? If you are a young executive with decent package you can afford a hotel for a few weeks. If not ie just a graduate then of course you will need to put up with the inconvenience of a hostel or backpackers environment.

After finding the local state schools were unable to take my daughters (autism related) they are flourishing in a highly academic environment. How have others found the level of private schools in Melbourne? Sydney?

Once they reach the age of 18 they should be treated as adults Perhaps it would be a better discussion with the 19 year old that they are okay with it? My parents left me to look after my siblings when I was 16 for 3 weeks (grandparents developed life threatening illness overseas) so don't see any issue with it. (New Zealand drivers age was 15 so being entitled to drive I did both school runs and weekly shop. After 2 weeks of **** food ie crisps biscults etc we settled down in week 3 to meat and veges and learnt valuable lesson). Best of luck for Sydney

For just $250k I would think the administrative costs outweigh any potential tax saving. $250k x 10% $25k being difference in rates of 30% to 20%. Now what happens when a rate changes in either country? What about a transfer price review? Your arguement of following IP would be challenging as the IP resides in Australia? When you get a few more contracts you could consider a Singapore where company tax is 17% and dividends are not taxable income.

A colleague has proposed an area in Sydney called Hunters Hill. Does anyone else reside here or close by with real information on living experiences? Have a major project in West Ryde which appears close by but that could be a dangerous assumption for travel in rush hour. Have posted already that looking for place in Brisbane as well. Pretty much settled in Melbourne but will need place in Sydney/Brisbane in next 6 to 9 months. Any hints on good foodie places also much appreciated or Arty film cinemas.

Can anyone recommend the more exclusive areas of Brisbane to reside? And if possible why the area commands a premium? ie close to great beach, proximity to city centre? Not particularly a beach person (prefer tropical bush setting). But work extremely long hours and travel alot so need sanctuary without neighbourhood concerns. Do not need to be concerned with schools and family will be based in Melbourne. I will be rolling out projects in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne so rather than stay in hotel would prefer a house or large apartment. Sorry if it sounds pretentious as have no reason to offend those on budget, but would appreciate honest information never the less.
