  1. I am degree trained but new criteria was updated this week about continuity of care experience so I really hope you're right matthewroberts... How disappointing if I get there and have to work in a cafe/supermarket/etc because I don't want to work full time on supervised practice! (Not the supervised but that's a problem, the full time bit is!)
  2. Me neither Jen. Feel very down about it
  3. I lodged on the 23rd, have uploaded the certified documents and ordered the PCC, just need to get medicals arranged. All lll the excitement has been taken from me at present due to how unlikely it is I'll get midwifery registration to work after all this. So they'll let me have a permanent visa as a midwife but won't allow me to work. Urghhh.
  4. I have been employed as a caseloading midwife for the last 3 years. This doesn't count as it wasn't part of my training. Counts for nothing it seems. The whole thing is ridiculous. And I lodged for a permanent visa 2 days ago. Bloody great.
  5. Yes I lodged visa a few days ago then discovered these new registration restrictions. Of course I can't prove 20 continuity cases within my training so even though I've been a caseloading midwife for 3 of my 8 years since qualifying it looks like I'm going to have to be supervised for 12 months! Complete nightmare.
  6. Thank you very much guys, very helpful info. Id actually be happy with a 457 sponsorship as I really feel Id like a couple of years to decide etc and the PR is so VERY expensive. But I dont ever see any adverts for midwifery sponsorships unless its terribly remote and rural and I dont want that either.
  7. That is really really helpful, thank you so much! Im assuming that because the modified assessment doesnt require personal references then this will be much easier way of doing ANMAC? But will I still need them for visa application? Looking at your timeline - does it take a year to get AHPRA granted?! I was looking for the quickest/most convenient way through the process (arent we all!!)
  8. Hi there, Ive looked through the forum but cant see an answer, I apologise if Ive missed something obvious! My question is - if I go for AHPRA first without IELTS (but with proof from high school that I was taught in English) and then go for ANMAC afterwards, would I a) do the modified assessment rather than full and b) still have to do IELTS for ANMAC or Visa ?? Sorry, Im still trying to get my head around it all. Im one very confused midwife trying to work out the best way though. Thanks!
