  1. Hi Bungo, yes that's an idea. We are looking at going in November then bringing him over in the January, he will stay in our home and we have family that are going to look after him. i will have a look into a trainer and see what's around. Yes, he is super intelligent even for a dog in double figures! Thanks!
  2. Hi, I am looking for some advice on my dog, he is called Kai and is a border collie. We rescued him from the RSPCA around 5 years ago, he was abandoned by his previous owners. it took him a while to settle with us, very nervous and anxious. He he is a brilliant dog now, very loyal and loving but he is very pack orientated with myself and my husband and doesn't really like being separated. He is very settled when he is in his own environment but if we take him to the in laws house he just doesn't settle and can whine quite a bit. do you have advice on putting this kind of dog through the process of taking to Australia? We really want him with us as we would never want to give him up. Many thanks, Sarah
  3. Hi all, Myself and my husband lodged our visa on the 24th June!! Super exciting, we are planning on being out in Melbourne the first week of November :-) We have been told by our emigration agent it takes around 3 months to be assigned a case officer. Can you arrange Medicaid and police checks within that 3 months or not? Thanks x
  4. I will re-look at St Kilda then! South Yarra I have read good things about too. I suppose until we get there and have a good look around who knows where we will settle!!
  5. Hi BB, Hank you for the reply. They were the two places when reading up seemed to jump out at me. I haven't read great things about St Kilda, dirty, very busy etc. Northcote looked like it was quite close to a lot of parks and Yarraville near the river.... Sarah
  6. Well they all seem to be to the east or north of the city and from what I have looked in to everywhere seems pretty easy to get to! Thank you anyway!

Hi! What do you mean by having to present?? My husband has just got his IELTS back, which he passed with flying colours thank god! This has now been sent off as part of the assessment and we paid the intro fee, we have been told it could take up to 12 weeks!! Appreciate your advice. Thank you ?
  8. Hi everyone, This is my first post on here. Me and my husband started our visa application in December 2014, he is a nurse so that is our way in! He has just passed IELTS and now waiting for the assessment to come through to submit our EOI. I have a couple of questions..... Northcote or Yarraville? From what I have researched they both seem great, Yarraville very up and coming. We would be looking for easy access to open spaces, close to water of some sort, good social activities such as cafes and restaurants. We would be looking to rent a house with a budget of about $600 per week. Northcote looks cool with a different kind of vibe and properties look great here. 2nd question relates to my profession, although I doubt I will find anyone on here who does the same job as me! I am a Product Development Manager for a large food manufacturing company working on chilled, short shelf life products. I would be looking to do an equivalent job in Melbourne. From what I have seen there seems to be lots of jobs advertised, even if I had to drop down a level I wouldn't mind. If anyone has any advice I would be really grateful!! Thank you ?
