  1. Just got email from MA. My nomination was approved today.

    My timeline: 187 Transition stream

    Nomination lodged: 2 February 2015

Additional docs requested: 22 April 2015

deadline given by IMMI : 29 April 2015

Add docs submitted on deadline: 29 April 2015

    Nomination Approved: 1 May 2015

187 Visa: Not yet lodged...hopefully will be able to lodge by Monday

  2. Immigration department is unpredictable. You never know when your file will be allocated. Lodged my nomination 2 February and on 22 April was asked for additional documents but was only given 7 days to submit unlike most people who were given 28 days. Today is our deadline to submit additional documents. But employer has not given the documents to MA yet. MA chasing employer and hopefully employer will submit on time.

We have not lodged visa as we are waiting for nomination approval as our nomination was not straightforward, and we do not want to lose $7,040 (family of 4) if nomination is refused.

Got email from my agent, she was employer was able to provide additional documents on time to meet yesterday's deadline. Hope we get approval soon

  3. I seem to have done something different to the rest of you.

RCB - Approved, Nomination submitted the 17th Feb. When do you think I will hear if this has been approved or not?I know it has only been 2 months!! I have not yet submitted my visa application as I was going to wait to see if nomination has been approved first. I will have all my police checks done and health checks done hopefully in the next month, so I can just submit it all at the same time? Will this help?

Good Luck everyone :) and well done to those that have had approval recently!!

  4. Hi Vishal Patel and everyone,

Regarding to your suggestion, I email them to follow up the result today at 11:00 am. I didn't respect any result, but I got email notification that my nomination was approved at 3:00 pm. Unbelievable it's work!!!!

My visa application should be granted today. unfortunately, my Australian police check is not qualified. That is my mistake when I applied for police check I selected the wrong one.

I selected a standard one instead of the complete one. Hopefully, new police check will be arrived ASAP.

What is the difference between standard police check and complete police check? Does it say on the lletter you receive from AFP if it is a standard one or a complete one?

  5. Hi Deep,

documents were requested on 10th April and my employer's accountant hasn't provided the documents yet.

my MA is chasing my employer. Hopefully by next week they will submit the documents.

your 28 days are over then you should hear something soon.

I have noticed mostly people get their visa exactly on 30 th day.

I am hoping mine after 10th May only.

    All the best to you.:)

Additional documents requested for my nomination on 22 April but we were given only 7 days by CO to submiited. According to MA deadline given by CO is 29 April. Anybody in same situation? My nomination was lodged 2feb 2015

  6. After 2 years on a 457 we are in the process of applying for PR through the temporary residents transition stream.

We are using a MA. On the employer nominatio form from the agency it asks for the amount spent on training over the past 12 months.

It says that if you are applying through the direct entry stream you need to provide evidence of the amount spent. Does this mean that in my case it's not needed?

I know my employer is struggling to get the figures together and suspect they will provide a guesstimate. I'm worried that if they do this they won't have evidence to back it up.

Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences?

We are going through 187 transition stream. Nomination ladged Feb 2015 and still waiting for word from DIBP. Evidence of training expenditure is needed for the transition stream. This is important to show employer has complied with their obligations as your 457 visa sponsor.

  7. I have a question regarding the 187 online application form on immiaccount. On the part where it asks for PREVIOUS COUNTRIES OF RESIDENCE. Do we have to list all previous countries of residence since birth OR just the countries we have lived in the last 10 years? In the form 80 it says addresses in the last 10 years, but on the online 187 application form in immiaccount, it just asks this "Has any applicant lived in a country other than the primary applicant's usual country of Residence?" I am confused if I should put only the countries I have lived in the last 10 years or all the countries since birth.

  8. We posted our FBI over around the 3rd week of March. Yes, I have written confirmation from the FBI that you are allowed to take the fingerprints by yourself on a printed FD 258 form.

"You can capture your own fingerprints however we suggest a professional. If the fingerprints are not captured correctly, the processing time will be delayed"

They do not even specify the type of paper to be used for printing.

"We do not require any special paper for the process. Regular printer paper is fine."

We did our fingerprints ourselves, and sent them across. There's no way of knowing whether they are accepted or not until your credit card is charged I think. That would take at least 8 weeks from what I have read around. So we're in the waiting game now. However, we haven't received our invitation yet (EOI submitted on 23/03/2015 with 60 pts)... so fingers crossed for the next round... Anyone know what the chances are of being invited on April 24th?

What email address did you use to contact FBI to ask for clarifications. Can I have the FBI email address. Thanks

What kind of ink did you use?

  10. Despite the fact that we have resided in the UK since September 2004 our CO has asked my wife and I for police checks from the time we lived in Japan.

Has as anyone else been asked for anything similar? I sent a query as on the application forms it states that we have to provide evidence from all countries lived in for the past ten years.

Before anyone one says anything, no we don't have anything to hide(!), and I sent our CO old Japanese police checks covering the pertinent time scales.

Any experiences shared would be great.

What visa subclass did you apply? I am concerned now since I applied for RSMS 187. have been in the United States for 4 years from 1994 to 1998 (which is already beyond the 10 years mark). Should I apply for FBI check from the US? I know the DIBP website states police checks in countries you have lived for the past 10 years only. So I am concerned now since you have been asked for Japan police checks as you haven't been in Japan sine 2004 (beyond the 10 year mark already).

  11. Question pls - my current employer will be nominating me for my 187 Visa application, however their Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) expired last week and they need to renew that before they can submit my nomination request. How long roughly does it take to renew your SBS? My 457 expires very soon, and i've been waiting for them to get the nomination submitted so i can submit my application but I'm running out of time......

My employer's SBS have also expired and they did not renew their SBS as they are now under Labour Agreemnet not SBS. Since my 457 was under SBS not Labour Agreement, I contacted about 10 MA's to ask about this. 8 out of the 10 agents said the SBS does not have to be current for a 187 Transition stream nomination, 2 out of 10 agents said the SBS has to be unexpired. So we decided to have the nomination lodged without renewing the SBS first. However, we are still waiting for the decision from DIBP as it was lodged only 2 months ago. We have not lodged the visa part as we wanted to wait for nomination decision as our nomination was complicated as there were technical issues with regards to the employer's ABN.

  12. My employer has been quoted $2k just to do the nomination (for a 187). This seems ludicrous given whats required - my employer knows they have to get payroll and training figures etc (they did all this for my 457 3 yrs ago). Is that the going rate, or is someone pulling a fast one? NB it is the transition stream as i've been in the nominated position for 3 years

I have been quoted by several MA for a 187 Transition stream nomination only (excluding the visa application part). I have been quoted between $2000-$3000. So the $2,000 you have been quoted is fair. I don't think you can get a MA (a good MA) lower than that.

  13. need help please. The Australian Immigration website says there should be evidence of skill assessment if applying offshore. how do i go through that? thanks in advance

    Read this link

    https://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/skilled-occupations/skills-assessed.htm

You'll find the assessing authority responsible for your nominated occupation. You have to check that particular authority's requirements. I suggest you consult a good migration agent first and ask if your nominated occupation requires skills assessment as there are some occupations that do not need skills assessment.

  14. Hi duckbird congratulations

You know which processing centre was it? It has been 27 days since they asked for the further documents. Still I'm waiting. Grr!

    Hi Stubborn1,

I see in your timeline that your application was decision ready when you lodged but IMMI still asked for further documents. So I was wondering what further documents they were asking?

  15. Guys, please do not fall into this trap!

You should have all your documents ready BEFORE the CO opens your case. Otherwise they will request the documents and put your case on hold for another 28 days before they assess it again. Sometimes it's quicker but why put yourself through another month of waiting...

That is the reason I ask what documents are being requested to find out if there are documents not listed in the IMMi website that the Case officers are requesting.

Has anyone here been requested for a PCC from a country you have lived more than 10 years ago? IMMI website states PCC are pnly needed for countries you have lived during the last 10 years but i was wondering if there is a case when a PCC was requested beyond the 10 year period?

My wife lived in the USA from 1994 to 1998 which is 17 years ago, are we going to be asked to provide PCC from the USA eventhough its beyond the 10 year mark?

  16. Hello Guys,

    Following you since 1years now

But i have a big probleme, here it is:

    I don't have a migration agent

    I have my 457 visa since 03 january 2013

My boss submited the nomination on the 27/11/2014

I applied for the visa on the 13 january 2015 I did the medical test but i didn't send any document as I was going to do it today !

And i received an email yesterday from the immi that tell me the nomination is refused

    They don't say why !

Any advice for me guys ? thanks very much

For or the transitional stream, the nomination must be lodged after you have been with the employer for 2 years. in your case, you lodged the visa after you have been with employer for 2 years, BUT you were only 22 months with the employer when the nomination was lodged, so you have not met the 2 year requirement on the nomination part.

did your employer lodge direct entry or transitional stream? If they lodge through transition stream then the reason is obvious as you have not met the 2-year requirement. If they lodge through direct entry stream, then the reason for refusal should be in the refusal letter. Ask your employer what was the reason.

This is is the risk of lodging the visa part without getting the nomination part approved first. You lose the money you paid for the visa part.

I suggest you have your employer lodge a new nomination using a good MA. Wait for the nomination to be approved, then lodge a new visa application once you have approval of the nomination. it will take longer to get PR but your money is safer.
