  1. So would you be able to help shine some light on these two questions. ? Please. Page 9 Q 11. Have you or any dependent family member (migrating with you or not) previously been to Australia, held or currently hold a visa for travel to Australia? No, Unsure, Yes, Give details (if known) 1. Full name Purpose of stay in Australia Date of arrival Day Month Year Date of departure Visa number We have both been on holidays here before securing a 457 of which Gary (Husband) has been granted 2. WHAT would our answer be to this and what Visa number should we use. Page 11 Q 34. If you are applying for a visa that can only be granted to a person outside Australia: What is the value of money, goods and assets which you (and your partner) intend to bring to Australia? Local currency Australian dollar equivalent AUD We can apply for this Visa whilst being in Australia as we are on a 457 with no holds on– so does that mean we leave this question blank
  2. Has anyone on here applied for a 47PA (Contributory Parent Visa) sponsored by your child.. whilst living and working here in Oz on a 457.? there are a few questions that i am not sure of.

  6. Even if we get the CPV we wont be eligible for any benefits for 10 years.. But then in our 70's is probably when we will need help .. Ho Hum
  7. Australia did cherry pick us for a sponsorship 5 years ago, so i just feel it would be beneficial to Australia to keep us for our skills.
  8. Yes, it just would be great if as we have worked so far for 5 years and not been a burden on the Government that another protocol was in place to transfer into PR. Still plenty of work left in us to contribute to the Country,
  9. Yeh I hear you, we did know the CPV facts but there is no harm is trying to get the fees reduced. Also we live in the SWAN VALLEY so am loving your quote: So many wineries ......so little time
  10. We only came over here in our early 50's. Before that we lived in South Africa for 23 years.

  12. HI my husband and I live and work here in Perth, on our second 457. He is 60 this year and of course we desperately want to stay. We have our only 2 daughters here, married with children, they have PR What does last remaining close relative mean, I have no family back in the UK but my husband has 1 brother & 1 sister. He is not close to them as we moved to South Africa in 1976 returning to England in 2000, then got sponsored for Australia in 2010. Do we stand a chance applying for that option. We can't afford the $100.000 CPV
  13. My hubby is a first class machinist / tool maker, we are on a 457 and at present we just cannot find another sponsor to take over the visa so he has been out of work since September.
  14. still knocking on doors, sending emails and chatting to people Cal...still NOTHING for a 457 holder. Hope the new year is kinder to us..:arghh:
  15. A 457 visa holder is generally given 90 days from the date they ceased employment to either lodge a new application or depart Australia. If, after 90 days, neither of these events have occurred, the cancellation officer will send you a Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation (NOICC) letter which asks you to explain (in writing) why your visa should not be cancelled. It is at this point you may request a short extension (stating your reasons why) with the aim of using this extra time to either finalise your affairs to depart Australia or to lodge a new application. It will then be up to the cancellation officer to decide if your reasons are sufficient
  16. we seem to be in the same boat mate- well if we were in a boat we might be able to stay without paying 1000's of $
  17. That was well put, i too wish we were 10 years younger so as we could get PR.
  18. Thanks Cal we need all the help we can get 90 days is up on 23rd December
  19. 1st Class Metal Machinist living in Perth 1 year left on Visa, need a new sponsor soon as poss.
  20. We didn't have anything to sell up, we were expecting to stay the 4 years on the 457. have been saving for the CPV @ 42.000$ each.
  21. Hi My husband is a 1st class machinist / toolmaker we are here on a 457, he was laid off by a company he was contracted to in September and the Sponsor has yet to find him more work, I feel there is a definite no no attitude to 457 workers here in Perth at present. Our 90 days are nearly up and we are dreading having to go back to the UK and leave our Daughters and Grandchildren.
