  1. Hi, I had this visa granted in Dec. The employer is notified when the nomination is approved, not the visa applicant. It then depends whether your employer tells you
  2. Parramatta are having a good day! MA just called to say......the visa has been granted. I can't believe how happy & relieved I am!! What an amazing Christmas & wedding present! We applied on 29 Aug DR transition stream through Parramatta. With all police/medicals at time of application. It has been a long and hard process for a variety of reasons and when I have calmed down I will put a post on here with some tips that I would do differently if I was doing it again. In the meantime, best of luck to everyone, and I hope you can relax & enjoy the festive season.
  3. Still no news & can't get in touch with my MA....he's probably out at a Christmas party!!
  4. Hi David, thank you so much for your kind words. I am trying not to get too excited, so I don't end up disappointed, as I've been let down in this process before. I will let you know either way. Thanks again and good luck!! Isabel x
  5. Hi all, received email from my MA this morning. He has been in touch with the CO who has confirmed they received the updated docs we sent and he will review them by Friday 20 Dec. So fingers crossed we should hear SOMETHING on Friday.... Will keep you posted. Keep positive people..
  6. Just as an update....it's been a week since we sent updated info to the CO and still nothing.... the MA has emailed twice for an update but no response to those either. It looks like we won't be getting our visas this side of Xmas
  7. Hi MelbKitty - I can't speak for anyone else, but the reason I have become so anxious is because the 6 month timeframe appeared to be a 'maximum' I have paid for an MA to apply decision ready, as these applications are supposed to be priority. It would now appear that they aren't given priority at all, which is incredibly frustrating, as it seems like a waste of money. It also makes you very nervous when you see other people's applications being approved before you, when they applied after. It makes you think there may be something wrong or that yours has somehow been missed? When it affects children (in my case 18 year old step son) they're not the most patient of people, and trying to explain the process to them when you have no idea/explanation also adds to the anxiety.
  8. I'm gutted. When we heard we had a case officer last week, And they only needed a small amount of further info that I knew we could provide quickly, I was convinced we would have the visa this week. Can't believe another weekend is going to go by in this limbo land. My stepson is devastated, it looks like he's missed out on his uni place for next year.
  9. Hi Tony Mine's in Parramatta, but the CO seems to have gone AWOL and the MA is refusing to chase because he thinks it could delay the application further.....aAaagghh!!!??!? I feel like giving up. This is the most frustrating process ever.
  10. Pleased for you Dday. I applied one month before you, 28 Aug. CO contacted my MA last Fri (6 Dec) requesting further info. All info sent on Tues (10 Dec) No response as yet. My MA called & emailed yesterday, but still nothing. I am starting to panic given the proximity to Christmas......
  11. Sorry to hear that. I know I have a CO. They asked for further info, which I sent yesterday first thing. But still nothing. I'm getting concerned that there's a problem with the info I sent?
  12. Can you not contact DIBP because their own service standards for this visa are 6 months. Surely if they exceed this they can provide you an update?
  13. Thanks Brar and congrats on your visa. We had already submitted declarations, so we just sent some photos/flight tickets, joint bank and bills and information on our wedding in 3 weeks. Hopefully that will all be enough!!
  14. Hi Brar do you mind me asking, what additional de facto docs did your CO request and what did you send? I'm applying for a 186 and exactly the same has happened to me. We submitted updated info this morning. thank you
  15. Thanks Oppy - for advice & kind words. We have a step son on tenterhooks here waiting to know if he can go to uni.....so I really hope you're right and it's close.
  16. Hi guys, sent in my updated defacto info to the MA today (joint flight tickets and photos, joint bank account statements, bills and info on our upcoming wedding.) The MA says he will send to the case officer today - once that happens, does anyone have experience of how long it might take the CO to review and make a decision?
  17. Hi all, MA just rung....We have a CO!!!!! they want some updated info to show we're still a defacto couple as the application was submitted in Aug, we'll have that to them on Tues (as we're away together this weekend) and then hopefully we could have a decision!!! Will keep u all posted.
  18. Just checking in to see if anyone has heard anything?? We don't seem to have heard of any grants on here for a couple of weeks??
  19. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. When we had our medicals (August) we were just able to call medibank to book medicals, we didn't need a number or anything.
  20. Have just heard from MA. He has received an email from DIBP, they have said they will allocate it to a CO within 5 -10 working days, so hopefully we'll hear from them soon after that. At least they replied....
