Hi all. Big happy dance we heard this morning we have our 173 visa. Can't believe it after all this time. Hang on in there all of you who are still waiting, it will happen eventually. Big thanks to Go Matilda they are brilliant.

Yippee have just paid our second visa payment for our 173 visa. Now we can get excited. Good luck to those still waiting.

Hi Genie 1. We will be staying with my daughter in Seaview Downs (about 30 mins from Glenelg). Would be great to meet up once we are all settled. Good luck with all the good-byes, I am dreading that part of it. We are just waiting to be asked for our visa fee then at least I can start booking the Shipping people etc. I am so lucky that our buyers have been ok about all the waiting. Have a safe trip.

Hi Kelvintom. I am sorry you still haven't got your CO. Our lodgement date was 27th July with acknowledgment date 27th August. Not long now for you I am sure. Keep positive and I hope to hear you have got your CO soon.

Hi Genie 1. Am so pleased that you are almost there! We had our medicals done last Saturday so hopefully not long for us now. This procedure is certainly not for the faint hearted!!!

Hi Kelvintom Our agent have had a letter stating it now takes approx. 18 months from lodgement date for a CO and that they are dealing with all the applications as quickly as possible. I know we have had Christmas and New Year but as you say two people have had their CO allocated before Christmas so I expected to hear by now. I have now sent the dreaded form 80 off (which has been revised 11/2013) and our PCC to our Agents. Just need the CO for the HAP to get our medicals done. Luckily our buyers are happy to wait a bit longer which is lucky for us. Good luck with getting your CO. Please post this forum when you do so it gives hope to the rest of us.

Hi 1724rej. We had our acknowledgement in August 2012 and are still waiting for a Case Officer and have been told we can't do our medicals until we get our HAP number. So I don't understand what is going on. We are now 17 months!! Good luck to you though I hope it all goes well.

Hi Genie1. I typed the wrong date - der!!! Our lodgement date was 27.7.2012 and acknowledgement date 27.8.2012. So we are a bit behind you and of course we have had Christmas and New Year. I have already completed form 80. Good fun isn't it? Shame the UK aren't as fussy. I think I will start a new club called very very confused.com!!!

Hi. Can anyone tell me the difference between an acknowledgement date and a lodgement date? My lodgement date was 27/12/2012 & acknowledgement date 27/8/2012. Do we go by the acknowledgement date? Am confused. Thanks. Happy New Year to you all and to all at Poms in Oz. Regards Nuttynan.

Hi Boss2468. Am so pleased, you must be so excited. Santa obviously hasn't got my letter cos our date was 27/7/2012. I am thinking 143 gets priority over 173. Of course we now have Christmas and New Year which will delay things even more. Anyway merry Christmas to all of you and good news for all of us in 2014. Regards Nuttynan.

Hi Boss2468. I have just looked at the Immi website and it is now stating that Contributory Parent Visas can now take 12 - 24 months. Just our luck. Am really fed up as I expect you are. Hope to see you get your Case Officer soon as we are a month behind you.

Hi Genie1 we were advised by our agent to complete form 80 in case it is asked for by the CO. It was a pain but looks like even on 173 visa it is needed. I hope so after all the hassle of completing it but assume our agent knows best. They said that form 80 seems to be requested now which in the past wasn't always the case.

Hi Genie, No I am not on the tracker cos it doesn't seem to move so depresses me even more! I saw you on there. We have applied for a 173 and are going to Adelaide. I just want to get going now. When I get a CO I will let everyone know. I have done our Police Checks and filled in form 80 so only the medicals to do!!!!

Hi Genie1. Any news on your CO. we are still waiting too and are behind you. Our acknowledgement date 27.7.2012. We have a buyer for our bungalow and are raring to go. It feels like our whole life on hold! Earlier in the year people had their visas granted within 14 months so just our luck!!!!

Hi Tabitha, I have just filled in my form 80 in readiness. What a pain. It's hard to remember what I did last week let alone since leaving school. Still after many page reprints I have done it!! Still waiting for a CO now 16 months!!!!!! feel like I am in limbo. Good luck with your application.

Hi Nicolac34. We applied for 173 July 2012 and still not got a CO. Does anyone know approx waiting time as earlier in the year it seemed people were only waiting 14 months! Thanks.

Hi Holidaykev. We are at the 15 month stage and still waiting for a Case Officer on our 173 visa. The HAP ID is allocated by the Case Officer when you get one. The medicals are now done electronically so you can't do them without the HAP. So fingers crossed for us all that we hear soon. Frustrating isn't it. Regards Nuttynan

Thanks for that Genie 1. Our 173 was lodged 27th July 2012:arghh: so looks like we still have a long wait. It is so frustrating. Wanted to get our medicals done but seems like we need a HIP I.D for that. Lets hope this is all worth it in the end.
