  1. We didn't use an agent and we were not contacted for further information. Good luck x
  2. Hi Rachel, our visas were granted 2 months are lodging (timeline in signature). Good luck :-)
  3. Hi all, I'm so excited that we have been granted our 189 visas, however now serious planning starts ...... I have registered with Australian nursing agency and looking to move within 30minutes of Melbourne as I have been assured this is where the work is. The areas I have looked at are werribee where I have found rental properties for $300 per week (3 bed). This is short term until we find our feet, however I do need to bear in mind that my 15 year old son will need to be close to a good secondary school...... what are your opinions of werribee?. Any advice is much appreciated.
  4. Visa granted!!!! Can't believe it was so quick, 2 months since lodging for myself, partner and son..... and with no agent! ..... not sure whether to laugh or cry at the moment!
  5. Still waiting .... medicals done ..... form 80s done ........ Our CO is also based at Adelaide ...... Checking emails at every opportunity ..... Going mad!!! ..... but it's only been 2 months!!
  6. Hi, if you go to the official visa website there is info on the health examination. I would wait until you have lodged your visa application, then a hap id number is generated, you can print the referral letter from there also. The website has a list of hospitals where you can get the medical done ....... hope this all makes sense!
  7. Congratulations! Can I ask if it is just yourself or are you taking family?
  8. I bought them from Amazon, well worth the money, lots of revision resources included.
  9. Hi, the best advice I can give as I am in a similar position, is to resit the IELTS but this time do the general test. I also used the barrons revision books. I got the 8s in the general test and have now lodged the visa application. Good luck x
  10. Hi Candi Bailey, I had to sit the IELTS test twice to get the required 8s for the points I needed. The first sitting was the academic test where I scored 7s, I needed this for skills assessment. Second time round I used Barrons IELTS revision books and sat the general test, I got the 8s ........ So it can be done with lots of revision and the general test is easier. Don't assume that you'll get it easily if your native English speaking. Good luck x
  11. We had the medical today and all the additional information is uploaded so I guess it's back to the waiting game now ....
  12. I'm hoping to settle in Victoria, near to Melbourne. What about you Becks22? Also what is the difference between 1221 and form 80, me and partner had to do form 80.
  13. Hi Northeast25, I am also a mental health nurse and have just had the registration approved in principle. It took a while but as long as you check everything and use the checklist like louloubelle said you can't go wrong. One of the first things I done was sit the ielts test.
  14. I thought I'd start a new thread for those who lodged 189 application in March. We have medicals booked for Saturday 16/4/16 and have just had AHPRA approved in principle. (I'm a mental health nurse). My timeline is in my signature, is anyone else waiting?
