Higher Education Advanced Diplomas will be considered for applicants currently residing in South Australia. Documents required: a copy of the academic transcript and a letter of completion from the institution. 5.2 Applicants must meet one of the following: 5.2.1 Currently working in a skilled occupation (minimum 30 hours per week) in South Australia. The skilled occupation must be ANZSCO level 1 to 4 and listed on the State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) or Immigration SA’s current Offlist. OR 5.2.2 Have met the general work experience requirement as per nomination criteria 7. If an applicant is claiming Australian work experience, 50% of this must be South Australian work experience. Documents required for work experience: A letter from the employer confirming commencement date, job title, duties and tasks, salary and number of hours worked per week. Consideration will be given to applicants (currently residing in South Australia) who are a PhD or Masters by Research SA graduates who don’t meet work experience requirement 5.2.1 or 5.2.2. To be considered, applicants must have an IELTS of 7.0 in each band score or 7.5 overall.

Hi Lee, I am an AME too. I ran into the same trouble last year. Anyways, I believe that SA is sponsoring AMEs but with conditions. Apart from SA, only NT has AME avionics and AME mechanical on the State migration plan. I got my 489 from NT last november. I wish you all the best!! Regards, Citation560XL

Hi Soha, Thank you. Yes i do know the terms of the 489. As for the financial support, under the 190 too; you would need to support yourself until you get a job. I applied for the 190 but was given the 489... Something is better than nothing i'd say. :biggrin:

I had received my 489 grant last month.. the NT is pretty quick and it took me exactly 60 days from visa application to grant (with pre loaded meds and pcc). I didnt even get any communication from my CO. It was a direct grant.. all the best

So after waiting impatiently for 2 months. I finally thought of calling the DIAC to know the status of my visa. Woke up early ( 7.30 am)... usually up only around 10 lol... to call them. I checked the evisa page one last time before calling.. and there it was... the Golden words... "Finalized" "view grant letter" Exactly 2 months after lodgement (16 Sep) and no contact whatsoever from my CO.. my visa has come through(15 nov). Thank you PIO for all your support and advice...U guys have really help me alot. :yes:

Hi, I had lodged a SS 489 on 16th sep and front loaded PCC and med. Will there be delay in processing my visa as opposed to a visa application with an occupation on more than one list? Thank you.
