Hi all, anyone has any idea of how DIBP processes our visas? My understanding is post visa lodgment our files will be in a queue. Then it will be allocated to processing center queue then picked up by next available case officer in this center. Am I right?

sorry for the misleading.. The officer just told me where they are at. I saw someone in the forum got it lodged 5 july.

I called VIC office today. The officer told me. someone in the forum got it before Christmas had nomination and visa lodged 5 July and processing center is NSW. How come you still no news??

Did you try to call to understand why? 131881 is the number you can call today.

The same Jim answered my call today. It was him who told me my case'd be looked at before Christmas. Today he said it'd be pretty soon. I am just hoping he doesn't lie again.

Just got to know two processing center process our files. NSW has reached 5/6 july while VIC is still on 1/2 July.

called 131881. waited(wasted) 2 hours. Didn't look like the right people answered my call. She asked me to ask MA to contact them as she doesn't even think normal nomination would take up to 6 months....

I concur with what you said. Personally, I've been even unluckier than you. I have waited 175 days for the first contact yet the waiting is underway. For those of you who have waited for more than 6 months, there is one thing we could do - feedback. Bear in mind that we are not begging for a visa. We paid for the service agreement and DIBP has to maintain the standard. Management in DIBP is also encouraging people to provide feedbacks including compliments, complaints and suggestions, as a part of their commitment to continually improving services. It's the right thing for ours interest as well as helping DIBP improve. We are same timeline. I was told by DIBP VIC officer that mine will be looked at before Christmas. But i am still waiting. Now i am wishing it come to end prior to new year.

Only after co is assigned will you get the CO's direct number. For us who haven't been even first contacted, we can only call 13 number
