  1. Hey mate, which one is the Irish Pub and what time roughly?
  2. Speak to a migration agent, sounds like you put your own application together and it hasn't worked. The answers below are true, you have had a very fast response for an 820 app, sounds like there's something major wrong which is why it's been picked up so quickly.
  3. Hi Everyone Living in Aus and loving it, however living in Bondi means that a lot of mates you make have to move on eventually either for travelling or sponsorship issues etc. At the moment I'm losing friends quicker than I can make them (as I work) so was wondering if any Poms our there are up for a gathering in Bondi/Eastern Suburbs or City. Let me know. Oh yea I'm 31 and love having a good time so hit me up.
  4. Hi Mate, I live at Bondi Beach, 2 mins away from the water and rent my own place for $460 per week, its pretty big too. I have sacrificed the extra money in my pocket for location - after all it's free to go to the beach, cheap to have a bbq etc. haha! Bondi junction is 7minutes to the city, Martin Place/Town Hall so it's ideal to get into the city for work. Best advice is pay around $450-500 in a good location where there's stuff to do that doesn't involve a lot of money, swimming, running, surfing etc, that way you have the best of both you know.
  5. Hi I'm travelling up to Cairns, Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation for 2 weeks before heading back to Sydney; so if that interests you you're more than welcome to join.
  6. Thanks for the offer, sorry the reply is late haha. Maybe next week?
  7. Hi POI Users Just wondering whether anyone would like to meet up next Saturday 6th April 2013 anywhere in Sydney? I've been in Sydney since 2nd March, work in the CBD and live in Strathfield, have met a few great people, namely housemates and work colleagues, but my social circle is looking a bit thin...(sad times lol). If anyone would like to meet up for a few drinks or for food just let me know. There are 3 of us looking to make some new friends.
  8. Dear Meg123 I was in a very similar position to you last week, and I too advertised for any help; eventually I found this very affordable accomodation - http://www.bellabedz.net I don't arrive in Sydney until Saturday 2nd March, but all the reviews I've read of the place are really good, and it's close to the train station making commuting to places easy. Good luck
  9. Thanks for your reply mate; I've managed to find accomodation in Strathfield http://www.bellabedz.net the reviews on net are really good and its right next door to the train station which makes the commute into CBD easy. Only 2 days till I fly out, kind of feeling nervous right about now haha!
  10. Thanks for your reply, very helpful and informative, much appreciated. I have now managed to find affordable short term accomodation in Strathfield http://www.bellabedz.net
  11. Dear Poms in Oz users, I've been fortunate enough to have been offered a job in a lawfirm in Sydney CBD. I'm set to arrrive around 10am on Saturday 2nd March. Not looking forward to the trip yet though as I have found it incredibly difficult to get anywhere to stay. Any websites I go on/ads I respond to never seem to get any replies. I've tried going through estate agents and they all advise me to book into a hostel for a few days in order to look around at properties. While that sounds like an ok-ish option, all the reasonably priced accomodation seems to be grimey backpacker style stuff, which doesn't appeal to me as I am a young professional and will be working from the start of my trip (don't really fancy the idea of a noisy hostel as I'll be sleeping early-ish and waking up early for work). Are there any Brits reading who have been in the same boat and could point me in the right direction OR are there any readers that want/need an extra housemate (or 2 as my friend is also coming to Oz with me). I am looking to pay $200-$300 AUD a week; I'm well educated, clean, tidy and respectful, and best of all can cook most foods (amateur chef). Please let me know your thoughts on this people. P.S. I'll be starting work as a Migration lawyer, so anybody that could provide me with accommodation would have free access to all the legal help and advice they needed regarding their relocation/migration issues.
  12. Hey Peeps I'm due to arrive in Sydney on 2nd March so I'd defo be up for having a few drinks from then onwards :goofy:
