  1. Hi Marilyn, We have a lodgement date of 16 July 2015 and we have all the restrictions (including 12 in 18 and private medical insurance) on our 600 visa. Sorry to hear of your woes. The waiting is frustrating and painful, even on a 600. Good luck. David
  2. That’s great Marilyn. I sent electronic and hard copies too [emoji4]
  3. Hi Marilyn, I completed Form 1022 myself on the basis that I was the Applicant. In the box marked 'Information which is no longer current' I referred to the question in the original application and said my daughter was now an Australian citizen. In the box entitled 'New correct details' I listed my daughters Australian Passport Number and her Citizen Certificate Number. I think it worked and I received an acknowledgement that they had received the information and that my file had been updated. David
  4. Hi Marylin, Our sponsor has now got citizenship and we informed IMMI using Form 1022. It seemed to work and we received an acknowledgement. We also used Form 929 to advise IMMI of a change of address for us and new passport details for my wife. I would advise that you tell them now rather than wait for Form 80. Best regards David
  5. Hi Sheena, Yes, you have to be offshore (out of the country) when the 143 visa is granted. It’s the act of entering the country that triggers the visa. I think it really screws the system up if you stay onshore when it’s granted. The visa won’t be granted until you pay the second vac. By that time you will have a Case Officer and you should be able to liaise with him/her regarding the actual timing of the visa grant. I believe it’s typically a few days after the payment is received by the PVC. I hope this helps [emoji4] David
  6. Congratulations to all who have had 2nd vac requests! Our lodgement date is 15 July 2015. We’ve heard nothing as yet [emoji45].
  7. Congratulations, this is great news for you! I see Judy has received the document request too. We are a few weeks behind you guys with a lodgement date of 16 July 2015, so fingers crossed we will hear from the PVC soon. We are moving out to Australia on a 600 visa mid-June and a document request in the next couple of weeks would be perfect.
  8. Thanks for the information. Sorry to hear of your troubles in getting the bank guarantee account open. Is it wrong for me to say I would trade that stress to be where you are in the process [emoji12][emoji12].
  9. I haven’t used any of the ones you mention but I have heard of them. I used to use UKForex but I now use TransferWise - they are competitive, safe and quick. I would recommend them.
  10. I think you are right to sit tight and see what happens. You have ‘lost’ your first fee anyway. It will be at least two years (hopefully no more) before you have to move forward with the 143 or withdraw. I hope things work out for you all.
  11. I believe your assurer doesn’t have to be a family member so it could be a friend as long as he/she is a Permanent Resident or Citizen. Maybe I’m missing something but if your son returns to the UK will you still meet the family criteria for a 143 i.e. will you have other sons or daughters over there?
  12. Hi Ian, the enquiries we have made so far we were given budget prices of £2500 to £2750 for shipping 500 cubic feet. This excludes insurance. We have gone from shipping everything to nothing and all stops in between! Our current favourite is a large movecube from Seven Seas which will cost around £1500 door-to-door including clearance in Australia.
  13. Ditto for us. We couldn’t contemplate buying in Sydney and renting would rob us of our money too quickly. It’s the big house/granny flat option for us too.
  14. Sorry, call me a scaredy cat but I wouldn’t touch Bitcoin. I’m way too conservative for that. [emoji4][emoji4]
  15. I’ve used Transferwise for a few transfers over the last year. Before that I used UKForex. I believe TW is among the best in terms of costs. Two things are important to me - how much I get at the far end for my £’s and how safe my money is. TW ticks both boxes for me. When I registered with them I didn’t need to provide ID. My transfers so far have been small - £2000 at a time, but many of them. The reason I chose £2k was that this was the limit for using a debit card to pay them. They now charge for using a debit card for all transfers so I have recently set up a bank transfer (which is free) and this works great. At some point my transfers will get bigger and I believe I will be asked for ID then. I won’t have any concerns about providing what they need.
  16. Great idea Bear2015, thanks for your hard work here [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  17. As I understand it it’s ok for only one person to be the AoS for two parents. That’s the route we are going too. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  18. I think the time frame is linked to your police and health checks. They will have a 12 month validity. You will have to move before they expire or you may have to re-do them. I could be wrong though. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  19. That's no problem. For more information (better than mine) see Alan Colletts link above where it describes the meaning of 'settled'. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
