  1. <p><p>If interested in having some Australian career advice and support, it costs nothing to complete our questionnaire at <a href="<a href="http://tinyurl.com/catapultpeople" rel="external nofollow">http://tinyurl.com/catapultpeople</a>" rel="external nofollow"><a href="http://tinyurl.com/catapultpeople" rel="external nofollow">http://tinyurl.com/catapultpeople</a></a> and we will come back to you.</p></p>

  2. And focus on Aged Care, and be flexible about hours (I imagine you are anyway), try Regis.
  3. Research employer targets and approach them to take over the 457 initially, then sponsor you for PR later if you cannot get it independently, which on the face of it would surprise me.
  4. It makes no difference legally based on my experience and observations, only that you do not have any more job security than any other Australian worker.
  5. How did you go with this? Did he need to get evidence?
  6. Well said CaptainC! An occupation on the list does not indicate point in time demand in a dynamic market. Best to be prepared to reinvent, and always seek the support of experienced career counselors early and do not rely on recruitment firms alone.
  7. The cheapest option with quickest exposure to the CBD is to take a bed in a backpackers lodge, but sleep can be compromised. Cost is around AU125 per week. Shakespeares is a good one. Then, when you know you way around and have become a little networked you can find a room in the suburbs for maybe AU$175, then get a place for the family later.
  8. Strikker, in this case undertaking means 'doing' not promising, so you must do the research and provide the reasons on both counts. You can do internet research to get a local career coach to help you to understand the market quicker. Yes, you do the research and write your case prior to lodgement as it is such information as required for assessment.
  9. Research http://www.inpex.com.au/our-projects/ichthys-lng-project
  10. You can still consider employer sponsorship with the subclass 187 for PR? But, likely easier to take the State Nomination route, then find the work, any work, when you get here. I am with Ozmaniac, Gladstone could be the go. Research and approach some employers there. In NSW, consider Gunnedah, smallish place, but a bit on and the RCB would be happy to Nominate I would think.
  11. Sure is a quieter market than it was for ICT a couple of years ago. Part of the trick is to know you core expertise, research employers who will be interested in that, make the right approaches looking for conversations, then be relentless in maintaining contact and following up. Keep applying for advertised jobs for sure, but add to your potential luck with some well thought through relationship development work, hard yo do from offshore I know.
  12. Hi Terry One of the challenges for any employer if inclined to go to the trouble of sponsoring you would be proving that they cannot find an existing Australian to do the work. You might be better considering other visa options at the immigration website, or consult a MARA agent. Sorry, can't help with salary, but there are guides available if you google Payscale.
  13. Larger employers will sponsor, but it is far easier and a more certain result to go with the 189 pathway, then deal with the regulatory issues as you lead up to visa approval and after you arrive. Up to date information is available at VBA, link below. Be prepared to have to build a business though, meaning you might need the finances to carry you through for a fair while. http://www.vba.vic.gov.au/practitioners/plumbing-licencing-and-registrations
