    October 2015 EOI's

That definitely cancels out the bad news! Thanks for the update Captain C....maybe I wasn't the best person to start a thread about the October EOI :biglaugh: I'm just so excited for the invitations to start coming through.

    Ping Pong!!

Yes me!! I lived in Sydney 2009-2010, left, came back to the UK, now heading back to Aus as soon as our visa is approved ?
  4. Hi all! Starting this thread for the October EOI's. We submitted our EOI on the 13th September so really anxious to hear something back during this round. I know it's the first Monday of the month so that's this coming Monday (Sunday UK time) Eeekkkks. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE x
  5. Hi Heisenberg. The next round of EOI's is Monday so we're keeping our fingers crossed we get that email on Sunday/Monday!! With regards to jobs, most agencies won't discuss anything wth you until you have a valid work visa. Once you've got it I'd start contacting agencies where you want to work. Where are you looking to move to? My BF has found some great jobs on a Qld gov website. Good luck with the EOI!! hd
  6. Police checks applied for and health check booked in! Thanks so much everyone x
  7. Amazing!! Thanks so much. That's all a massive help. So basically got to wait for EOI to come back and then do visa app. As soon as I submit visa app, I can upload/front load all documents that are requested for 189 visa. One more question...Can i do health checks and police checks ASAP...even before the positive EOI has come back? Thanks soooo much again everyone. hd
  8. Thanks for the replys. No we haven't applied for the visa yet. I submitted the EOI 13th Sep and still haven't heard back yet. I have just printed off the form 80 which I'm going to tackle tomorrow. Where do you actually front load documents? We want to get this done as quickly as possible as we've had issues along the way which have held us up and we want to get to Aus ASAP due to the new school year in January.
  9. I lived there from 2007 - 2010. I also worked on boats all over the world but luckily it was for 11 months...phew... Ive started a thread about front loading so fingers crossed. A part of me wishes we'd got an agent but also a part of me wants the challenge of completing it!! Thanks for your help!
  10. Hi all! As the title suggests...I keep hearing this thing about 'front loading' how do I do it...help! I'm not using an agent so any/all information is massively helpful! Thanks everyone hd
  11. To be honest it's all a pain in the ass oh geez...just found the form 80....will def start filling in now what can you tell me about this front loading malarky? I think the ImmiAccount generates the HAP number. it said I would receive and email. Only did it yday. And I'll get on with the police checks too. I used to live in Canada so need to get a Canadian one...should be fun.
  12. Hi supercow...thanks soooo much for the reply. I have written several messages about 'front loading' (what is this and how is it done) but no one has yet replied. I have just worked out about the health checks and added the health declaration to my ImmiAccount so waiting for a a reply to that. I thought you had to wait to be told to do the police checks? One thing I have done is got the majority of the documents together for the visa application which is on the document checklist. I really appreciate your help....many thanks
  13. Hi all....this is all so frustrating. I submitted my partners EOI on the 13th September and have heard nada...he has 70 points as a secondary school teacher and is going for the 189 visa....with me as de facto of course We are so desperate to get out for the new school year in January but it's looking unlikely
  14. Hi Lorna, I was wondering if you could help me! I am getting a bit confused about lodging the 189 visa. We are currently waiting for our EOI to come back but I'd like to organise the health checks asap and also start uploading documents. Where do you process the visa application and start uploading the documents? Is it through SkillSelect or ImmiAccount? We have tight time line so would like to be as organised as I can be! Thanks in advance! hannah
  15. Hi MiniCooper! My bf is the teacher and we're applying for the 189 through him. We wanted to move to Sydney (I used to live there and my bf has family there) but the house prices put us off as we would want to live centrally to the city! We have now decided to move to Brisbane and depending on things, we'll go to either the Gold or Sunshine Coast. The house prices and climate massively persuaded us. Also, there seems to be a lot of teaching jobs. With regards to Sydney, if it's somewhere you may end up, there are still some great, reasonably priced areas which are commutable to Sydney. Have a look at the Southern Central Coast - Gosford, Macmasters Beach, Umina Beach...they're all a lot cheaper than Sydney but still commutable. I have friends who live there and one of them gets the train in to Sydney daily. I think he finds the train journey a welcomed break from the kids With regards to work, have you contacted recruitment agencies in NSW/QLD to find out what vacancies there are and what demands for certain positions there are? If not, I would find agencies and contact them. We've generally find people super helpful with lots of information. We were surprised to find there seem to be many more teaching jobs in Brisbane than Sydney. I'm afraid I don't have too much knowledge on Engineering jobs. Let me know how you get on!! We're just waiting for the EOI to come back...it has taken longer than expected which is annoying...I'm soooo impatient! We lodged it 13th Sep and I was expecting something back within a day or 2 but I may have my information wrong as to how long they take to come back. The visa process has been such a headache/learning curve!! hannah
  16. Hi Mike, We're heading to the Gold Coast too. Well there or Sunshine Coast...somewhere in that direction! It's my BF who is the teacher. He is a Geography teacher but he works in education for kids who have been excluded from mainstream education. He isn't going to apply for any jobs until the visa comes through. A lot of agencies wont discuss jobs until you have a valid visa. Fingers crossed for all of us! hannah
  17. Hi Mike! Our process has taken longer than we initially expected which is frustrating but I suppose you can't plan these things! We submitted the AITSL in about April and after about 4 weeks we got an email asking for more information which took a couple of weeks to get and send off. Once they received the paperwork they needed we got an email saying the response time went back to being an 8-10 week wait - the initial 6 weeks they had the paperwork got discounted. It then came through in the 10th week. Longest wait ever!! Once you've had a positive EOI back and you apply for the visa, I think it takes between 8-12 weeks. We submitted our EOI 12.09.15 and would hope to get a positive EOI in the next day or 2. We'll then get the visa application submitted and wait to be told to do our Medicals and Police Checks. One issue I think we'll come across is that I've lived aboard for a while so may have to get international police checks we're really really really hoping we can get to Aus in time for the new school year which gives us just over 4 months. Where are you hoping to go to? Hannah
  18. Hi Manc84 - quick question, what is your teaching specialism? Are you in secondary education? My partner is currently an assistant head in a school for kids who have been excluded from mainstream education. It's quite a niche area so hoping there will be work in that kind of role. h
  19. We got an email yesterday saying that our AITSL application had been received and would be dealt with within 10 weeks. Gonna be the longest 10 weeks... ?
  20. 8 weeks huh...fingers crossed! Are you applying from outside Aus? Is IELTS the english language test? I'm not down with all this visa lingo yet what's the CO everyone keeps mentioning?? h
  21. I sent off our AITSL assessment today so keeping fingers crossed for a quick reply.....!! x
  22. Oh thanks so much Elise! I've been told the process could take up to a year in total so it all sounds very promising! When did you submit your initial application for assessment to AITSL? I read that bit could take up to 3 months. Thanks again hjd
