  1. Hi Steve, Yep.......nearly there. We also accepted an offer on the house on Thursday, not counting our chickens yet but looking at April 26th for exchange of contracts. Our dogs "Poppy and Aussie" can fly out of the UK from May 5th (earliest date because of Rabies shots). So if all goes to plan we'll be in Perth by middle of May. After years of planning, I can't believe in 7 weeks it will actually happen. Weird !!! I have found the logistics of our move to be the most challenging. Bringing together a date for the house, the dogs, the visa, a removal company. I know it will all be worth it very soon. :ssign19: Cheers Phil
  2. Hi @Harvi13 So excited for you "GOOD LUCK" and I hope your progress is smooth and quick. Cheers Phil
  3. Hi Lorraine, Welcome to "the madhouse" :ssign7: I'm certain that we all started out sound of mind, as far as I can remember. You'll get a lot of comfort sharing your frustrations and tribulations with others who are venturing through the same process and also lots of useful and helpful insight. It really is great know you can chat with people who understand what you are doing. Sit back and enjoy the ride for now because the frustration rises closer to your date of exit from the waiting room. As I'm sure all early 2014'ers will testify. Cheers Phil
  4. Hi Kim, :ssign7: I have been fired up with expectation since early Feb, it's no good for the blood pressure  There is no doubt that the pace has slowed, I wonder if the large volume of applications in March has just meant that all the COs have been busy completing those cases and just unable to open new ones ? rather than an issue with numbers ? Everyday brings us all a little closer to our dream. Phil
  5. Hi Maisie, Fantastic news for you !!!! and all of us behind you in the waiting room. Hope all runs like clockwork and you attain a speedy exit through the door. All eyes now on @Harvi13 Phil
  6. Hi Kim, Does that mean we'll all get our visas at a reduced rate ? .......not....... :biglaugh::biglaugh: Phil
  7. Hi Kim, Now that's what I call "Pro-Active" Congratulations. I know it feels great to at least get Meds out of way. Just shows "it's all in the wording" as @AlanSteel has now used your technique and also had a successful response. Well done for showing the way  Cheers Phil
  8. Hi All, I'm going stir crazy in the waiting room. Seriously.........IMMI, 3 days in 3 weeks ??? There was a hope 3 weeks ago that we would have a CO before our 30th Wedding Anniversary on the 15th Guess I need to rethink a prezzy Lol:laugh: Maybe we'll get another update tomorrow saying they have moved along to actually picking a 4th April application up from under their coffee cup. Phil
  9. Hi, No need to be sorry, the great thing about the forum is we all started from zero knowledge  Assurance of Support Cheers Phil
  10. Hi, Do you know much of the 40' are you using ? I don't think £5.2k will be for a full container, as they are loading at the depot they will be using what's left to ship other goods. As per our 4th quote. Cheers Phil
  11. Hi All, I have now got all 4 of my quotes in for moving to Oz, this is based on a 40" container including the crating and shipping of my Harley (customs fees are on top of these quotes) It is entirely up to the individual how much value you put on all your Worldly goods and the insurance is calculated at a % of the total value. All who quoted us have said that there is a small amount of negotiation about this fee. The other quite amazing thing is that they are all very similar in the total volume and have said we are using about 3/4 of the container. Dorree Bonner £6700 +4% Ins (Sole use container) 8-10 weeks Anglo Pacific £6287 +3% Ins (Sole Use Container) 8-10 weeks PSS £6227 (Started at £6377) +3% Ins (Sole Use Container) 8-10 weeks Pickfords £5544 (Started at £5974) +3% Ins (Shared Container) 8-12 weeks They have all stated that the container will be filled at our house and a bulkhead place inside to stop our good moving. The Pickfords container will be taken back to their yard and the remaining space used before shipping. Food for thought ?? Hope this info is useful to anyone who hasn't yet got that far with there planning and research. Cheers Phil
  12. Hi Joe, Don't know about shuffling but I think I feel an "Irish Jig" coming on.:ssign19: It is great to hear that "one more of us" will be making the progression. Phil
  13. FANTASTIC news Linda :jiggy::jiggy::jiggy: I'm delighted for you......and the rest of US  Phil
  14. Hi Steve, Yep, checking back through emails from our Agent "On 22 March 2014 the VAC increases intended for 1 September 2013 took effect" There must have been a lot of late applications to get through, VERY VERY disappointing not to see any progress after the positives of a speedy March14. I agree with @Skeelsy regarding the disappearing/appearing line of "On or After this date" We've got so close, lets not lose it now :biglaugh: Cheers Phil
  15. Hi Maisie, Hopefully Immi aren't having a week with their feet up  Fingers crossed for you also. Cheers Phil
  16. Hi Kim, Yep it's a bit weird, it's just, that we're all kindred spirits with the same end goal. There is something very satisfying about one of our number getting the call and ..... we all get to move forward in the queue. Come on Linda we're all with you Cheers Phil
  17. Hi Harvi, We must be both thinking the same thing, posted at the same time. I keep checking and hoping. Cheers Phil
  18. Hi Linda, I know that your on hols but I'm hoping you've had the email by now. Fingers and everything crossed for you. Cheers Phil
  19. Hi Amanda, Yes its a great Idea. We have opened a Commbank Foreign Currency account as well as our Aussie account and the IMPORTANT thing as you said is to make sure your use a currency broker to convert it at the right time into AUD. At the current rate of 1.94 at the time of posting Commbank are only giving 1.8635 as opposed to TorFX at 1.925 It all adds up !! We "forward bought" a chunk of our money in Nov at a rate of 2.145 (for a 5% down payment). We did this in order to split our Risk. Wish we'd now have bought more . Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Brexit !!!!!!!!! Phil
  20. Hi Linda, I think that your application must be sat on the top of a pile on the desk of one of our "lesser spotted friends". So close but not quite there before the weekend  Good luck for early next week. Cheers Phil
  21. Hi Amanda, I was requested by our agent to do Police Checks when we we're requested for Meds but there is no referral letter for this to be done. Go onto the ACRO site and get them out of the way, that's' one less thing to stress about and I suppose it will feel pro-active. The only criteria is that you will have 12months from the date of your Police check (been earlier than meds) to enter Oz but I'm presuming you'll be doing that anyway. It is getting exciting with lots of anticipated forth coming good news for applicants on the forum, bringing you closer to the front of the queue. Cheers Phil
  22. Hi Bev50Bradley, Our son applied for a Police Check while in Australia no problem. It's simple form that just needs an added qualification from someone who is on the approved list of careers. You don't have to present at a station and it can be posted to Oz for an extra fee. Cheers Phil
  23. Hi Joe, ??? So confused but very happy. We were stuck in mid Feb for an age and now we're racing through March. :chatterbox: Come on Immi :chatterbox: come on. Keep up the chant. Happy Phil
