1.

Can I assume that even PMs and visitor messages are invisible as well ? Dont answer if I am right. <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

2. Interesting article and so very accurate.
3. If it comes to achoice between some expats and the overall good of the economy it is a no brainer. With so many positive signs for the economy it is important that the momentum continues. Expats had it good when it was close to $3 to £1, it has always been swings and roundabouts.
4. It makes absolutely no difference to me what the weather is like, what this country has to offer more than makes up for the weather. If I thoight that Australia would be better for our kids we would definitely move back.
5. Surely you understand how the word funny is used in that context ?
6. I agree with this, Australia has an overinflated view of its own importance not share by the rest of the world. I rarely if ever hear the country mentioned in the media other than as you say in regard sport.
7. I have only read a couple of your posts this morning but you come across as incredibly insecure and bitter. Sorry just the way I see it.
8. I must admit we found the same thing in Victoria, you were almost made to feel as though you were being unreasonable if you dared to chase something up.
9. Couldnt we just keep this on topic ? Some like a certain place and others dont, its no big deal.
10. It was a while ago now but I suppose just as relevant. I always felt everything in Australia was temporary whether it be the houses or the friends or the buildings. We just missed the lifestyle here and couldnt get it in Australia. We missed the pubs, the people, the countryside, old friends and lots of other things. Its not to say Australia isnt a wonderful country but for us and clearly many others it isnt as wonderful as here. We have considered going back but lots of things are putting us off not least of which is how expensive it has become.
11. I think you have hit the nail firmly on the head with this post. We are very much in the will we wont we camp and with the way things are going it is more likely that we wont make the move. We are extremely comfortable in a lovely area, wife just had sizeable pay rise and my business doing well. Seems a lot to give up for an unlikely possible improvement.
12. wow that is quite an eye opener especially when you keep hearing that wages make up for the higher COL which doesnt necessarily seem to be the case. Thanks for the link.
13. I didnt want this to be my first post but what a ridiculous thread and can only be designed to cause arguments surely ? Its like me saying lets compare 1000 year old castles in the 2 countries. Im not (possibly) coming to Australia to sit on a stinking hot beach and frankly couldnt care what the temperature is. Australia is a hotter country so obviously temperatures will be hotter.
