HI APPLEhead-
I commute to Penrith for work from Wentworth Point. I leave pretty early so that helps with traffic but coming out of the city is travelling against it anyway. I leave at 6:55 and I walk into work at 7:30. Living around Wentworth Point has its positives and negatives. The area itself is a brand new suburb, so streets, roads and apartments are all brand new and immaculate. You dont have the inner city prices as we're still a bit out of the way here but its probably more expensive than Paramatta- it depends what your budget is. Coming home from work takes a bit longer. I leave at 4 so the traffic isnt too bad then- this builds up the later you leave so it depends what time you would be finishing. About a 10-15 minute drive down Castlereagh Rd for me then I get onto the m4 about 4:20 and I arrive home just before 5, this varies depending on traffic but there or there abouts. As for Wentworth Point itself there is not much going on there. There are a handful of restaurants but we only eat at one. There is a cafe, a medical centre and thats about it. Access to the city isa tiny bit of a mission. We have the ferry at the end of hill road, about a 15 minute walk from where we live but you can live nearer. The ferry takes about 50 minutes to get to Darling Harbour. The last ferry back is 1025 though. The way we get into the CBD more is by train/ Although we arent actually on the train line. We drive about 20/25 minutes to Strathfield, leave the car in the residential area then walk about 10 minutes to the train station. From there the trains take about 20 minutes to get into the CBD. Strathfield is a location you could live- would take a bit longer to commute but easier access to the city. Depends if you are driving and what your preferences are. Feel free to ask me any questions. The commute from Parramatta would be less fthan that from wentworth point
