update, met with a migration agent last night, as it turns out the system will let you submit with 60 points still but the dept are onyl looking at people with 70 minimum at present. To address a few of the above points, i could increase my english score but it would be a close call thing and still no guarantee as i got 9,9,8.5,7 on my first test. The agent advised me that spousal is the best option i have at present so im going for that, im onshore at the moment im not sure if they process those faster or slower than off shore? many thanks for the replies guys

Ahhhh ok, I'm thinking I may apply for a spousal visa at this rate! double the cost and probably double the hassle though! thank you for the reply.

Hey guys, I recently submitted an EOI for a 189 subclass and I have 60 points as the homeaffairs website states, however since contacting a couple of migration lawyers ive been told the minimum is 70? Is anybody able to confirm this for me? Im now in panic mode as my 457 expires in july!

Does anybody have a general idea of how long it takes to recieve an invitation after submitting an expression of interest for a 189? my 457 expires in july and I put my EOI in on the 19th of March (leaving it last minute and playing with fire!). Im not worried about reciving the visa grant i jsut want to get on to the bridging visa to relive the stress!
