  1. Hi guys thanks,we followed this thread loads recently and it was a huge help through an anxious wait.application went to parramatta office and visa granted by a senior c o at just after 9am from WA.we live in melbourne.off to celebrate!!have a good weekend people and hope you all get good news real soon!!
  2. We are from the north of Ireland.(supposedly part of the uk)so don't know if that's high or low risk!lol we didn't use a migration agent.as far as I can see you pay them a few to upload documents you have to get yourself anyway and it certainly doesn't speed up the process from when the application is put in going by the various timelines of all different visas.suppose they're handy for people not confident in filling out forms.to people who have just applied realistically no one seems to be getting a grant within 2 months-we were 73 days and I know how frustrating it must be for people waiting over 3 months.keep positive:)
  3. Hi folks we finally got the good news after a process that started in January. Nomination rejected under transition due to promotion(nurse-nurse manager) April nomination approved in direct entry-told to apply after skills assess by vetassess-2months wait for positive result.apply for visa on immi ac on 10june all documents, police checks from here and home(no form80s)-did medicals 17 June. No contact until grant this morning.Happy days!!!!good luck to all waiting-it was very stressful. Visa application to grant-10 1/2 weeks.what a way to start the weekend!!
  4. Don't get a Vic drivers licence until you have to-drive on uk one until you need it.reason being speed cameras are rife everywhere and you get penalty points and fine.points can't be put on uk licence-you will still have fine to pay though.its very easy for speed to creep up a couple of k's in a 50 zone-learnt the hard way-also learn what all the parking signs mean-again we learnt the hard way!
  5. Congratulations!!! you seem to be the first of the June applicants to have had good news!
  6. It was a problem for my partner-same ward for 3 years but got promoted from nurse to nurse manager.rejected under transition, had to apply under direct entry and do skills assessment as not in role 2 years(as manager).
  7. One thing for sure you have not considered is how expensive oz is to live-without an income you will be paying a fortune here for rent and food etc. you would be mad to come to oz before your visa is granted. It goes without saying you were mad to quit your jobs before receiving your visa for oz.my advice-stay put and get some work-get your kid back in school then when(if) you get visa-make move with return tickets.you could be waiting anywhere from 1-12+weeks-no one ever knows for sure!
  8. I would advise getting return tickets because we did the single ticket path and then paid a fortune to visit family back home buying our tickets in oz.plus if you decide to go home for good it's easier-you won't know until you're here.some stay some don't.dont underestimate the power of homesickness!but anyway return flights are cheaper in uk.
