  1. hi guys

    posted on here yesterday.

    my timeline is as follows

nomination on lodged 23rd June = approved 4th November

application on lodged 24th June = no news

i am confused, as i have seen heaps of people gaining PR around the same lodgement date to me.. but i don't have any news.

thought it would be approved together??

You see that although the world spins everyday not everyday is bright and sunny. There are some cloudy and rainy days.

Similarly, Not all applications and nominations are approved together.

The actual status on your file is "work in progress" but I guess they are busy to update that. So there there.

It will come. I have witnessed it. You will too.

  2. So here's what I think:

There are two case officers. One is hardworking and the other is lazy. They both get 50 files to process each. Some of these files are from June and some July. Let's, for arguments sake, say that each case officer gets 25 June files and 25 July files.

Now, case officer 1, the hardworking one, finishes off his work quickly. He's done with his batch of 25 June files and 25 July files. He then gets a new batch of October files. And once received he gets back to his business.

On the other hand, case officer 2, the lazy one, has only done 15 of June files. He still got some June and most of his share of July files to go.

So if these scenario is repeated over multiple case officers we do get some early processing. This way they don't violate the "first in line gets served first" rule either.

Unless of course the big b0ss dictates something else.

  3. Guys

How much does it normally take for case officer to process an application if, say, he's fully happy with it and no additional docs are required?

Like did you mean... That the case officer is assigned and he(assuming he's a he), is fully happy with all the documents and is satisfied that they the documents meets all the immigration law requirements???

In that case, why would he even waste a second? Laziness doesn't count as an excuse legally. So did you get the answer you were looking for?

  4. We should be grateful to Immi that they are a lot faster than the timelines they have published.

Or if you think outside the box..

Let's say a process takes 2 days to complete. Let's throw in the post office guys as an example. They can deliver a mail in 2 days. But, because they are lazy, because it could rain, because their tyre could deflate, or any other circumstances that could happen, or simply to cover their a$$ they advertise it as they will deliver in 5 working days.

Now, you know that it takes 2 days for your mail to arrive because that's what everyone's mail is being delivered by. Starting 3rd day you will wait for your mail. It's a natural human feeling. Can't help it.

    However,

If they charge $800 for complete visa fees and process it in 6 months or more then people wouldn't wait that much.

Another example: you go to an Apple Store, pay for the MacBook Pro and you get a friggin zune player.

Remember you came to the Apple Store because:

    1. You heard good things about them

    2. They charge ridiculous so you expect a premium level of service.

    3. They have a system which can accurately tell when your product will be delivered to you.

So in a way, because we are humans, we will wait and have some expectations. And that's natural.

    Know what I mean?

  5. Sometimes, I asked myself: if I got the "approval" now, what would I do tomorrow? The same. Start my work at 8:30am and finish at 5pm, repeat the similar stuff during the day as yesterday. Yes, I will be very excited at the moment when I get the grant letter, but everything may come back to the same routine life when I wake up next day.

It's the freedom. And one thing less to worry about.

    Freedom mainly.

  6. The 2 years starts from his hire date, not from the date his 457 was granted.

Oh I was thinking of this scenario:

I got hired by Tesla on 1st October.

They sponsored me and I got the 457 on 28th of October.

In this case you are hired before you get 457.

And therefore the citation and ****.
