  1. no job on earth is worth so much stress. Actively look for somewhere else, give your self a time limit to remain where you are then leave.
  2. Just wish I had taken it out when i first arrived. Instead I relied on medicare. Developed disc problems (very painful) which requires surgery. Medicare will take years and public hospitals none too good on back operations!. Private Insurance would have taken care of it, however must wait 12 months after applying for it, for said op to be done. You live and learn I suppose.
  3. Just moved to Helensvale from Beenleigh. Lived in Oz now for 2 and a half years. The commute to Brisbane by car should take about 45 mins, does get busy during peak hours. Beauty of Helensvale is its proximity to the freeway. The Gold coast is your doorstep and it is a nice area with a good shopping centre. Well worth considering if you are moving tothe Gold Coast.
  4. Why are people saying it would be too hard for you now, ... and so what if you did return? I have been over for 2 and a half years and have never regretted it. Better to regret what you did do rather than what you didn't.
  5. Thank you for the replies. Now in the hands of a agency.
  6. We have applied for a last remaining relative visa for my step-daughter aged 24. However we have been notified because I have a son from a previous relationship, (her step brother), she may, not now be entitled. I find it absurd that a person with whom she has no contact or is related to by blood, could be used, to prevent her living with her family in Australia. My son is 20 years old and a full time student in Manchester, he has not spoken to my step daughter for years! She has serious mental issues (borderline personality disorder) and has been living with us in Queensland for 15 months now. If she was to return to England I do fear for her future safety. Thanks for any advice.
  7. So why are Britain and the US in Iraq if not for oil? Their weapons of mass destruction claim have now been proved bogus. Imperialism is now foreign policy is it?. Every war we get involved in?, don't you mean every war we start. None of your post makes any sense whatsoever.
  8. Sorry Dave I don't know what libralisum means. Sorry to have upset your right wing sensibilities folks, but you lot appear to be like a flock of sheep, believing everything you read in the tabloid press. Causalities of the West’s invasion and nine-year occupation are estimated by a new academic study at around 500,000 deaths from “war related causes”. The most of these deaths innocent civilians including women and children. I am by no means condoning the death of Lee Rigby, it was an act of barbarism, but I can understand why people are drawn to extremism, when the west continues to bomb the hell out of their country.
  9. If you want to stop these horrendous murders, stop making racist comments and furthermore bring all troops back from Iraq and Afghanistan, in what is nothing but a war for oil. Tens of thousands of innocent civilians have been murdered because of US/UK air strikes, don't really read much about these atrocities in your Daily Mail/Sun rags.
  10. Nothing too dramatic, but heading toward 1.9 dollars to the pound. Who knows we might hit the dizzy heights of 2 dollars to the pound sometime next year. Good news if you still have property in the Uk.
