  1. No point me keep asking then! I'll get told same thing except we have not been told they have been referred just that CO is yet to receive my daughters? Confused.com! And that was 8th march that meds were handed over to DIBP! Just don't get it x
  2. Guess what still NOTHING! Is it ever going to happen for us!
  3. Sorry to hear that, I know exactly how you feel. I'm hoping no news is good news xx
  4. Ok let's do it! So how does this beer challenge work? Xx
  5. Hi ya, firstly you need to see if you can get at least 60 points to apply and your occupation needs to be on the skills shortage list. If you go on diac website and look at the SOL to check. You then need to get a skills assessment through the assessing body for your industry. E.g. Diesel motor mechanic is assessed through Vetassess. Once you have a positive skills assessment you may then need to do an IELTS test to gain points for English ability. Then once you have these you can submit an expression of interest as long as you have your 60 points. The points can be made up different ways so check out diac website, even your age is a factor. Make sure if your doing this by yourself that anything you claim in you expression of interest you can prove. E.g. If your claiming points for number of years in your occupation that you have payslips and references to back that up. A lot of the info you use for your skills assessment you use again for lodging your visa. Once you submit an EOI you then wait for an invite to apply for your visa, at that point you get 60 days to lodge your visa application. Once you lodge it you then wait for a case officer to get assigned and they tell you if you need to provide anything else, send you for medicals and complete police clearance checks. Once all that's done you await your grant! And all this costs Loads too! So be prepared, well it's cost us loads because there are five of us! That's about it really. You can get lots of info from the Diac website. There are lots of great people on this thread so if I've missed anything they will come along and add on I'm sure. Good luck with it all. Xxxx
  6. Thank you guys it means a lot. I hope this week will be our week everything crossed xxx
  7. Lol cheers Vanduex, we have had no response yet from case officer so nothing more I can do but wait. No point in keeping on at agent as they have emailed CO. As for house I'm going to give it one more week before making a decision. We sold in February and could complete end of April but that won't be happening unless we get the grant next week. Waiting waiting waiting and more waiting! Apparently no news is good news hmmmmm?
  8. Still nothing but thanks for your kind words guys. I'm now thinking of pulling out of our house sale as I just can't take the chance of selling house and potentially no visa. it's so hard not knowing what's going on!
  9. No you don't mate, honestly don't worry. I felt like you before hand but it was far more chilled than expected and afterwards I thought what was all the fuss about. Where abouts you going for them? X
  10. we turned up and had to give a urine sample first even the kids, aged 7 and 8. My 1 yo didn't obviously. Then we went in with doctor they asked us all the questions that we had already answered before medical when you complete the online thingy before hand. Asked me about pregnancy/birth with the kids eg any complications etc. They then ask you to strip off to underwear (even kids) and they do your height weight and get you to lay on bed and feel your stomach, listen to your chest, look in your ears and eyes. They do a quick eye test just reading some letters off the wall. They then did blood tests (over 12 only) and chest X-rays (just adults) and think that was it. They were really friendly. We were there for nearly two hours but that was five of us! Think that was it. Don't worry about anything you will be fine. Xxx
  11. I've rang agent, asked her to email CO and she didn't sound too impressed. Am I being unreasonable? I would like case officer to let us know where/what is happening with my daughters medical?
  12. Thank you. Hope to hear something tomorrow as I've asked agent today to email case officer asking him to chase up at his end. Have no idea what the deal is with my daughters medical as not been told it's been referred and not been asked for anything so completely in the dark and still Waiting, not very patiently!
  13. Oh man I'm losing the will to live with this! Probably boring you all now with this! Still nothing! Still poxy waiting. Our house may complete end of this month so what do we do if still no grant? Pull out of sale? So fed up.
  14. Hi karina, sorry I have only just seen this post. We had our meds on 1st march. Yeah this waiting is horrible and so worrying! How would I be able to contact MOC directly? I could ask my agent? It's the bloody not knowing anything! We had to fish to even find out it was my daughters med that was hold up. Good luck to you too x
  15. you have no idea how much this means to me to hear that! It's just over 3 weeks since ours (4 of us) were cleared so now waiting on my daughters, so hopefully we may hear something this week. The fact you have been through the same scenario (similar) makes me feel better and that we won't just get left. My daughter is deaf in one ear but copes fine with her good ear and excels at school. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease be this week. Everyone on here must be so sick of me now! Lol
  16. Hi ya, yeah I'm sooooo hoping this week is the week. Feel like I'm walking around with a cloud over my head! X
  17. Hey, i rang my daughters GP and both her consultants and no one had been requested anything. I also rang hospital where meds took place and they sent everything through and panel doctor didn't seem to be worried or concerned about my daughters hearing loss to one ear. So it is probably held up with medical officer at DIBP. So the plan is this, if no news by end of this week then ill scan across our medical papers from hospital that shows all was completed etc to our agent, who can then forward to case officer and see what case officer can do from his end. So more waiting but I'll keep you updated xxxx
  18. Hi ya, I really appreciate you telling me that, thank you. Yes that does fill me with more confidence. I'm now of the attitude what's meant to be will be and if they refuse our visas then we were never meant to go to oz and if we get the grant then oz adventure here we come. Just hate this waiting game!!
  19. I must admit I feel better knowing what the delay is however still concerned as to what the outcome will be. The panel doctor didn't seem concerned about my daughters hearing however the medical department at DIBP may think different but I hope not. My daughter is deaf in one ear but hears perfectly with her one good ear and she doesn't need any extra support or anything. What will they make of it? Who knows? X
  20. Case officer has replied and basically said they are still waiting on receiving my daughters medical back! This has confused the life out of me as it's all electronic! They have 4 of ours and not the fifth. We have not had any indication that it's been referred and hospital sent them all through at exactly the same time. So we are going to give it until Friday Next week but in meantime I'm going to scan across the medical forms that got sent to me from the hospital to my agent and if necessary agent can chase up again next week and include all the paperwork that shows meds from hospital, if that makes sense. X
