Having read all the comments about Form 80, I thought I would download it and take a look, even though I know I have many more months left in the Waiting Room. It struck me that many of the questions, apart from holiday and employment history, duplicate information that I have already supplied on form 47PA. So my questions is this - does everyone applying for a CPV 143 have to complete a Form 80? If not what criteria is used to decide who does and does not need to complete the form? Also on that glorious day when I arrive in Australia having been told that I have successfully cleared all the hurdles, how is the visa granted? From information on the IMMI website, I assume the visa is associated with my passport so is it a stamp in my passport, a piece of paper or just an electronic record? Assuming it takes 2 years for a visa to be granted, which is what the current timelines suggest, my passport will expire a few months after I arrive in Australia, what are the implications of renewing my passport? It's not that I am a worrier, just like to plan ahead..................

Just returned from holiday to find that the date has moved to 1 April 2014! If I remember correctly there's quite a group of you who lodged in April 2014 - how exciting to think that you will soon be getting your exit passes from the Waiting Room. I am rooting for you all. Thank you for all the tips and information re the police checks, medicals, AOS and form 80, so helpful to learn from all your experiences. Although we "2015ers" still have a long wait we can at least try to have all our ducks in a row for when we get a CO assigned. The 28 days afterwards sounds as if could be frantic. When you all finally get to OZ on your permanent visas I hope you can still find the time to post tips/hints re all the things that need to be done to settle in. Your wisdom and knowledge so far has been invaluable.

Great idea Skeelsy, have lodged my entry on Tracker as suggested. I see IMMI has moved on another week, at this rate hopefully you will just have another 2 months of waiting left.

Yes we just need to find someone with a Sept 15 and an Oct 15 lodgement date so that we can get a sequence going to follow.

Hi AMP, like you I have only recently joined the Waiting Room, we lodged in Nov 15. Looking through the previous posts it looks as if a flurry of members who lodged in April 14 should depart the Waiting Room soon so we can all shuffle up a bit. It is easy to get despondent thinking about the waiting time but monitoring the progress of others and seeing them edge slowly forward has cheered me up a bit. I am also getting great tips from this site so follow the blogs avidly. 3 months down and possibly "only" another 19-20 months to go................

I am a bit confused over terminology. Sent off 143 application Oct 2015, 1st VAC taken 3 Nov 2015 and I received a receipt showing my details and a lodgement date of 3 Nov 2015. Is this the acknowledgement or should I expect another document in the future?
