thats good news harby. noticed you trained at the university of lancashire, was that UCLAN? that is where i did my training, if we went to the same uni then that is good to know.

Applied in August? wow that's a long time. I know at my Uni medication management is touched on throughout the three years however don't particularly remember kinetics/dynamics being included in this. I do remember uni referring quite a lot to self directed study due to medications been so broad so to speak however no actual exam on the subject. however you would think as UK RMNs all universities nationally cover the same syllabus in order to qualify and satisfy the NMC.

Thanks Harby, I must say I am rather concerned/worried about criteria 8 as my university did not cover this as a module, was this the case at your university? seems rather silly really that Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics are not studied when as nurses we have to have to demonstrate knowledge/competence to administer medications. Will have to wait and see if RMNs have any issues with registration, my friend who is an RMN applied a few weeks ago however has not heard anything back from APHRA as of yet asking for any further information so will be interesting to see how she gets on with it all. I am currently revising for IELTS and am wondering if I should continue and if this is all going to be a waste of time? only time will tell I suppose. Harby please keep us posted on how you get on with AHPRA, all very nerve wrecking :unsure:

HI, Can anyone help? since the new changes with AHPRA and the new model are UK RMNs still able to register? I am worried about criteria 8 and how this can be evidenced as we did not cover or get assessed on pharmokinetics. We did however cover medication management, does anyone know if criteria 8 is going to be a problem for RMNs? or has any RMN registered since the new model came into play? Thanks in advance
