  3. for paper application will DIBP send acknowledgement letter by post or by email ?
  4. @Goan, so DIBP did not sent you notice through immiAccount "View Application Mailbox" ??
  5. For online application of Australian citizenship submitted after April 20 2017, does DIBP sent test/interview notice through immiAccount "View Application Mailbox" as well ? or we need to keep checking our own email for test/interview notification ? any experience sharing would be appreciated.
  6. Hi Sandym are you from low risk countries or high risk countries ?
  7. So you have had your PR visa granted offshore and you have NOT firstly arrived Australia with your PR visa ? please correct me if my understanding is wrong. If your plan is to bring new born baby into Australian with Australian electronic travel authority (https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/) with US passport (he/she will be delivered in US) then apply for subclass 802 onshore child PR visa ? If this is your plan, then YES , you will become Australian Permanent Resident once arrival with your PR visa and you will be eligible to sponsor your new born for application to subclass 802 visa. You can refer to page 1 of Medicare Enrollment Form - https://www.humanservices.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/3101-1306en.pdf and YES , you can enroll your new born baby with Medicare AS LONG AS you have received "acknowledgement letter of sublcass 802 application" issued by DIBP. Medicare will need to process your request and give you temporary medicare card (maybe valid for 1 year) for your new born baby. Applying for permanent residency People who have applied for a permanent resident visa (except for a parent visa) may be eligible for the Medicare and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme programs if they have a visa authorising their stay in Australia and: • have permission to work, or • their parent, spouse or child is an Australian citizen or holds an Australian permanent resident visa I am not sure your status in US. (Green card or US Citizen?) If you can just move to Australia and you can get Medicare "straight away" and deliver birth here in "Public hospital" for free and your new born will be eligible for Australian citizen, if you are US citizen or foreigners but do not mind if your new born can get US citizenship or not then I strongly suggest you delivering here in Australia. That will save your lots of time for paper work of subclass 802 visa and waiting time panic!!! If you want to discuss further you may email me at "whtzau@hotmail.com"
  8. looks like dibp gives citizenship application for skilled migration visa holder higher priority
  9. may i know which pr visa you are holding ? thanks !!
  10. thanks, it means DIBP has not implemented new rule into online application.
  11. Hi All, I got PR in 2016/July and I am about to apply for citizenship online and page 4 of citizenship application passed my "residence eligibility" so that I can proceed my online application. Does it mean DIBP has not implemented new rule onto online application ? Any one with similar situation like me (1 year PR) ?
  12. when did everyone start to suffer from that error ?
  13. I just started my online application for citizenship and was stuck at page 4 - Critical data confirmation as below. Error message is "We are currently experiencing a technical issue with our systems. You will not be able to proceed with this application at this time as this service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Anyone is suffering from this problem ? Is DIBP blocking all the ongoing application ?
  14. my local MP is Alex Hawke Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection but it looks like it's not worthy to talk to liberty party MP for this bill.
  15. Just received the community newsletter sent from office of alex hawke (assistant minister of dibp) and he is asking for community survey ... is it too late to raise up my complaint against proposed change of citizenship bill ?
  16. with this letter sent by DIBP on June 12 do you guys think this letter could be escalated to AAT and request DIBP following "existing" citizenship law ?
  17. curiously, how did you submit appeal without decision of DIBP ?
  18. THEN HOW WILL THEY MANAGE APPLICATIONS AFTER 20/04/2017 BEFORE THE END OF 2017 ?
  19. but if DIBP pend all the application and neither approve nor reject, just keep saying "the case is still processing" how can we applicants lodge our application to AATA for review ?
  20. In this decision, I take no account of the pending changes to the law governing Australian Citizenship . These announced alterations have not been legislated into law, nor has the date of their operation been announced. "ON 20/04/2017" when they announced this new rule, wow could respondent - DIBP say this young lady can still apply citizenship in next 9 months ? This young lady can not afford her University tuition, and it did not count on significant hardship ? Also, refer to Emeritus Professor Ron McCallum of USYD law school (http://sydney.edu.au/law/about/people/profiles/ron.mccallum.php) these announced alterations have NOT been legislated into law, not has the date of their operation been announced. HOW CAN DIBP PEND ALL THE APPLICATION LODGED ON OR AFTER 20/04/2017 ? In this decision, I take no account of the pending changes to the law governing Australian Citizenship . These announced alterations have not been legislated into law, nor has the date of their operation been announced.
