1. It all depends on what sort of visa you're after. If you wanted to go for the 457 Sponsorship route, you need to satisfy the criteria as per policy and that would include work experience, the English requirements with a min score, etc. This will also involve looking for the right employer who is willing to sponsor, location as most hospitals have now stopped sponsoring nurses from overseas and the prospect of finding the right job for you- you will. have to stick with that employer for at least 2 years until you figure out what your next move is. This can be quite a challenge if you don't like the role, there's no way out as you are sponsored. The PR route is another thing. Its a skill-based merit so you need to get a certain number of points for you to meet the requirements. You may even have to use your partner's qualifications to gain some points as you will end up applying together to up your chances of getting an invite/offer. This will also depend on a number of factors: -Skilled Occupation list changes every year(may/may not see the job listed currently appropriate for your visa) -Location (job depends on which states needs those workers the most; mostly Regional) -Time (Processing time usually takes longer now between 10 and 18 months)
 2. Your Lawful Residence Date would be your first entry to Australia regardless of a PR or a TR visa. I would assume your first entry was 10 April 2014. You can check the Immi website and have a go at the Residence Calculator which will give you a more accurate answer. Good luck!
 3. Hello there, I am in the process of applying for my citizenship but I have come across an error while doing my online application through ImmiAccount. One of the items included in the application is the residence eligibility by way of using the residence calculator. I have been here in Australia since 2013 and while I have been deemed eligible and with the requirements "met" using the calculator, this doesn't seem to get me to go ahead with my application. Has anyone had the same problem? First Lawful Entry: 20 June 2013 (Tourist Visa) x 3 months PR granted: 23 February 2016
 4. I finally got the grant this morning! It took almost 4 weeks of waiting from the last document I turned in but its well worth the wait! Here's my timeline: PR189 application submitted: 18th Jul 2015 Medicals: 23rd Jul Request for further information(AFP/Police certificates): 08th Sept Request for further information(Personal Particulars for Character Assessment-Form 80s) : 09th Nov Submitted Current Police Certificate: 11th Jan Grant: 23rd February 2016 :jiggy::jiggy::jiggy: I could have sped up the whole process had I frontloaded everything including the police certificates (which took me 2 months before I could get my hands on it!). I could not stress that any further; I would rather give them all the information they need rather than wait for them to ask for it. God speed guys, you will all get yours soon.=))
 5. Hi guys! Happy New Year!! Has anyone heard any news yet?? Well, I finally got my police certificate after 2 months of waiting but then I received it in a sealed envelope and was told not to open it otherwise it would be rendered invalid. What should I do now? I've been trying to call the Department to ask for questions but they are not taking calls at this time. I guess vacation is not over yet for most people. (sigh!)
 6. Good for you! II have a question for you guys. I was on a 457 visa for almost 2 years with an Insurance cover and now that I have a PR189 visa application pending, can I just stop my private health insurance cover? I just signed up for Medicare and I'm not 31 years old yet so I reckon I don't have to worry re:Medicare Levy as of yet. I'm with iman budget cover and really it doesn't do anything not even a dental and I was hoping to switch to another company just for the extras cover
 7. @CaptainC Thanks for that, I have one more question though. I lived in another country well over a year but I did not include it in my application with my 457 visa. Now that I have to complete this form(80), would it be wise to include it this time? I just couldn't be bothered obtaining another police check back then and well I guess i'm paying the price this time. sigh
 8. I lodged my application 18th July and got an email from the CO 8th Sept requesting for Police checks. It took me almost a month before I could obtain my police check and after not hearing from them for almost 4 weeks, they have now requested Form 80s to be filled out!! Seriously, why can't they just ask for everything all at once. Do I really have to give out all my information on the Form i.e. travel dates? Has there been any issues on not granting a visa due to some missing information on these forms?
 9.

Why do u ask? Sorry I haven't checked the forum for ages

 10.

Hello Where are you from ?

 13. Visa got granted TODAY!!!!! Finally!!! Took me 5 weeks from the day I lodged my application! FLying to Sydney on the 6th! It will be yours soon guys, don't fret!:jiggy::jiggy::jiggy::jiggy::jiggy:
