  1. Hang in there folks. We have been here 18 months now and nothing beats being able to have the grandkids over for a sleepover! All the stress and anxiety is def worth it in the end
  2. Hi my friend has just done this. She lodged the 804 in Australia while on the e visa and wS put on a bridging visa straight away no medical now but will have one when they are put in the queue which will be between 12- 18 months time Hope this helps.
  3. Hi Kim I must say we have had a lot of ups and downs since moving over probably fair to say more downs than ups but I am hoping (fingers crossed) that we have moved into the more ups than downs stage!. My 13 year old son is finding it very hard to settle and still wants to go back. He misses his friends dreadfully and has struggled to make new ones but this last fortnight seems to have made some friends so am hoping he is now on an up! Have really struggled to get work but Clive (my husband) started work last week and had his first pay today so we can now eat!!! I am still looking for work here in Perth there are at least 300 applicants for most jobs so it is very hard to get your foot through the door but I have managed to get as far as interviews twice so am sure I will get something it just takes time. Clive and I love living here but getting used to the Australian way of doing things is proving very frustrating! But living near the children and grandchildren is worth all the aggro and having family days out is so good. It has turned colder now but we don't find it too bad as we are not totally accclimatised yet but am starting to think about a heater esp for the bathroom as it is freezing when you get out of the shower. Would love to meet up with you when you visit in September so let me know when you are over and we can arrange to get together. Linda
  4. Hang on in there Kim. Keep strong and I am sure you will manage to get it sorted. I remember clearly how stressful it all is but now with your added complications it must be pushing you very near the edge. Keep positive and fingers crossed for you all. Linda
  5. Hi Joe you must have had a jobs worth. We got our temporary card with no problems and then when we had our pr we had to show our visa confirmation.Thats one of the problems here every time you go to do something you get a different answer depending who you see. Very frustrating. Linda
  6. Hi Sadge I was one of the lucky ones and I was given all this information with my acknowledgment letter so I was able to have everything done ready for the case officer. I am assuming you will get an email from Immi with the relevant info so you can get these things done. Sorry not much help Linda
  7. Hi everyone When you ask for your HAP ids don't forget to also ask for the centrelink referral letter for your AOS as the AOS takes a lot longer to do than your medicals. You need the referral letter from Immi to take to centrelink to start the ball rolling. Linda
  8. Hi Steve I have my visa letter in front of me and it says Applicants who are in Australia An application cannot be finalised while an applicant is in Australia. All applicants who are in Australia are required to make arrangements to depart Australia within 28 days of the date of this email. Within 7 days applicants are required to provide a scanned copy of their departure arrangements from Australia to the Parent Visa Centre. Applicants should allow a minimum of 3 working days for a visa to be granted following departure from Australia. Hope this helps. I am almost certain that you both have to enter together to activate visa. Good Luck. You are nearly at the end. Linda
  9. Hi Maisie glad you have the request for the bond. Am pretty sure the cheque will have to be payable to herself or commonwealth bank as she will actually be opening some type of special account that will be in her name.Once the bond money is deposited you then have to wait for another letter from centrelink to say that the AOS has been done and this letter then has to be scanned to Immi. That's what we had to do last month. Hope this helps and hang in there you nearly at the end of the road Linda
  10. I don't think emailing case officer will help as the AOS bond is dealt with by centrelink and you have to wait for centrelink to give you all the info to lodge bond at the bank. Linda
  11. Hi Bev not sure where that is but will look it up on google. Happy to help with any questions Linda
  12. Great news Phil we are in Perth if you want to meet up when you arrive let me know Linda
  13. Hi Bev we are in Ridgewood in the northern suburbs. whereabouts will you be? Let me know when you come and we can arrange a meet up Linda
  14. Hi Joe Am happy to meet up for a coffee or something if you are interested. Let me know. Would be good to meet some new people. Linda
