  1. I'm usually very impatient, imagine how I feel!! Ps: awesome profile pic
  2. NSW is sponsoring BAs the last time I checked, so you can bolster your points with an additional 5 points and lodge an expression for an 190 Visa if you want - it's what I did to get a quicker invite.
  3. Yes, you need to fill it in for the both of you, just in case.
  4. Crossed fingers and toes! What are all these "requested docs" people keep referring to though? Do you mean the medicals / police clearance and the like, or supplementary info to support claims you've worked at a certain place, etc? My agent is handing all of these sort of things, so I'm a little in the dark about the submission process.
  5. Don't read too much into other people's timelines.
  6. I'm an ICT BA (went through RPL route) that also got no experience points, and ended up with 60+5 (with 20 language points) for NSW. EOI Lodged: 30 April Invited to apply: 7 May Hope that helps @Hashtag
  7. @Bobner , how come you didn't go via 189 or 190? I also didn't get any experience points for work (ICT Business analyst...but have a degree in Marketing) and did the RPL like you, but still qualified for the above.
  8. To add to this. I have a bunch of the official Cambridge PDFs (scanned copies of the official books) all zipped up in a dropbox folder for anyone after more prep. There's a README txt file in the folder, download that too, as I added some instructions on how to find the corresponding Youtube audio tests. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pnet618874e88ds/AABWg4Tl3omblG1WPE-JVKqVa?dl=0
  9. Not a silly question - a Grant is a positive assessment for your visa application. I have experience of a target group of one, but I couldn't be happier with Stephen Dickson http://www.migrateaus.com.au My first email to him, was in 2010... and with the hundreds of emails and stupid questions from me... he's not charged me a penny more than his schedule of cost / payments. He is in Australia, but it doesn't matter as he's never taken longer than a day to respond to any of my queries.
  10. Unsure about the specific occupation, but I know that for a SC457 visa, only IELTS and OET is accepted.
  11. Depends on you / the complexity of your case. Personally, I think of an agent as insurance. There's too much at stake for me, to NOT use an agent.. and really, they're hardly a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. I'd have never been able to get a grant by myself I wouldn't have thought. I would have made a mistake and ballsed up by claiming too many experience points, or something along those lines.
  12. As CaptainC said...if PTE A is an option for you (which I'm pretty sure if for secondary applicant regardless of Visa... but worth checking that fact), then I'd strongly advise doing that instead. Not just because of my strong feelings about the subject (see http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/231707-ielts-v-s-pearson-test-english-academic-pte-academic-my-personal-findings.html ) , but your results will be much faster (2 days VS 2 weeks) and most likely you'll get a spot sooner (IELTS are usually booked up near months in advance in some places)
  13. In your case, the "clock" started ticking on the 12th August (the day everything's uploaded), which is one day before me (even though the initial lodgement was July). I know I shouldn't try and read anything into it or try see patterns, where there are none.... but man I hope this means my grant (hopefully!!) is close. Congrats again!
  14. Don't do that. Like Bungo and CaptainC said, just get the results first, then go ahead and do the lot. There is no upside in doing what you're trying to do, only adding risk.
  15. @apra216 My wife only provided a letter from her High School, stating that her tuition was in English - this is sufficient for a secondary applicant.
  16. I was contacted by an Aussie company (that I've had previous conversations with, through some measure of nepotism) ... and they asked me if I'll be available for interview towards the end of November. It so happens, that it's a job right up my alley, in the ideal location outside of a main City... 10 minutes form where I intend to live. I've been in sporadic contact with them for well over a year, and for them to contact me like this out of the blue, does bode well for me but it really makes the wait that little bit extra stressful. Hope all these quick grants we're seeing will apply to us too!

    visa issues

Ya got no choice Loads of us in here are in the "waiting stage" , so you're not alone... if that's any consolation.
  18. This is exactly what I did with form 80, just passed it on to the other half. We've lead a nomadic existence, traveled a lot, and I have had a lot of jobs...so the form was a right pain in the arse.
  19. F*ck yea @mgreaves, well done! I'd love to feel that sense of relief again, such an amazing feeling ain't it?!
  20. Not here to pick a fight @Kellie23 , as I'm just sat here browsing this subforum, while bored at work I just can't believe no one's pointed out the supreme irony of this statement ... unless I read that wrong, and you were tired about the people moaning about said foreigners, as opposed to you being tired of foreigners?
