  1. I did not certify passports and they took it as valid.
  2. not necessarily, I was asked certified copy of wife's skill assessment even though they had granted 25 points (15 for degree and 10 for experience) in a previous visa application were she was main applicant. This time I uploaded a very nice color scan and they did not seem satisfied. I am claiming 5 points now for skilled partner.
  3. This is what you are told went migration ask for documents from you. "Certified copies For the purposes of the migration legislation, a document is to be certified in writing as a true copy of the original document by: if the copy is certified in Australia: ● a Justice of the Peace; or ● a Commissioner for Declarations; or ● a person before whom a statutory declaration may be made under the Statutory Declarations Act 1959 (for example a nurse, legal practitioner, medical practitioner, pharmacist or dentist); or ● a registered migration agent (whose registration is not suspended or subject to a caution). if the copy is certified outside Australia: ● a person who is the equivalent of a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations in that place (for example a public notary); or ● a registered migration agent (whose registration is not suspended or subject to a caution)."
  4. So it seems that we are paying over 5k aud to get a poor and deficient service. They are not even doing their job properly. In my case they asked a Certified Copy of wife's skill assessment. the thing is she already had 25 points granted (15 for degree and 10 for exp) in a previous visa application for being principal applicant. Now she is secondary applicant and because the skill assessment form engineers australia didn't have the stamp of "true copy of original" instead of giving the 5 points they asked for the document with stamp. genius!
  5. How long did they take from request to request and visa granted? did you press the button "Information provided" to not having to wait the 28 days?
  6. Of course I did lodge my wife's skill assessment. It was only scanned form original and was not signed as "true copy of original". I can tell you more, the first time they asked for more information they did not even bother on checking the already uploaded documents, just checked the ones missing. How do I know this? becase they didn't ask certified copy of that in the first lot of "requested info", they only checked that once the documents were completed. Technically is their job to see if documents already uploaded are valid, isn't it? "just tick the box culture mate"
  7. Hello, Yesterday I received for a second time a mail form CO (different one) requesting more information (wife's certified copy of skill assessment) and uploaded today. First request was on 8-03-16 and loaded on 21-03-16 5 weeks after second request. My question if for people with similar experience. Does DIBP take that long again to review the new documents or is it a shorter waiting as they have approved previous info? I'd die if I have to wait 5 weeks again :arghh: cheers.

    Help!

I wouldn't worry too much. I reckon the medical examinations is to make sure you won't be a burden for the Australian Health System. I mean VIH, Tuberculosis, Chronic illness etc. A simple infection wouldn't be a problem I'd say. As long as when you enter Australia should the visa be granted your daughter is ok.. I think they are more interested in your long term health or in discard any ebola zika or something like that, rather than in your temporal heath. After all everyone is exposed to bacterias and common sickness at any time. That is my personal opinion
  9. Send me a PM and I will help! I did not have problems at all at this point. cheers
  10. I honestly don't have a clue of how DIBP works. Granted times seems to be pretty random. Analyzing some patterns I would say they really depend on occupations to grant visas. It is just my guess. I hope they are quick.
  11. Lodged 14/02/2016 DIBP request for additional information 8/03/2016 (Form 80, police checks, medicals) Additional information lodged 21/03/2016 Granted ??/??/2016 I am getting really impatient!

  13. Hi, When did you send the requested information? to calculate effective time form when documentation is complete to granted day. cheers
  14. Lodged 14/02/2016 DIBP request for additional information 8/03/2016 (Form 80, police checks, medicals) Additional information lodged 21/03/2016 Granted ??/??/2016

  17. My experience in short. I'm form Venezuela (mother language: Spanish). I learned some English at school. IELTS while living in Venezuela (for the first time) Aug 2009 (I had never interacted in English with anyone, lots of reading in English surfing the web though): L5.0 R5.0 W4.5 S5.0 O5.0 Moved to Australia to study English in Feb-2013 I did 6 months of General English till Aug-2013, I started in Upper Intermediate and reached Advanced level. Here there are 6 levels: Begginers (A1), Pre intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper Intermediate (B2), Advanced (C1), Proficient (C2) Did the IELTS on JAN 2014: L7.5 R8.5 W6.5 S7.5 O7.5 IELTS on Dec 2015 (after being working in English speaking environment for over a year): L6.5 R8.0 W5.5 S7.5 O7.0 Read this post after IELTS failed (I needed 7.0). Jan 2016 PTE Academic: L72 R75 S76 W72 O73 (Equivalent to IELTS 7.5) I took the PTE test with very little study, in the middle of a week of 3 jobs and very little sleep. I just drank 2 red bulls and I scored what I needed. I am confident I could have perform better. According to Australia Migration Department PTE Academic and IELTS equivalences are the follow: IELTS 6.0 = PTE A 50 IELTS 7.0 = PTE A 65 IELTS 8.0 = PTE A 79 As maximum scores IELTS 9.0 = PTE A 90 My humble opinion! DO NOT TAKE IELTS it is a business to make us fail and take the test several times.
