Hey guy, I have great news this morning. As I said I lodged my application on 24 Nov. I called IMMI 2 weeks ago and they said my file has been allocated to one of the team in Sydney. Now. I received a request for additional documents!! So , you should call immi and see if your file has been allocated. If yes, you may just need to wait for 2-3 more weeks...

What additional documents did they request?

How are people submitting their visa application and nomination request at same time? I thought you needed the approved nomination reference number before you could start the application? My 457 expires May4 and I'm chasing my employer to do nomination and getting worried that I only have 6 weeks to get my application (187) started!

 

if my employer nom doesn't come in before may 4 do I have to leave country?

You need to talk to your employer again and explain that you need the nomination lodged ASAP as you are running out of time. Don't wait until May or you will be in a tight spot. If your 187 visa is not lodged by the end of April then you better pack your bags and be on the plane out of Australia by 4 May.

Employers need to be chased. Mine took 7 months from the time they agreed to nominate me for PR to actual lodgement of the nomination.

this is a new information for me ..i dint know that our partner should write IELTS ? how much they have to get in ielts ? is there any alternative option if partner cant reach the required point ?.

This is the checklist from DIBP website and shows you have to prove your dependents over 18 years of age have functional English. If you can't prove functional English for dependents then you have to pay a significant amount of money.

You must provide proof that your partner has functional english.

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test result of an average band score of at least 4.5 based on the four test components of speaking, reading, listening and writing. Your test must have been completed within 12 months of visa application lodgement or can be completed during visa application processing.

If your partner cannot achieve this score, there are other ways to prove functional English. Please read link on how you can prove this:

As you can see it states: English language ability (must be demonstrated at time of application). So be careful, if you are not exempted from the English language requirement and you do not provide an IELTS of 6 each module at the time you lodge your application, then your visa might be refused because you did not satisfy the English requirement AT TIME OF APPLICATION

Depending on where you are from, you might be exempted from IELTS so check the exemptions if one applies to you.

You can only upload IELTS after visa lodgement for dependents. But for primary applicants it must be satisfied ​at time of application/lodgement.

Hey guys, I apologize this might be off topic but, I've only got a month left on my WHV and I'm about to apply for my nomination and visa together next week, now my question is do I need to do the english test before or can I do it after I lodge my application? You should have your IELTS result BEFORE you lodge your visa application.

hi i have lodged my nomination on 12 dec ,and visa on 18 feb 2015. i have not t heard anything yet.but after looking at everyone timeline i m expecting that my nomination could take another month.

 

But kindly give me a suggestion.i have not get my medical done and my MA told me that i should wait for my nomination to get a approved . is it fine if i get my medical done now or should i wait for my case officer to ask me for medical ??

I'm confused...I read in DIBP website that medicals should be done before lodging visa thru 'my health declaration" or if you have already lodge the visa, the website says you have to wait fr CO to request it.

Can we do medicals after lodgement but before being allocated to CO? if yes, then where can we get a referral letter with HAP ID?

My 187 visa was granted today! Just thought I'd share my timeline with you because it went very, very fast.

 

RCB applied: Oct 30

RCB approved: Nov 10

Nomination & Application submitted: Dec 2

Nomination approved: Feb 26

187 visa granted: Feb 27

 

I guess I had all my documents in order, and also I'm from a low risk country so that probably helped. But it was just under 3 months from application to approval, so things are moving pretty quickly over there.

Thank you for your reply, i just check on the link you just posted about the functional english, im a secondary applicant and i took my ielts last year and i get 6.5 im worried that i cannot use it anymore because it will more than 12 months before we can lodge our visa on June this year, i want to avoid paying the second installment, if ever i will not take ielts anymore i read in the link "

Hi Leah,

Philippine schools issue a document called CERTIFICATE OF ENGLISH AS MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION. Schools usually already have a format of this. I also graduated in the Philippines and have requested this from my school.

one of my friends applied his visa application on 14th of October 2014. His file is opened yesterday and the case officer asked for AFP clearance and the police report from his country as well although they were supplied before. They asked for the fresh reports. So just let you guys, if your police reports are expired or about to expire better get new and upload them straightaway. Sometimes the MAs do not tell these these things.[/quote)

 

What was the expiration date of your friend's PCC from his country?

Yes joeldee my police check is over 12 months old and I have been back in UK since it was issued!

How many months did you stay in UK when you went back? When did your UK PCC expire?

Hi Steven, I am in the same situation my wife is not able to get IELTS score.

Did you still attached IELTS certificate with lower then required score in it or you did not submit anything for your wife?

We knew from the very beginning that she would not be able to pass it at this stage, so she did not sit IELTS exam at all....

There are other ways to prove functional english for dependents. Did you try getting certificates of English as Medium of Instruction from your wife's school?

I did it 11 Feb 2015 online and on 12 Feb 2015 got email that the checks were completed on will be on the mail. Very easy to do it online

I have a question, if the PCC from previous country of residence is valid at the time you lodge your application but expires while waiting for a CO, do we need to get a new one? ( eventhough you have not been back in that country since? I understand we need current PCC from current country of residence but not sure for previous countries.

I did apply in November for my 187 visa as a Health Practice Manager (with my wife and son as dependents) and this is my timeline:

It looks it is going quickly considering the average time. I know that something changed from the 22nd of November, but I am not sure that my application has been influenced by this changes.

I am bit Confused, between on sure and off sure file.... any time difference????

The RSMS 187 was simplified (there is no more separate onshore or offshore file) that is why I was wondering if I am in Australia when I lodged my RSMS 187, then I go overseas using my 457 visa which is still valid until 2016. If while I am overseas DIBP decides to grant my 187 before my scheduled reutrn to Australia, will there be problems with Immigration at the airport when I arrive? as I was onshore when it was lodged but offshore when it is granted?

I am hoping to lodge my RSMS transition stream visa by July or August (once the nomination is approved, nomination lodged 2 February). I plan to go overseas on December for about a month. If I lodge my visa application ONSHORE on August and go overseas on December, what will happen if the visa application is granted while I am overseas? Will there be problems?

But if we're going through an agent won't they just send both things in at the same time to get a quicker response. Yep were also paying for the agent which includes dealing with the employers papers too!

As you are the agent's client since you are the one paying (and I assume you are the one who signed the client agreement with the agent), your agent is bound to follow your instructions. So you can tell the agent to lodge only the nomination part and hold off the visa part until the nomination is approved. This may take longer to get the visa granted but financially you are safer.

Say Yes and provide details of when it was if it's possible to do so. If you answer No and are later asked for Form 80s, there will be a discrepancy.

A PCC isn't needed for that period because it was longer than 10 years ago.

For DIBP purposes, PCCs/FBI clearances are only valid for 1 year. Your wife would need a new FBI clearance if she had lived in the USA for 12 months or more in the last 10 years but it sounds like her only period of residence there was in 1994/1998.

I have a question in the online application. In question 15 it asked if any of the applicant have lived outside of the country of usual residence. My wife lived in the USA from 1994 to 1998 (which is more than 10 years ago. Do I have to put her address there?(she can't even remember the exact address (number of her apartment). And would she be needing an FBI/police clearance from there? She has an FBI clearance but it was issued in 2005. Do we need to get a new FBI clearance for her?

I am confused because I have read somewhere that police clearance is needed only from countries you have lived during the past 10 years.

I just wanted to know. Is it possible to fill up the visa application form in immiaccount but not to lodge it yet? If so, can I still edit the answers on it after I save and print it and review it? or do is it considered lodged once I have filled up the form even though it has not been paid yet
