter off in the post as ANMAC instructed me to do. Except it appears to have been lost! Because the tracking is still saying over a month later it hasn't arrived. I need the references assessed for points because I got the 7's required in IELTs for skills assessment but I was .5 off in one section getting all 8's to get the extra points for my visa. So without assessed references I only have 55 points. Chances are now I'm going to have to pay for my original LOD to be reissued before they can start doing my references. And I have no idea if they will accept the references 1st time. I definitely don't want to let my AHPRA lapse. I want to be heading for Oz mid September but the longer all this takes and the fact once I've applied for my visa my medical is going to get referred, the more and more unlikely that is getting. Hence my frustration
  11. Thank you so much for your helpful reply. The reason I had to send my references off was when I did the skills assessment 5 months ago I couldn't track down an old boss to write me a reference. So I submitted one for the minimum 3 months they ask forgot and that was all. So because I didn't ask for my references to be assessed for visa points my letter from anamc doesn't mention work experience. Just that I am suitable for skilled migration. The understanding I have is that if you want to use your professional experience towards your visa that ANMAC have to assess the references before you can apply for your visa? It was an option on the original ANMAC for, which I didn't tick.
  12. I did try the Australia tracker but no luck. Royal mail told me it wouldn't arrive before Christmas when I posted it, which wasn't an issue. I just wanted it to get there. But 4 weeks have gone by, a whole week when ANMACS office has been open and it still just says it's on its way. Like it has since 21st December. But ANMAC haven't responded to my emails so I can't do anything until they tell me how to get my LOD reissued. So I'm stuck and I just feel like time is ticking by
  13. I'm glad it's not just me that was thinking it wasn't a helpful post. It certainly doesn't help me in the slightest
  14. What do you mean no I don't? I need the references assesed in order to get points for my work experience. Without it I only have 55 points. So ANMAC need to do that for me as they did my skills assessment. But I couldn't track down an old boss when I did my skills assessment.
  15. I'd be screwed if I had to do this. I am 28 and have been to 25 different countries. Most of them in the EU where there is no stamps. I dread to think how many pages my form 80 is going to be if they ask for one.
  16. I did indeed, but all it says is it's with Australia post. I know the ANMAC office was closed until Monday and I asked for it to be signed for but the tracking hasn't changed for 3 weeks almost. Royal mail are saying it should have got there by now so to assume it's been lost.
  17. Sorry needed a bit of a rant because I am so dam frustrated. I have completed my APHRA (deadline of 3/11/17) to present by and I have my ANMAC skills assessment done. However I didn't get 8's in my IELTS so now need references assessed by ANMAC to get me the 5 points I am missing to apply for my 189. I posted my references, plus my original letter of determination as they instructed on the 14/12/16. They have been lost in the post!! I am back where I started!!! GRRRR. I've email ANMAC but it appears I'm going to have to pay for my LOD to be re-issued and also pay to have the documents resent (Not that they are replying to emails at the moment either). I need the references assessed (I am seriously hoping they don't reject them as they follow the template but are only a page long each) so I can submit my EOI. My medical is going to get referred once I submit my visa application so that's going to slow it down too. Every single step seems to be taking so much longer than is necessary and it's so frustrating. Life is on hold and that's getting annoying. But I am now beginning to worry that I'll run out of time to present for my APHRA at the current rate of progress Any nurses out there who have been through the process who can cheer me up any?
  18. Hi, So I haven't actually applied for my visa yet. I'm still waiting for my reference assessment for points to come back if the posted letter ever actually arrives! (Hoping to submit eoi later this month all being well) But I went for my medical before Xmas so it was ready and have been told due to having Chronic Fatigue syndrome that my medical will be referred. Does anyone know whether that delays the length of time my visa will take to come through? I am a solo applicant. I want to be in Australia by beginning October and I'm getting annoyed at my life being on hold, not knowing how long anything going to take. Why does every single step seem to be taking forever!!
  19. Microphone was okay, so I am clearly not understanding what they want. They gave me 85 points for my fluency and 82 for vocab despite me fumbling along in describing the graphs. But they only gave me 55 for pronunciation. So I failed big style. Didn't find the noise too bad. But I was first one in and first one to finish so I guess I had a head start perhaps. If I could get a reference written and assessed by my skills authority (I'm a nurse) I wouldn't need the extra points from the English test. I got enough in my Ielts to pass my skills assessment. However I need five more points to get to my 60. So I either have to find to resit the English or find an old senior colleague to write the reference, providing I have the 3 years post registration experience. Something I have so far failed at and therefore can't claim the points for that section. I would assume if you could get the points without 3 years work experience then you don't need it. I can't afford to take the test again, so I'm currently stuck.
  20. I was in your exam room yesterday Dragonflygecko! I didn't even think I was close and I was right. I had previously sat ielts and got S9.0, R 9.0, L 8.5 and W 7.5 (needed all 8's or above.) For PTE I got W 90, L 90 R77 (missed by one spelling!) and S60. When you look at the break down I got more than 79 on all speaking areas except pronunciation. I have no accent at all. I get accused of being 'posh' all the time by my friends who have more of an obvious accent. I didn't find the speaking easy, or rather I found the describing the image impossible, but I got marks for fluency and vocabulary. But clearly not even close for pronunciation. I can't afford to take the exam again so the dream is currently on hold The only reason I was re-taking the exam is I can't find someone from my old job to write a reference toprove I have the 3 years post qualification work experience. If I had that I would have my points and not need to do this dam test.
  21. I don't have a specialist. I have Chronic Fatigue syndrome and mild depression. I am just managed by a GP. Haven't been seen by a CF specialist since I was 14 and depression is only mild.
  22. Is getting a small amount of extra stuff out easy? Like 3 or 4 boxes rather than big bits of furniture or large quantities?
  23. I've got time. Medical booked in today for the 16th November. Seeing GP next week, hence asking so I can give him guidance
  24. So I am going on my own to Australia next year. I have applied for a 189 visa but am initially going out for 2 years to see how I find it, and will then make a decision whether to stay longer term. What do I take? All my furniture in the UK is cheap IKEA stuff so not sentimental or of much value. So I'm not attached to taking it with me. Especially if I decide to come home in 2 years for a while. Unless anyone thinks its worth it? But is it realistic to get everything I'd want to take with me into 2 suitcases and in 30kg? Currently I can only think of clothes/shoes and paperwork. I read posts on here about taking things that make a place feel like home? Like what? Photos? Any advice/ideas lovely community?
  25. So I have booked my visa medical today. But as I have pre-existing conditions I have to take a letter from my GP (who manages them). Do you know what they want in the letter, as my GP will ask me and I will likely have to pay for it and don't want him to have to do it twice. Also after some advice. I have 2 conditions that are variable. I have had time off sick with them in the past year but when I am doing okay they do not stop me working full time. They do have periods of relapse though. Do you think this will affect my medical outcome? I'm working part time at the moment building it back up to full time but I don't claim any benefits or have any help. I am just managed with medication by my GP. Any thoughts? Thank you TK
