I'm not an expert in this by any means, in fact I currently have my fingers crossed as I wait for Aitsl to assess my skills. However, my understanding is that Aitsl are only assessing your skills for the purpose of a visa and there is a separate registration process teachers need to go through for each state. As you've already been advised, checking the skills list is the first step (I don't recall seeing middle school teachers on there though). As for whether your skills need assessing, again it is only relevant if your job is on the list and even then only do it if you want / need the 5 points for partners skills. I hope that helps, it's quite confusing and I may be corrected by someone who knows better! Good luck
