  1. Yeh it's on the regional sponsor list think they've started calling it Lead Educator now, I would love to go on the 189 visa as childcare centre manager but my experience doesn't fit the role unfortunately. Yeh I know a girl who's also be sponsored by Goodstart going to hope I can get a interview with them
  2. I'm going for the 187 visa as group leader so it needs to be a centre based in a regional area. What visa and occupation is your wife going for? I'm going to start applying to a company called Goodstart and G8 as they also have a number of centres across Australia
  3. Got my assessment back from ACECQA today and its diploma level! Yay!! Time to start applying for jobs. Can I ask Lucas did your wife just send out her CV to centres in regional areas? That's brilliant that she has a interview, good luck
  4. Didn't realise there were areas close to the Gold Coast considered regional, will have to look into it. Good luck on the job hunt and hope the move goes well. Hopefully one day I will be joining u ?Xx
  5. They received my application on the 2nd may and said I should hear back by the 26th june. I'm also doing the Foundation Degree got 1 more year left. Yeh I didn't think I would be able to go for childcare manager our dream is to go to the Gold Coast as we have lots of friends there but if I get sponsored on the RSMS visa we will have to go wherever the work is and it will have to be somewhere regional x
  6. The Gold Coast is my fav place your so lucky. I know all the recent changes are so worrying! My qualification is the CACHE Level 3 diploma children and young people's workforce and i also sent them my certificate of Higher education which is 120 credits. What was your qualification? I have a assistant who works with me now but not sure if that will be enough x
  7. That's fantastic. Think we're going to have to go down the RSMS route as childcare group leader, that's if my qualifications come back from ACECQA as diploma level, still waiting to hear back from them and if I can find a sponsor. Would have loved to have been able to go for the 189 visa as manager but as I'm a self employed childminder don't think I will be able to prove my experience. Did you have your skills assessed by TRA? Can I ask how much it costs? So when r u looking at moving and where abouts? Congrats again xx
  8. Oh wow big congratulations u must be so excited!!! Can I ask what prove of work experience you had to provide? Was it just references from your employer x
  9. Just another question if anyone knows, I understand that to qualify as a early years teacher I would require a 4 year degree with the 45 days supervised teaching in order to obtain the skills visa. But if I was to apply for the early years teacher via the RSMS route would I still need the 45 days? Under the direct entry scheme that is?
  10. Thanks Richard so if the open university ba honours degree didn't include any sort of placement than I'm guessing I would have to do the pgce.
  11. So do you mean a uni placement wouldn't count? It would have to be a permanent job working as a teacher to gain the 45 days? Thanks
  12. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew if I did top up my Early Years Degree so it was a 4 year Ba Honours Degree and I applied for the skills visa for the 'pre-primary teacher' how do you obtain the 45 days supervised teaching? Can this be done as a Volunteer in a centre? Or would I be better doing the PGCE as I imagine this will include the 45 days supervised teaching? I have been doing my degree via the Open University so I don't know if this will make much difference. Also can anyone please clarify if I definitely would not qualify as 'Childcare Centre Manager' I seem to have the correct qualifications but as my work experience is running my own business from home would this qualify? Thanks
  13. I have also emailed a couple of employers in Perth and was quite surprised to get replies asking me to get back in touch with them nearer to the time we are wanting to go out there. I also visited a couple of recruitment agencies when we were out there last year who seemed pretty positive. Think I will see if I can get the Sponsorship and if all else fails continue to study to get the 4 years, I know early years teachers are quite in demand out there so hopefully plenty of opportunities. Hope all goes well with your visa process, exciting times
  14. Yes I thought this might be the case. The 187 route is what I'm going to try to go for, if I'm able to get Sponsorship that is. I've been running my own childcare business from home for the last five years and now have 2 assistants but I'm guessing this isn't the same as running a childcare centre. For the early childhood teacher do you know if you need a pgce for this or just a 4 year degree. Thanks for your advice
  15. This is really interesting information, thanks for letting us know your outcome, bet your made up. I also always thought you needed a degree but it just goes to show. Obviously you have heaps of work experience working as a manager so if say someone did have the degree do you know how much work experience they would need? I also have the level 3 diploma and on my third year of the early years degree so I'm just wondering if I topped up to the BA Honours degree would this be enough?
  16. It's still on the list, not sure if u can see my previous posts but migration agents have confirmed this on there
  17. Childcare group leader is on the Regional Sponsorship Migration List I have spoken to varios migration agents who have confirmed this. I also know someone who has recently been sponsored as a childcare group leader on the 187 visa. Here is a article I found that may be of interest: 16 July 2015 | RSMS, Visa Update, Work Visas | The Migration Place [h=2]CHILD CARE GROUP LEADERS NEEDED IN REGIONAL AUSTRALIA[/h]Australia’s child care situation is becoming bleak, with places for kids very difficult to find. This is especially the case in regional Australia, where the demand for child care centres far outweighs the places available. Since 1 July 2015, Child Care Group Leaders are back on the list for the RSMS Visa in the Direct Entry stream. Essentially, this means that you may be eligible for permanent residency straight away if you can find an employer located in regional Australia. Many people think that to get the RSMS Visa, they need to find an employer smack-bang in the middle of the outback, but this is just a common myth. Regional Australia actually covers the majority of Australia, minus the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne. If you have a qualification at the level of an Australian Certificate II or III in Childcare, or at least one year of relevant work experience, then this could be the visa solution for you. 18. I've always watched it and the new one 'new life in oz'. Can I ask out of curiosity why people don't like it? Is it not realistic?
  19. There is a regional sponsorship list and child care group leader is on there so this could be a option, also you only need to have the level 3 diploma. You need to find a employer who is willing to sponsor your wife in a area that's classed as regional, which WA is. The conditions are that you must stay working for the employer for 2 years but it is a permanent resident visa. This is the route I'm looking to go down towards the end of this year
  20. I'm very happy with lots of the information I have received on here and found it extremely helpful. But I would not offer advice and tell people that there's no way of them applying for a visa unless it was an area that I'm experienced in. I have spoken to bungo a number of times explaining that there are options for people who work in childcare yet he is still telling new people on here otherwise. It would be a shame for someone to take this incorrect advice and think that there isn't an option for them
  21. Are any of the staff in your centre sponsored as childcare group leader? If so do you know what qualifications they have? I am Level 3 but currently studying my early years degree. I also run my own childcare business and have 2 members of staff. Once I complete my degree I am going to start looking for Sponsorship via the 187 visa.
  22. I don't think bungo should keep giving advice on this occupation. On one of my threads regarding childcare group leader he wasn't even aware there was a regional Sponsorship occupation list. Shouldn't be giving out incorrect info on things he clearly is not experienced in
  23. It's not entirely true that it's impossible to find a sponsor. I have spoken to a couple of people on here who have gained Sponsorship as a childcare group leader through the 187 route. You need to be qualified as a level 3 to do this. If you can read some of my previous threads all the info is on there. Also if you look at Goodstart Early Learning who are a chain of childcare centres in oz there are willing to offer Sponsorship if you have the right qualifications.
  24. Thank you that's great:)
  25. Can I ask a quick one. When the 187 visa has been approved how long do you have before u need to enter Australia?
